WEEKLY NEWSPAPER SYNOPSES|
WEEK OF DECEMBER 22 - DECEMBER 26, 1980
Lee ruined Doug and Julie's Christmas Eve by having nurse Mabel wheel Lee into the casino. Doug got even by spending Christmas Day with Julie and the Hortons. Because of a mixup, the hospital's children's ward had two feuding Santas, Don and Kellam. Chris returned home as Leslie fell into Alex's arms, even though Alex's thoughts were on Marie. Tod withheld Jessica's gift because she spent Christmas Eve with Joshua. Liz asked Mickey to hire a private eye to find Neil. Marie got teary while spending Christmas with Jessica and Alex. Doug asked Liz to substitute at the club for Trish, who got a singing job in Chicago. Doug asked Mike to be Trish's manager while Joshua filled in for Mike at the club.
WEEK OF DECEMBER 29, 1980 - JANUARY 2, 1981
(Note at the beginning of this week's recap: For the New Year, we offer a potpourri of speculative resolutions for the soap characters, which they would be well-advised to heed, as well as a few predictions.)
This probably will be Doug and Julie's reconciliation year. Lee will cry wolf once too often. Marie should strengthen her nun's vows, because Alex might decide to make it one big happy family with Marie, Jessica, and himself. Marlena should learn she can't trust a guy like Kellam, but she probably will not reunite with Don without a string of complications. Mike and Trish should be wary of getting too comfy because David will loom on the horizon.
COVER DATE: MARCH 17, 1981
