It's not really as much of a 5 year jump as it is a 3 1/2 year jump since, even in real time, it's been about a year and a half since the show went off the air. Also, in a genre when characters can age 15+ years in the span of 7 years (and not always in the right order), time jumps aren't that big of a deal for me. Especially on a show where Kendall is really supposed to be AT LEAST 43+ years old and older than Charlie Brent.
