I have never understood this need to make the younger characters clones of their parents. Let them have their own careers.
I don't want Abby to be a clone of her parents (she isn't anyways), but her hospital job was boring and they had already established her as a writer in college.

I'd rather the younger ones be clones that to keep watching the parents repeat the same stories year after year.
I don't think one automatically fixes the other.

I would like Abby to have a career she's passionate about. I believe she's passionate about her father's legacy and the written word.

The hospital job was just... A job.

I like JJ as a cop, which is quite far away from his parents' careers. But the Spectator would suit Abby as we know her to be.

It would also lend itself to endless story.

I don't remember that but it kinda proves my point if they early on decided to have Abby follow in her parents footsteps.

Hair and Makeup Room in the WAGS video shows Christopher Shawn and Eric Martsolf. It's blurry, but I think Melissa Reeves is in a chair and Camila Banus and Billy Flynn are in a corner.

I'm still wondering about the sides in her audition mentioning Mike. That would be a return I'd love.

So I just watched the most recent episode of WAGS and the one cast member on there, Barbie, got a guest role on DAYS as a waitress at the town square. They showed her scenes with Missy and in the scene the waitress made reference to Jennifer working for the SPECTATOR!!! And then as the scene went on Jennifer looks like she's taking notes, as if the waitress is giving her information on a story Jennifer is working on.
So I used to watch wrestling and one of my favorites was Barbie. It'll be cool seeing her if and when this scenes airs. Also I know that during auditions they sometimes just throw names on scripts to have a name to address, but I found it interesting that Barbie's character was interacting with a guy named Mike.

Also Barbie put on twitter that this episode will air in January.

Carrie and Austin. Eh... okay. I understand their importance to the show historically, but I'm less into characters who are perpetually the victim of someone else than characters who cause their own problems.
I agree. Carrie is too boring and passive to drive stories on her own and I'm not sure i'm interested in a 40 years-old perpertual victim, that kind of writing works more for younger heroines. That said, i do like CC a lot and i think Carrie should have a place on the canvas.
Tell that to Hope and Jen........

Woohoo!!! Carrie is my all time favorite character and my reason for watching in the 90s!! Love her and Austin!! Bout freakin time! Now don't screw it up Days!
LOL! I'm personally of the opinion that your all time favorite character might just be debatable.
Lol I should say FEMALE character!!😂

I'm not positive, but I think Marci is in the chair for hair and makeup at 39:09 in the video.

Jack and Jennifer ran The Spectator.

I don't think DAYS would torment viewers by having Jennifer at The Spectator without Jack. We're being teased, but with a payoff. Part of the tease was the few appearances of Jack's "ghost."

Yeah I wonder if the show is bringing back/recasting Mike Horton. Wasn't there a casting call for a doctor not too long ago with a past? This pretty much confirms the return of the Spectator (though I doubt a set as nice as 2002/early 90s will return would love to be wrong) and Jennifer as a reporter, which is exactly where she should be. I'm not sure about a return of Jack (alive that is)

Thanks GoodnightGracie!

SCRIPT PAGE FROM "WAGS" EPISODE LAST NIGHT...EPISODE # 13013 (JANUARY 30, 2017)...

Act Seven-Scene A: Horton Town Square - Day
[Jennifer is now alone. She is sipping a cappuccino when a waitress (U/5) approaches.]

WAITRESS U/5
Hey, you run the Spectator, don't you?

JENNIFER
[A little taken aback]
Yes, I'm the editor.

[Waitress takes a seat at table. Leans in confidentially]

WAITRESS U/5
Well, I have a scoop for you. My boyfriend works at the docks. Says there's some interesting stuff going on down there...

JENNIFER
I've heard some rumors myself. So what exactly is going on?

WAITRESS
I've got three words for you: Shay-dee-ness.
