It's the mentality that leads to the action of rape. The culture that breeds this anger and possession over women. It absolutely is.
So all the men who have used crude language have raped a woman? And speaking from fucking experience words are not the same as RAPE.
They're not the same physical action, no. Obviously not. But as far as I'm concerned, perpetuating a culture and a type of behavior that may influence untold thousands of other people to cross the line between what is acceptable (apparently talking about sexual harassment) and what is not (rape) is very, very bad. A non-apology is not enough to excuse this as if it isn't harmful. It absolutely is. Especially from someone who is a powerful public figure, it's reckless and irresponsible on TOP of being disgusting and abusive. People worship this man, people who have children who hear them praising him left and right, children who are still learning the difference between right and wrong. I think about the reach this has. I think of the effect this could have on subsequent generations. Not everyone who commits a rape does so spontaneously out of some sort of primal urge or inherent evil. Sometimes, it's learned behavior. I, for one, don't want anyone learning anything from this sexist, racist, xenophobic, narcissistic, selfish, spoiled con man. I fear the kind of country he'll leave behind if we don't treat this kind of behavior proprotionate to the monumental amount of potential damage it could cause.

CNN says Trump has a video statement that's ready to air soon.
He had better accompany that statement with a substantial public donation to ARROWHEART.

KweenBoda, what conversation are you having right now? Because I swear if anyone makes a post, you reply with some bizarro post about something that was never said or implied.
Bizarro? Sorry but I'm just reading some Femonazism here and it bothers me a little. Men rape and so do women because they are sick fucks. Not because they are emboldened by crude words. It's not societies fault. It's their fault. Is this post hard to understand?

Bill Bill Bill. Her husbands actions are HIS. I really wish this sexist "But Bill..." Crap would stop. A woman isn't her friggin husband.
When she shamed and degraded the women he assaulted and had affairs with and she tried to destroy them she IS culpable. Simple fact.
Right, because the wife is supposed to be respectful & forgiving to the female who slept with her husband?

Quoting limited to 3 levels deepYes.

Is condoning/condoning by default for not calling out such disrespectful comments because "boys will be boys" part of rape culture? Yes.

Are those comments as damaging as being physically raped? No.

Is every man who uses such language and have such thoughts a rapist? No. But all rapists benefit from and sometimes thrive off the silent acceptance of such mentality.

What Trump said is unacceptable. What Billy did was unacceptable. Just because rape culture attempts to make that behavior acceptable, doesn't mean it actually is.

There is no "boys will be boys" argument that will ever make such sexist commentary "okay" and it's time everyone stops letting themselves get brainwashed into thinking there is.
I never said what Trump said was right. But I know damn well that spoken words does not compare to rape. Reminds me of this group I read a while back that actually believed you can rape a woman without touching her. If that's also your belief then we are from different planets.
No one is saying the spoken word compares to or is as bad as physical rape. We are saying it is part of the culture that, among other things, helps create sexual assault. (Although I know from my work that the spoken word in the wrong circumstances can cause very serious mental health issues.)
One person was saying that earlier.

Personal responsibility. 2 words that are lost. So should a rapist say he raped because of society?

Just your thought process. Because again you're missing the entire point of what was said and what is continuously being said.

But maybe you're doing that on purpose just to argue? I don't know that's your problem, not ours.

I feel sick for Ari.
and Nancy O'Dell. Both of their names are being dragged into this scandal and you know there's always a bunch of crazy people who will start harassing them on social media.

All but one person are talking about rape culture. Which is not an excuse but is a problem that propetuates rape in our society. However, you're choosing to fight one person's point with everyone else.

You are correct, the physical action of rape is far more damaging. I concede. But, with words then come action. Which is why we must be careful in how we refer to one another. Always with respect, no matter the situation.
