We aren't seeing this across the board necessarily, but it does seem that since Higley/Quan took over characters are interacting with each other more. We are seeing the family relationships that were missing.

The villains were exciting to me and I liked them short term, but I'm starting to lose interest. I'm afraid that unless they are allowed to divide up and target their true "hates" they are going to be a real let down. They are the most interesting thing about the show right now and aren't being used the way I want to see as a viewer. I want to see Xander go after Nicole and I want to see that story play out the way it should with Nicole as a strong woman that wins in the end. I like that Brady and Nicole are interacting again and I like Nicole when she is in scenes with Brady. I don't necessarily NEED Brady and Nicole to go romantic; I just enjoy them interacting because of their history. The villains would be more interesting separated from each other than as a trio targeting different groups of people.

Some of us love certain days and others love the opposite so to some degree they are at least giving the audience with its different tastes a little bit of something for everyone. That is much better than a focus on one pet story. But as a viewer (and I've actually tried for the most part to watch the whole show with very little ff'ing) the show isn't really exciting to me. There are shows that appeal to me because a character I like (not necessarily enjoy) is on, but I'm not sitting on the edge of my seating waiting for something great to happen. I want to be hungry for the next episode and even with the introduction of the villains I haven't felt that. But I think others might feel differently. I'd like to have the show really grab me and they haven't done that yet.

If there is one story I'm anticipating it is Nicole/Xander (not to be confused with a romance because I would detest that). I want to see him threatening and I want to see her refusing to let him have the upper hand.

I like the focus on the Kiriakis, but I don't like the story they are telling. And I don't like Brady in that mix. I hope at some point he'll be returned to the Black fold.

I don't hate Deimos as a character, but despite not being on long I think he actually needs to be rested and come back later as a true villain. Although I'm also of the opinion a little good writing can fix a character pretty quickly.

I love the Eve/Nicole friendship and I'd love to see that explored.

I think they have a lot of good things going, but they don't have the drama I want to see. The stories have potential, but I'm not seeing the chemistry come across on screen. I think I'm kind of disappointed that the show isn't better than I was hoping it would be. I think it can be, but it's just not yet.

I like that it's not as dark anymore. For many months, it was a hard show to watch due to that. I really like the fact that families are interacting and actually remember each other (except for maybe Hope with Claire, that still seems murky to me for some reason). I so appreciate that Theo will be dealing with Autism now. KP did an outstanding job last week when he had that meltdown when the lights went out. I'm enjoying the heck out of the three amigos too. I have even seen some romance in the show and that's something that was few and far between with the last writing team. I love to see romance on a soap and stories that kind of show at the end of the day that love does conquer all and the importance of family. I'm hoping to see that but also with some strong females too. I'm iffy on that. I look at Nicole and I want some romance for her but I also want her to be that strong feisty Nicole of the past. I don't like Deimos at all. The hard part is that I like VI and I've liked his other characters on other shows but I just don't like this character. I think most of it has been the writing. This character has been all over and I don't feel like I know where he's going to land. I'm also thrilled that Justin and Adrienne are being shown more. They are my favorite characters and have been since their first go around. Some characters I'm just plain old sick and tired of and I honestly wish that they would have rest. Brady, Maggie, Rafe and Hope are 4 that pop right to mind. If I have to see Maggie cry one more time, I swear I'll scream! LOL

I'm with Lysie in that the show is really really good or really really bad, there's no middle there. I'm hoping that this will get better. I know that writing a soap is tough. You have to make this stuff look fresh, new and exciting and when you've done it a million times I would think that it gets tough. I think that they are trying. I hope it only gets better.

For the most part, I don't feel like Days is a chore to watch anymore. That's a huge positive for me. The cynic in me is just waiting for the show to get bad again. Every single time I've thought it's getting better, it doesn't and gets even worse than what it was before. I'm really going to try and be positive about the show.

The show is better than it was, but there should be more deaths. Kill Deimos, Dario and Nicole unless Eric is coming back.

