So, just like with the Summer Olympics, NBC is opting to broadcast an edited version of the day's events in prime time, rather than to broadcast the events live. This is great for Days, but looking at the broader picture, I must say I don't quite see the logic behind NBC's decision. The time difference between Sochi and NYC is 8 hours. There are some events that will take place in the afternoon in Sochi, e.g. figure skating. If the competition starts in Sochi at, say, 6 p.m., that will be 10 a.m. on the east coast in the US. So, why not broadcast live? People will be awake and could watch.

It may be to draw in bigger ratings for the Olympics, there are a lot of people at work at 10:00am during the week that wouldn't be tuning in, that might otherwise in the evening.
