More to the point, it was important for him to come back for that significant even to honor the memory of John Ingle. WK was and is a very important part of the Quartermaine family, so I can't imagine them having mourned Edward Quartermaine without him.
He also mentioned at the time that he had talked with Days first prior to accepting the offer so he wouldn't burn bridges, which I felt was a very classy (and smart) move on his part.
I can't figure out why no one's given him a contract. He's fantastic.