Kill and kill again and kill more and more. The more killings, the better!
How it's going to be a good show if everyone gets killed? I like the show with mix not only killing. Lol This is Dool not Terminator.

Killing off characters that don't drive story (like Maggie & Roman) could/should/would bring much needed drama to those left behind if they were killed off in tragic circumstances. Maggie dying of some hideous disease as her loved ones look on weeping...it also would provide a legit reason to bring back Summer one or more of her ACTUAL daughters. Roman dying in the line of fire saving innocent citizens... Those could be good stuff if written right, IMO.

Killing a character just for the sake of killing a character is...weird.

I haven't noticed all that many improvements, sadly. There are a few though:

-More family and character interactions/acknowledgements - characters now seem to be allowed to mention family members who aren't on canvas, though this could just be a fluke.
-Longer scenes (for certain characters, perhaps writer faves).
-Attempting to use history by bringing back someone like Orpheus.
-Less Ciara and Hope and Hernandez Family.
-Editing seems slightly better.

The things that I had hoped would improve but haven't and in some cases have even gotten worse:

-Brady Kiriakis - I think you all know what I mean.
-Victor and Maggie being lead characters.
-Bad, lame dialogue and stupid scripts (would it kill this show to write for an audience they don't assume are morons?)
-Dena Higley's patented meaningless event writing and misogyny.
-Horrible and inappropriate wardrobe for the seasons.
-Bad lighting and inconsistent timelines (WTF, is it day or night?).
-Too many flashbacks to scenes that aired only a few days earlier.

Meh...the villains are not getting enough screen time it's being sucked down by people like Deimos, Nicole, Chloe, & Philip...not to much Rope, thank God, but I'm sure more is coming.

Hope - less of Hope has definitely helped. Rope as a pairing is still meh, but Rope as cops is a little better. Hope with Aiden is still horrid.

Gabi - I just have never truly enjoyed her, and I still don't. Her stuff right now isn't bad, but it's not particularly engaging either, and she's acts like a 12 year old.

Chloe - her story is awful. And I don't enjoy her with JPL. So...

Aiden - I'll never understand why they brought him back. And there's no consistency with him.

Kayla - When she's allowed to talk and do stuff, she's fine.

Chad - He's not awful, but he's back to being just kind of meh. There's once again just not much to him.

Rafe - Same as Hope. Less of him has been better. He's okay as a cop. That's it.

Marlena - I don't think there's been a big change with her yet except that she's getting to interact with more people. I didn't really hate the writing for her under the last regime...there just wasn't much of it.

John - I feel the same about him as Marlena.

Deimos - IDK what else I can say about him. By far the worst character on the show. I'm mad at myself for being supportive of him earlier this year.

Ciara - Like Rope...less of her has been better. I also like that when she's on it's with the other teens and as a member of a family. They still need to recast, but it's better than it was.

Claire - I think she's supposed to be annoying now. We'll see once she's back from being kidnapped. She does play relatively believable as a teenage brat though.

Kate - She's better now than she was before. Her scenes with men/potential suitors are still awful, but her other stuff isn't so bad. But I wish they hadn't made her the kidnapper. Makes no sense and needs to come out.

Joey - Kind of like Ciara, he's better now because he's mostly friend and family oriented. They still need to recast.

Philip - I can't with JPL. I think he's terrible. Similar to Deimos, I was supportive of the recast at first, but I'm done now.

Theresa - I'm not complaining, but I think it's a little weird how little she's been on. She got another personality transplant, and this one is so dull...but at least she's not all up in my face. I hate that they just had her give her up dream. Brady has no dream. Let him stay home.

Brady - The writing for him is probably the worst for all characters. It's pretty much always been shaky for him since 2008. IDK if now is worse, or if I'm just done.

JJ - He's just boring. I don't even know what to say about him. I don't even know what I would want for him. I could easily forget he exists.

Steve - I mean...he's fine I guess. I'm just tired of things being about him.

Andre - Completely irrelevant. Has no place on the show.

