Doesn't sound like he was happy at all about the way Safe ended.
No, it doesn't.

The writing from pre-wedding to post-wedding was very disjointed. That, plus GG's comment about other things being in play, makes me think the post-wedding shift toward Ejami wasn't necessarily what the writers were planning on doing and that it was dictated by higher ups.
I think the other things in play resulted in a delay in putting Sami and EJ together, but I'm convinced that the intent to go with them as a couple, has been in place since MarDar was writing.
Maybe, I really have no idea. I'd like to believe that the TomSell didn't think they had to go with Ejami at first, because if they knew they were going with Ejami, what the hell were they doing from August to December?? That whole Rafe-Safe storyarc did nothing but make Sami look flighty and confuse the audience as to which direction they were headed. I know I personally felt like it was going to be a redux of Safe-Ejami 2010, which definitely made the fall less enjoyable to me.

That being said, the crappy writing of last year doesn't prevent me from enjoying the Ejami that's on our screens today. Like I said earlier, I've had to consciously stop looking for long-term, deep storylines because they simply don't exist on the show anymore. Lowering my expectations has done wonders for my enjoyment of Days, LOL.
