Well today had good and bad. I liked the black family scenes at home. I feel like I should complain about wanting more since it took ten months to get John Marlena and Claire to speak to each other and since we've suffered through all the recent Kiriakas family scenes. Love John's goodbye's to Claire and Marlena. That coming back from the door reminded me of how he used to leave the penthouse.

I agree the hold up should have been two separate interactions. There was too much going on at once and then the villains were gone.

I hate the baby story. Really everything about it
:'( :'( :'( Oh my sweet penthouse!! I will never understand why they got rid of it!! I guess budget but still!!

Claire complained she was kissing her career goodbye. John said if she doesn't listen she'll kiss her life goodbye lol
What career? She has no recording contract yet. She has a YouTube channel with a few songs on it (not sure what quality they are). Her job is playing errand girl to Chloe, making appointments and picking up dry cleaning etc. Big deal. She is more upset about not being able to get connected to the internet than the safety of her family. She is a self-absorbed selfish spoiled brat.

I still remember when John woke up from his coma in '07 and Marlena said "I sold the penthouse... I know, but it was just too lonely there without you" or something along those lines.

I was like NOOOOOO!!!! MARLENA WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!! HOW COULD YOU!!!?? LOL. I was just devastated and then they gave us this ugly townhouse.... ^o)

I hate to say this but the new writing is really insulting to our intelligence. These escaped convicts are more idiotic than the Salem PD. We all know Orpheus and the gang aren't going to actually kill anyone, but this whole story could be written a LOT better. Instead of being exciting, it's predictable and silly....

Marlena thanked John for showing up. John wants to know if Claire and Marlena are ok. They said yes they're and Kate thanked John for saving her life.
Orpheus and Clyde both got away?!!!

Totally!!! :hail: Has she even mustered up a word about being worried about Joey? And honestly what is a YouTube channel going to accomplish?? Like you said, she does not have a career, she's an errand girl. Her mother was setting up bone narrow drives and habitat for humanity for the homeless at her age... I hate to compare but Claire just looks fickle and stupid in comparison.

I liked the Black family scenes too especially the way John handled Claire. His kiss goodbye to Marlena was a sweet tender touch. His turning over Claire's tablet was perfect, but would it have killed them to have her at least say, 'Goodbye grandpa, Be safe'?!
She's so self obsessed. But I agree I liked how John handled her today. Some of the looks Marlena gave her cracked me up. Taking the extra ten seconds to come to Marlena was a nice end to that scene

The writing is awful and ridiculous. These three convicts share less than one brain.

And the dialogue? Ugh....

BTW -- Philip has had three different hair styles in this single episode. Nobody noticed that when editing?!

I loved John's look when Marlena said "Claire is upset... She's upset because her tablet isn't working" lol

I think she's supposed to look pretty silly right now, but a youtube channel can actually accomplish quite a bit. But no internet for a little while wouldn't devastate her "career."

True. But you'd think John the super spy would have better wifi at home lol. But I guess She's having problem all around town even before the power outage.

I think the stuff with Orpheus/Marlena/Claire was good. I think the stuff with Kate/Clyde was good. They should not have been playing out simultaneously. It took away from both things and killed the momentum of the whole thing.

Also John totally saved Kate first.
JATE!

I kid, I kid. I'm a total John and Marlena fanboy. Having said that, though, I always enjoy a John/Kate interaction. One of my favorite scenes was when Kate showed up at the hospital after John's hit and run and John opened his eyes. Marlena's line, "It took Kate to wake you up." It was so simple, but so so good. I'd like more of that please.
I think he called her Katie today, too.
Double  Although I do like it more when he calls her "Katherine."

I find it funny how the resident's of Salem can have their house broken into and their family held hostage in it... then tell them to "stay in the house" like it's the safest place on earth!

Then they go out and about knowing that there are psycho's on the loose and instead of walking around with ALL the other people in town they cut through an alley because it's a short-cut!

Are TBTP deliberately making these people look stupid?

Well there's no power so that's the real problem.

Why would Steve think Kayla staying at the house was safe when Orpheus had just broken in, held them hostage, shot Steve and kidnapped their son. Heck the Salem PD would be a safer option.

Are they deliberately keeping FauxRo out of this storyline!? Cause we haven't seen him in weeks. Not that I'm complaining lol.

Claire is a good example of how the writing for the character can make one like/dislike the character. Her total focus on the tablet while John was explaining safety prodedures to her and Marlena caused me to want John/Marlena to give her atleast a harsh lecture on the seriousness of the situation. The fact that she is still upset about her internet connection even after the close encounter which could have resulted in serious injury or death does make her appear to be a selfish idiot.

If Orpheus threatening to kill Claire, and there being actual gunfire near her doesn't cause her any fear, there is no hope for this hopeless narcissistic little twit.