Theo - His scenes with the kids were fine. Not much else to say about him yet.

Jennifer - I'm not sure what to say about her either. I'm glad they wrapped up the custody stuff, and I enjoyed the Horton stuff this past week. Otherwise, she's got nothing going on.

Abe - He's always the same. Meh.

Maggie - At least she's on less. I continue not to be interested in her as the Kiriakis matriarch.

Paul - I don't have an issue with him. I'm not crazy about Paulson, but I'm not anti either.

Sonny - I like him with his parents and with Chad. I hope he gets out from under Victor.

Roman - Nothing to say there

Dario - Shouldn't have existed in 2011, shouldn't exist now.

Nicole - She has gone from being a favorite of mine to being one of the worst characters on the show. I have no desire to watch this character at all.

Victor - His jokes are stale, and his family are a bunch of idiots for continuing to kiss his ass.

Lucas - Not much to say about him except that he's in a terrible pairing. And I wish they'd reference Allie

Adrienne - I just don't care for Adrienne anyway, but I hate how they have her acting 17 with Lucas.

Julie - She's obviously not doing much, but I like that they're having her continue to hate Gabi.

Justin - I like Justin, but I wish he'd take out Victor and Deimos. He becomes pitiful around both of them.

Eduardo - I still like him. I really wish they'd give him a purpose.

You were so right about everyone, especially Nicole. I have some issues with Nicole walker that I used to love so much is gone and it's hard to recognize her. She went from the best to the worst character ever ,especially when she open her mouth talking about her abused dead fiancé. I'm hoping with new writers they can give us the old Nicole back. She's much fun and likeable when she's bad girl and gets what she wants .

I haven't watched much but I will give my impressions of what I have seen.

I like that the bubbles are bursting and families are interacting more.

I don't like the contrived Gabi working for Chad stuff and her suddenly being upset with JJ over him supposedly not paying attention to her. She's just vain.

I want to see more of JJ and the writers have said JJ and Gabi were a big priority, but so far JJ still hasn't been on that much. Or at least it seems that way.

Jennifer doesn't really have a story and that's a negative for me.

I'm looking forward to Abigail's return.

Doesn't remind you how much Ciara liked Theo and when she worked for chad as a nanny for his son, she became rude to Theo and out of nowhere she started to have feeling for him and that's exactly they're doing to Gabi. She works for him and get half naked because she's in a painc room and get hot. That's forcing. I can't wait to to see new Abby. Hopefully she has chemistry with BF/Chad and knows how to act.

I think it can be argued that Nicole is not the worst character ever. If I focus soley on characters currently on the show I would put Maggie, Victor (even though I like him is mysogyny makes him worse), Rafe, Hope, Cierra (a character I used to adore), JJ (because he's boring), Gabi (because she's boring), and I'll leave it at that because that is really enough to make my point.

Do I enjoy Nicole's story right now? No. Can I enjoy her again? Absolutely. Is she the worst character on the canvas? Absolutely NOT!

She's much fun and likeable when she's bad girl and gets what she wants .

I think she had further to fall than those others did.

Thank you JCP.

I agree about most of your items, lsie.

Steve being my favorite character, I would add that I want it to be about Kayla for a change too. I have two ideas for story for her that I know the writers won't ever do because they got to keep her character almost perfect and never doing anything wrong or hurtful. Yeah, I know about the Shane stuff, but I didn't watch it.

Honestly the show/writing is hard to judge (im not fully caught up either, still having hard time wanting to watch) because I would think this period of the show is still transition and this prison break storyline is meant to propel future story. There aren't really any storylines at the moment.

Worst character Nicole,no... but maybe third runner up..to Ciara, Deimos, & Dario...Dario of course to me is the winner of that contest.

Long Live Stefano (RIP JOE)

Nicole is def not the worst character on this show If I had a dead fiance I wouldn't be over it just like that Let's be realistic I just wish they take her character somewhere else instead of stupid love storylines That always end up the same way with her lying about something or competing with some other woman Like have her go find her child or her well alive mother or something
