Mike Pence is literally Satan.
I'm pretty sure Hillary Clinton is satan.

But of course every Republican is evil, dumb, racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. I've been hearing this from the media and the left my entire life. It gets tiring. Even nice, Mormon Mitt Romney got labeled as such. The biggest intolerance I've experienced has been from democrats/liberals calling me a bitch and cunt for my own opinions. Seems like many can't handle different points of view.
Yeah & that goes both ways because the biggest intolerance I've experienced is from christian conservatives. I've been called "f*ggot" & told to "get AIDS & die" for showing support to the LGBT community. I've been damned to hell hundreds of times & told by a man who was sporting a Trump cover photo on FB that he will "pray for me when my babies get raped by a black thug."

And I've been told to go mop the bathroom floor and called a "half breed" by Trump supporters. The hate comes from both sides.

I'm very glad that Shawn Christian is not Daniel Jonas and that he and AZ do not have Daniel/Nicole's dynamic.

I hope they got the hell out of the reach of the media and will find a way to enjoy the weekend.

I came from a horrible abusive background as did my 4 siblings. We saw and heard and felt horrible things. Not one of us turned into a rapist or serial killer. I firmly believe you have to have something wrong with you at birth to commit horrible things. I honestly don't believe it or society is the cause of criminal acts. To many psychopaths have used a bad childhood as reasons for their acts. Then how did me or my siblings turn out to be sane. (And yes I'm sane lol) Maybe I'm wrong but in my experience that's what I know to be true.
It has nothing to do at all with whether your experience is right or wrong. I did not experience abuse myself, but I know people who have, and they did not repeat the cycle either. I don't believe anyone's experiences are "right" or "wrong" and if you think that's what people in this thread are trying to assert to you, I'm so sorry, because that's immeasurably hurtful, but I also think you've misinterpreted the posts. Or at least mine, anyway.

It's that not everyone's experiences are the same as yours. Other people DO grow up to continue the actions of their guardians. Some people who grow up in abusive homes or have abusive experiences (or are taught abusive behavior) go on to perpetuate it. With that knowledge in mind, if we can do anything, large or small, to prevent that, shouldn't we stand up and try? I realize that this is not at all the same topic, and I hesitate to use the example in case I'm being ignorant of some offensive detail, but do you not believe that slavery in this country was perpetuated, at least in part, by the fact that it was considered a societal norm? Everyone who owned slaves did so ONLY because they were sick fucks, and not because they grew up in a house where mom and dad taught them that black people were property? That's learned behavior. If you believe with all your heart that another human is inferior, you're not going to feel guilty when you hurt them. Same with women, IMO. If you've been taught they're not your equal, what's to keep you from taking what you want? They don't feel hurt like you do, they're lesser, so what's the real harm in it? I do believe that there are people born sick, and people born with a tendency to be kind and good, but there is SO much more at play than just your natural instincts.

My point there is that Donald Trump is in an extreme position of power at the moment - the one able to do some of the teaching to our children and young people, whether we like it or not. He has permeated our daily lives. He's everywhere, and unfortunately he's the kind of person that can perpetuate the inhumane idea that one person can take something from another without consent and it's okay. As far as I'm concerned, the damage this causes is not even remotely quantifiable.
Exactly.

All the credit in the world to the previous poster and siblings for breaking the cycle, but the cycle is a thing for many others. It was even brought up on Days this week-- both Marlena and Clyde talked about how Clyde beat Ben because Clyde had been beaten by his own father and wasn't able to behave in a way other than the one modeled for him. Days writers didn't invent the concept to fill a need for dialog.

If young boys and men hear over and over in locker rooms that if they're rich and powerful enough, it's okay to grab a woman's pussy without her say-so, it's a lot to ask that they spontaneously realize that that's not actually true. Learning to separate the truth from joking/posturing/lying is a difficult part of maturing that starts when small children believe that everything spoken to them is the absolute truth and goes on from there. Many young boys and men have fathers and brothers and neighbors and teachers who are modeling appropriate, respectful interpersonal relationships. Some don't, and some are taking the so-called locker room banter as gospel because no one else is talking to them.

That's why it's not harmless.

