Nick is a douche-bag, yes, but Will has his own brain. He's part Horton, part Roberts, part Brady. He has to have gotten some of their best traits, right? Seems not. And for the record, I don't exactly want to see him act like Samantha's son. At this rate, one Samantha acting like Samantha is enough. I would prefer him to act like Lucas, or Kate bad if he has to go there.
