OK seeing Paul say "because I'm John's son" makes me even more annoyed that Belle it's involved in this. These dumbass writers. :glare:

I don't think Orpheus said John killed his wife. He told Marlena "Your husband killed my wife," which is actually true. She was still married to the real Roman when she thought John was Roman, so her husband (at the time) DID kill Orpheus' wife
Was Marlena married to Roman when Rebecca was killed? I thought it was years before Roman even came to Salem?

Anyway, why didn't he say "Roman" instead of "your husband"?

I guess it's up for interpretation, but I tend not to think the script writers are that on top of things.
I re-watched all the 1986-87 Orpheus stuff on YouTube and I believe they mentioned that it had happened "7 years ago" so circa-1978-79
Tnx! I'm actually watching my 86 DVDs, but I didn't get to the Stockholm stuff yet. So, she wasn't married to Roman.

Sonny mentioned Will to Philip and I started thinking. I can can only think of one Philip and Will scene ever back when in 2001 when the Carpenter twins were playing Will.

Yep that's the exact scene I was thinking of.

EDIT: Kate is giving me major Cruella de Vil vibes in that scene lol.

why would Victor even accuse Orpheus of bluffing. why would anyone even say that?! that's gonna make him want to do it more. like... no, he doesn't bluff. If we know anything it's that he absolutely can & will attempt the things he says he's going to do.
Because in this case John was right. He wants to torture John/Marlena and eventually kill them but he wants them to dwell on him then he'll kill someone because of them to make them feel more guilty. If he has his way eventually he'll kill his kids and Marlena in front of him before finally putting a bullet in him or just walking away and letting John live with knowing his family is dead because of him.
Yeah, that's exactly my point.

No it all happened off-screen before Roman showed up in Salem in 1981 during Salem Strangler storyline.

Nice work, Paul  you're lucky John only got shot in the arm, he or Marlena could have gotten killed.

Don't worry, Vic and Maggie, just sit there on your butts while John is laying there bleeding across the room.

"I'm sure this guy is no match for your dad" but apparently Theresa is seeming as she nearly ended him with fire poker.

Sorry...I was about as unclear as Orpheus. By "at the time," I mean at the time she was kidnapped. Yes, she had recently married John (thinking he was Roman), but technically she was still married to Roman, since we now know he wasn't ever dead. I didn't mean they were married when Roman killed Rebecca.

It wasn't great writing, but he never said John specifically was the one who killed Rebecca.

Well, he was speaking to Marlena in the present tense so I took it to mean he meant John, her present husband, or else I think he would have said Roman to make sure we were clear about who he meant. I guess we'll have to wait til the next time the subject is brought up if it is.

Why is there only one cop at Brady and Theresa's? They seriously only sent one cop to the townhouse to try to capture an escaped convict? :blulaugh:

Wow, Sonny called Brady, and informed him that Orpheus escaped before the scene where Paul came back into the house to tell John and Marlena that Orpheus got away from him. Amazing!

It's so obvious this show has budget issues. It's kind of pathetic.

Brady is such a moron he's demanding information from a guy holding a gun on a woman. He gets so obnoxious about it that John has to call him down to get him to back off and realize that antagonizing the crazy man is a bad idea.

I know most hate that Paul is John's son but for me it's like the writers decided to write Paul how Brady should have been. His father's son, brave, honest, self-sacrificing and a little on the reckless/stupid side. Brady is too far gone. He's never going to be what he should have been but Paul can and is being written that way. So I'll over look anything and mainly my little head cannon has Paul as John's son from some one night stand or affair he had while working for DiMera before coming to Salem in 1986. Just age Paul a few years and it works. No cheating on Kristen. Tori did work for DiMera back in the day. Couple years older and it all works.

Die Maggie die.

Brady is utterly worthless. His father is shot and does he race out to check on him? No.

Xander why didn't you just kill her? She better recant and you be allowed free. I need Xander in Salem walking around free to terrorize Theresa before she leaves and maybe get Nicole away from Deimos. Clyde and Orpheus have a shorter shelf life but Xander could be released if the truth about the false rape charge comes to light. Come on show, be smart. Keep Xander.

Marlena is the smart one. She's been here before and knows not everything is going to be okay. John's trying to reassure her but she's not buying. A real death or two of the "main" characters would go a long way.

Will and Philip interacted some during the Kyle Brandt years. One that comes to mind is Will having sprained his ankle skiing or something. Sami was hovering too much for Will's taste, and he complained "Mom is going on like I lost a leg" before realizing that Philip, who actually had just lost a leg, was there. Philip laughed it off.

Sometimes it's like watching a bad local theatre production whose budget consists of donations.