I couldn't blame someone for not wanting to watch a celebrity who has said something hurtful about their very identity. For me, actors and characters are pretty separate, but in any case that's watching fiction. People's lived experiences will naturally take precedence for some, and if you've ever been bashed or discriminated against for your sexuality, gender, race, ethnicity, etc, that hurt can make it hard.

Accusations of sexism and racism and homophobia can be incorrect and even hurtful, but they target choices, not innate things about one's identity that one never chose. That difference is significant.

Yes, and most rapists are not psychopaths (and actually most psychopaths are not criminals). The great majority of rapes are committed by acquaintances, often date rapes. These people are usually not psychopathic serial rapists, they are coworkers, friends, boyfriends, so on.

Mike Pence is literally Satan.
Calling someone literally Satan. What happened to words matter?
God forbid a governor be judged for how he governs. It's not like Mike Pence:

wanted to take funds from HIV/AIDS care and use it for Gay conversion therapy.

severally slashed Indiana's funding for clinics that screened for STD's, which in turn lead to a horrible outbreak of HIV.

wants to end birthright citizenship

blocked Indiana's statewide & local minimum wage increase

Wants to see Roe v. Wade overturned

And a whole mess of other political moves that has earned him the ire of more than half of Indiana. Pence is a hard conservative that can truly do damage to American citizens when he's in a position of power. So, yeah I think he's satan and yea I don't want him anywhere near the white house.

Anyway, this is all so tragically boring and a pretty obvious attempt to distract us from calling out Trump's behavior. :yawnz: Enjoy defending the orange potato man and his lecherous ways.

I don't trust Hillary, but Trump?

The comments he made about Ari are unacceptable and awful, but they're part of the bigger problem that is Donald Trump. He's not only a misogynist, he's a bigot, too. He's spoken out against Mexicans, handicapped people, a prisoner of war. He doesn't take responsibility for himself. If he's challenged in any way, the first thing he usually does is insult the other person, complete with name calling, and attack them. It's his pattern.

He's immature.

I have to wonder, if he's elected, how long it would be before he offended someone enough to cause some kind of war. He'd probably cause more than one. He doesn't think first. He attacks, uncaring of potential consequences. It's clear he has a hair-trigger temper.

I think he'd be a dangerous president.

Women are animals in Bill Clinton's eyes. Those were Bill's actions, but Hillary was actively involved in trying to cover up all of the countless allegations of rape and sexual assault by Bill Clinton. That's on her and it's relevant and shows what type of person she is. Hillary knows Bill is womanizer, brushed it off, and stayed married to him. Oh and she tried to destroy his victims as well. Some feminist she is! If Hillary has any decency she would have divorced Bill, but it was all about obtaining power for her. She has stayed with a man worse than Trump for over 30 years. She doesn't care about women. She only pretends to for votes. She's no better than Trump by labeling the middle class a "bucket of losers."

Trump's comments were horrible. At least he apologized and owned up to it. Juanita Broderick, Gennifer Flowers, and Kathleen Willey (among others) are still waiting for an apology from Hillary who dismissed them as a "vast right wing conspiracy" and labeled them "bimbos" and "trailer trash."
Brushing it off as "locker room banter" is an apology these days?

Enabling your immoral husband's behavior through the years OK?

This thread should be removed.
I am definitely finished with it.

I like this writeup from Yahoo, called "Who Is Arianne Zucker?" It highlights her as actress, mother, founder of a charity... you know, a person.

I hope Arrow-Heart gets a cash boost as a result of the garbage to which AZ is being subjected.

Multiple pages into the thread and Hillary's name wasn't even mentioned. It's possible to trash Trump for the pig that he is without openly supporting Hillary and it seems like everyone was doing that until your comment about "political BS." Nice try.

There may have been political motivations behind this leak, but it leaked and involves Days so it's obviously going to be discussed. Sorry you can't handle that.

Because it was posted here the administration knew what would happen. And considering their political leaning I'm quite sure they are enjoying it.

However, Paul Telfer suggests that getting sucked into fixating on hating Trump would just take away our power.
And he suggests directing our energy to donating to charities.
A class act.
