I take your point about the Brady family not accepting Nicole, but neither do the DiMera or Kiriakis families. The scorn Victor and Stefano have shown her in the past far surpasses any raised eyebrows from Marlena or Roman. Roman was even nice to her recently and said he was glad that Nicole was with Eric when the junkie showed up to rob the church. And Sami's judgment? That's just the pot calling the kettle black, so I don't care. Not even Sami's own family take her value judgments seriously.
With all that being said...I don't think anyone's family should be the determining factor in who Nicole should be with. As long as that man (be it Eric, Brady or anyone else) treats her the way she deserves to be treated, then only his opinion should matter.
The only thing that might get a bit tiresome in the Ericole story for me is, as you pointed out, Nicole constantly deeming herself "unworthy". Eric's not making that judgment though; he's showing nothing but support for and belief in her. I love Nicole and always have, but she's made some pretty big mistakes in her life. She's going to need to have better self-esteem and make better decisions no matter who she's with (hopefully without losing her characteristic edge).
