I have to say, I am mystified at the lengths Daniel is going to to protect J.J. I guess this is supposed to reinforce to viewers (and J.J.) what a selfless, saintly, all-around good guy he is? He has way too much to lose and even though I like J.J. a lot and have little regard for Daniel, it's undeniable that J.J.'s done some pretty nasty stuff to him (breaking into his home, vandalizing his property, etc.) Is J.J. going to end up being the new cheerleader for Dannifer? I really don't want that. I'd rather J.J. started to get his life together while continuing to view Daniel the same way Sami viewed John for years - with skepticism and hostility. It just makes for better drama that way. (Edit: But I guess it can't work since now J.J. is effectively in Daniel's debt.)
