Uh, sorry but Marlena's a doctor and she would never tell Kayla about the inmate's escape after just having surgery, and she would have discussed it with Steve first and probably advised him to wait a bit before telling her. Ridiculous.

It's nice that Marlena and John are there for Steve and Kayla, but it would be nice if someone was there for them on occasion... Say, like their son Brady. No, Brady's having lunch or something, totally unconcerned that his dad was shot at his stupid wedding.

Shouldn't Caroline be sitting by Kayla's side?
They said Caroline was sick - that's why she wasn't at the "wedding."
Thanks

Caroline it would appear is only used now to bolster the Kiriakis clan!

I liked that John interrupted Steve and made him see that he should include Kayla in the decision making - a change.

I liked that Kate referenced back to her past where her children were abused as well.

I like that they had Chad overhear that Clyde was the one who changed the paternity results.

I enjoyed this episode overall, the best part was at the hospital with S&K and J&M, I loved Xander's phone call to Nicole and the stuff with Kate/Clyde/Chad as well. Cool music montage at the end, it reminded me of Sons of Anarchy.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I was just coming to complain about Deimos getting such a big role in this storyline. :D
I didn't see Deimos being a big focus today. He asked them all to move in which Nicole initially declined but I'm sure will eventually change her mind. Where is his big connection to this storyline and the sense that it is about him?

From what I watched the primary focus was on John/Marlena, Kayla/Steve, Kate/Chad, and of course the bad guys. The rest with Brady/Deimos/Nicole/Theresa was mostly just a conversation about moving in to the mansion. That wasn't a big deal to me. It's not like the bad guys are focused on Deimos.

I think they have taken a step back in having Rafe/Hope on as much too since the new writers took over. I expect that to heat up once Aiden reveals what he knows about Stefano's death. I have been wanting that to come out and Hope/Rafe get their due about what happened. So this doesn't bother me either. Much better than just having it dropped without any repercussions.
The fact of inserting Deimos into every single storyline is the problem added to the concept that suddenly HE is the protector is not unlike the Daniel saga. Insert him into every single storyline, and over expose

Okay Quigley. When I balance out the hits and misses throughout these last two weeks..... very good job. I am very entertained and actually intrigued and looking forward to the next episode.

I also really enjoyed this episode. Wednesday and Friday have really brought the A-Game. The montage of everyone hunkering and locking up was well done. Keep up the good work and momentum.

One irksome thing: This has got to be the 4th time Chad has gotten his butt whooped and 3rd time by a Weston. When will he hire a bodyguard? Why even come alone if you want to check on Kate, i.e. you know there's a possibility that Clyde could be near? He must know by now that he cannot fight.

Why are we seeing Steve calling everyone in his family to warn them, but we haven't seen J&M calling Belle, or the twins or Carrie?

Drake needs to cool it on all the facial gestures.

John's been following Marlena all around since the incident? Like where has she been wanting to go? She's still clutching her purse and wearing the dress she wore at the wedding, and John's just getting out of the hospital. Is she missing going shopping by herself or something? Stupid script writing.

I'm am totally confused about these hospital scenes! Wtf is going on?!

Steve called Joey. That's it. He asked John if he should call Stephanie, but John said no because the villains are in Salem. By that same logic, John wouldn't be calling Sami (assuming they know where she is these days) or Carrie. Eric's in jail. Belle and Shawn are in Hong Kong (although a phone call to them given that their daughter is still in town and potentially in danger would not be a bad thing).

But, Steve didn't call everyone in his family. Just the kid that is in Salem.

marlena and Kayla are standing in the doorway eavesdropping on JOHN and Steve talking, they go back in the room, steve comes in and says John was filling him in on Orpheus and Marlena says rather testily, "John, hm? John's here..I'm not surprised. I'll leave you two alone." She just saw him 12 seconds ago out in the hall with Steve, and she was with him before going in to see Kayla, of course she knows he's there wtf?

Today was pretty good. I liked the way the escape has made the canvas feel more connected.

I appreciate the Steve and Kayla scene for what they are. It's clearly an attempt to quickly move things after the big stall they were in and I'm okay with that, even if it bugs a little that it means things have to be so surface level. I loved Steve's dialogue about how Kayla's health scare set his priorities straight (although, again, it makes me ask why it was now and not any other time). And just his few lines about asking what she needed from him, respecting that she's still dealing with some scars, and vowing to prove he means what he says is all I've been asking for since April. It's truly the first time he's actually asked her what she needs him to do for her and it was like this breath of fresh air all of the sudden.

I appreciate that they addressed his habit of making decisions for her, but it was such a quick resolve that, again, it bugs just a little. I mean, she's been telling him this forever, but John says it and it's like "oh, gee, maybe you're right." But at least they addressed it, I guess. And I do like that Kayla asking him to move back in is about the threat at this point. It's movement in the right direction, but at least it's not all resolved overnight - just yet, anyway.

I liked the John and Marlena scenes with just them as well. And I am looking forward to J&M and S&K working together in this story.

The rest of the show as okay. I appreciate the "banding together" stuff with the Kiriakis family, but as I mentioned earlier it should have been done differently and involved John and Marlena with Brady and Theresa. The Kate/Clyde/Chad stuff was good, I'm just not a big Clyde fan and I really can't tolerate Kate these days, so it's hard to feel invested in that just yet. Maybe it will come. My video crashed before the montage, but hopefully I can catch it later.

Of course Theresa doesn't hate the idea of moving into the mansion, I remember how excited she was to be living there.

I'm surprised Higley doesn't just have the whole town pitch tents and live together in the HTS

I'd take it if it gave me full cast integration.

LOL at Kate scampering to the other side of the room and cowering in terror instead of trying to help Chad. Everyone for themselves I guess. :blulaugh:
