Never mind that. Grandparents have 0.0 rights over a grandchild when there is a living parent. The whole story about this custody battle is a load of implausible garbage. And Chad handing over his kid to Lucas the drunk and Adrienne, whom he barely knows? To what purpose. He would do what everybody I know does, get a full time nanny. I know lots of kids that are raised by nannies and they are perfectly fine. Who the fork does Jennifer think she is. And Bell tells Chad he should really consider giving CUSTODY of his flesh and blood to Lucas and Adrienne. This is just poor writing that defies logic. Maybe they need to keep Lucas and Adrienne on the canvas, but there are better ways that this stupid garbage. Such a joke. Just like Marlena putting Abigail in a crappy low-rent mental facility like she was a criminal. What would a Dimera do? He would hire a round the clock psychiatric nurse for Abigail, until she was better.
Marlena didn't put her anywhere. She suggested outpatient therapy.

And sure anyone COULD go to Theresa's bachelorette party, but do Gabi, Paul, and Sonny even know her? They're not her friends.

I seem to remember Marlena suggesting that hospital, saying it was close by, and was very good. I think what happened was that the Dr. assigned to Abby at the hospital just did not give her the attention and right meds she needed. She kept having her hallucinations, which got worse and worse.
And yes, the writing was abominable for it all. And Jennifer's only reason for wanting custody has been because of Chad having the last name of DiMera. No other reason.
It truly is a shame that NO one does even 5 minutes of research in re: some storyline points.
But then, it is Salem, one is to suspend disbelief at whatever goes on.

Yes. She suggested a hospital AFTER they tried outpatient therapy. But instead of trying outpatient therapy, they went straight to the clinic.

Paul knows Theresa. He hit on her when he first came to Salem for his shoulder surgery (he was hiding the fact that he was gay).

Sounds like the perfect invitee for her bachelorette party then. He also was at her engagement party because he's Brady's brother. He's still not her friend which was my point.

That's not entirely correct. Grandparents have no rights of visitation where there is a *fit* living parent who can make good decisions that are in the best interests of the child and the parent is declining the grandparent visitation. But grandparents certainly have the right to file for custody or visitation if they so desire. They won't win, but they can try.

If Jennifer believes Chad is unfit at the moment to have a child in his presence and properly take care of him (which she does), she has a 100% right to file for custody. No judge will *give* her custody because of her late night bender, which she realizes, not to mention her main argument against Chad seems to be his last name.

As for Lucas and Adrienne - the Court would have them investigated by child protective services. Lucas has been sober for nearly 20 years. That will probably actually weigh in his favor, that he beat his addiction and stuck with it. Adrienne is certainly a fit parent. Considering all that, plus the fact that Lucas and Adrienne are Thomas' great uncle and aunt, respectively, both by blood, and coupled with Chad agreeing to them having the baby, a Court would probably be very willing to accept the consent agreement.

Let's also not forget that custody arrangements are *never* permanent, and this one is not meant to be. I'm pretty sure both Jennifer and Chad specifically mentioned it was temporary. Lucas and Adrienne aren't going to get the baby and decide they want to keep him. Once Chad feels more ready to better handle a baby, they'll give him back.

I think it's a perfectly reasonable and realistic solution, to be quite honest.

Regarding Chad getting a nanny, the whole point is that he doesn't want Thomas in the mansion right now. Having a live-in nanny would defeat that purpose.

Technically anyone has a right to question someone's parenting and to attempt to sue for custody. I just wish they'd make Jennifer's concerns more clear...especially since Chad doesn't even seem to completely disagree with her. I'm not dying to see Thomas in peril, but if they were going to write this story this way, they really needed to show him in danger at some point. Chad is apparently about to be working closely with a kidnapper. I wonder if that will come up or if anyone will even know.

Lucas is an alcoholic, but when was the last time he was drunk?

I think the most ridiculous thing is Chad saying that focusing his energy on rebuilding DE will make Abby proud. I can't see where he got that from. Abby couldn't care less about DE.

LOL, I hope they aren't still rigidly telling sets of stories on alternating days at this point.

Cliffhanger: Orpheus crashes the wedding (thanks, Orpheus) and threatens peoples' lives!

Next episode: Chad tries on clothes! We'll get back to mortal peril at the wedding on Friday maybe!

I wonder why they didn't save this story for sweeps?

And will they have something even better? I find that hard to believe. But maybe they were worried about ratings and wanted to get a jump on them? But they still need to have something really good planned for November sweeps, don't they?

Thank you JCP.

OMG, that almost looked liked E.D. standing behind Brady.

So that is where the blue dress comes in with Marlena.

Does Orpheus have something against Shane, or does he just grab someone?

I can't help it, I think I might like the 3 bad guys stories. Who will Orpheus go after to torment John and Marlena? I know he will go after Joey to torment Kayla and Steve. I wish it was Stephanie.

I'm super pumped that Eve & Nicole will be sharing scenes. I really hope it's not just the three of them at the bachelorette party, that would be so awkward.

Yay to Laura & Kate sharing scenes!

Other than Anne, who else would go?
Well she is a Brady so Caroline, Hope, Kayla, Marlena, Maggie, Kim, Brady's sister Belle, and of course Anne. LOL

I'd guess Orpheus targets Claire or an off camera belle to get to J&M. But since we know Claire is left with them, it's probably her. I wish we'd see them with her.

Orpheus probably doesn't know who eve is. It looks he grabs her and then tossed her aside later from the promo.

Actually, it was Theresa that was pursuing Paul in the hopes of making JJ jealous. He was happy to use her as a "beard" until he found out that Sonny was in town.
