Viewing Single Post From: Winter Olympics schedule released

So, just like with the Summer Olympics, NBC is opting to broadcast an edited version of the day's events in prime time.....If the competition starts in Sochi at, say, 6 p.m., that will be 10 a.m. on the east coast in the US. So, why not broadcast live? People will be awake and could watch.
7AM live broadcasts for half the country on the west coast? Ratings would be in the dozens. Even 10AM in the East would mean a few thousand viewers, not the millions that primetime offers.

NBC has always packaged the Olympics for primetime, so I'm not all that surprised.

I **am** surprised that DOOL is going to air at all. I am actually shocked. I think this is a good sign for the show's renewal for Year 50.

Then again, there's also always the chance that NBC will hand that hour back to the affiliates so that they can show the syndicated fare that the NBC coverage is pre-empting.
