If only the networks had special time slots dedicated to airing news -- and only news -- multiple times throughout the day -- like, say, a two-hour block (or longer...) during the morning, a thirty- to sixty-minute block at noon, another two-hour block at the start of the evening, and a thirty-five minute block at night. Then they could broadcast things like this during those times for the people who don't have cable or satellite subscriptions and still not bother the people who couldn't possibly care less about this sort of thing.
