Yes debate is important,I will have my iPad handy to look up Trumps tweets or videos when he denies every saying something he did say like in the last debate,my fingers were on overload in the last debate,I was exhausted by the end,I did laugh when he said Hillary's been fighting ISIS for her entire adult life, only been active since 2004,but maybe it was his way of calling her young.

I know I'll take a hit for this post from some, but this man is demented. Hillary has my vote. I have 3 grand daughters and I want them to see no part of him. Goofy SOB.
Also, my son has MS and is in a wheel chair. To see Trump ridicule the disabled just makes my blood boil. Trump needs to get down on his hands and knees and thank God, he is in pretty good health.

Just wanted to chime in and say kudos to the mods for not deleting this thread (yet). Too often (not here at DR but just in general) these kinds of conversations are not allowed to progress naturally because people have such strong opinions when it comes to politics that it can get messy very quickly. While some of these strong opinions have been expressed here, it's been refreshing to actually see them be discussed and not just swept under the rug, because these are important conversations to have.

My personal opinion: I hate that AZ's name has been dragged into this and I can only imagine what she's feeling right now, but I LOVE that "Nicole Walker" has a role in what looks to be the beginning of Trump's downfall. Love.

I've been voting since 1976, and for the first time, I'm considering not voting for any presidential candidate. Whoever wins, I hope they only serve one term, and all parties come up with better quality candidates in 2020.

Did u see him mocking Hillary's fainting from her pneumonia last week?God,I know people who have died from that and who have fainted,I had to call 911 for my mom a few years back after she fainted at a restaurant,he doesn't have to like or agree with Hillary on anything but to mock a person who had a health scare is demented and not presidential at all,I don't want a president doing that and kids thinking that is ok,it's bad enough I have seen stories of Mexican or Muslim kids in school being told they don't belong here because Donald Trump says so.😡

I wouldn't necessarily say that, but it's gone a whole hell of a lot better than some places I've seen.

It's one thing to have political differences when it comes to the economy or state vs federal or whatever. This election is very different. I know people want it to be as simple as "we have a difference of opinion" but it's just not. There's much more on the line for many people this time, and it's no longer a situation where a simple agree to disagree even makes sense.
Cannot be said enough.

*I'm not even an American, but this election is bigger than all of you. Nuclear football, I'm lookin' at you and imagining those six seconds.

I agree. And it's not just Trump, it's his advisors/team too. He would bring a team into power. And my biggest worry is that he and his team would set back human rights by decades and that he could send the world into nuclear war.

Very serious election.

👍🏻 This is the song he should've entered with at the convention instead of making Freddie Mercury roll in his grave.

I don't care if someone disagrees with me. I lived for many years with someone who was Republican, and I am not. We had some really great, perfectly civil conversations despite the fact that she felt differently than me about many economic issues, abortion, etc.

But having opposing views enters entirely different territory for me once the opposing views entail supporting a person who I feel is a direct danger to our country, and more specifically, to minority groups. I'm not prepared to watch my friends live in fear that their lives are about to fall apart while this schmuck railroads right over our constitution (and basic human decency, for that matter). He's an attention-seeking jerk, and the most dangerous thing about him, in my opinion, isn't that he's a racist or a sexist. It's that he doesn't give a flying fuck what I, or anybody else really thinks, as long as someone is whispering praise in his ear to feed his ego, putting money in his pocket to satisfy his expensive taste, and there's a giant sign flashing in gold lights somewhere that spells out T-R-U-M-P, to make him feel successful and important. That, as far as I'm concerned, is one of the most dangerous cocktails of motivation for a leader that I could possibly think of.

And most of us who support BLM want BETTER police training. People who want to serve their community, to keep people safe and catch actual bad guys, should be taught well, so they can also be safer and respond correctly in dangerous situations. Well trained, competent cops is safer for both the cop and the community.

Our police education, just the school time is at least three years. And getting in requires a near-perfect score, plus nailing the physical, in order to get in. And then you have trainee time on top of that. And police are just now, in the last year, carrying visible guns on the streets.

Interesting. What country are you from?

I tend to run far, far away from political discussions (you won't find one mention of these candidates on my personal pages). This thread, however, is one of the most civilized political discussions I've seen this election cycle. Minus a couple of wild cards, everyone has been open minded and honest. One more reason to love DR!

One last thought for the female audience who keeps remarking about Xander's (who happens to be an abusive asshole) (but that doesn't matter obviously) body and how they'd like him shirtless and trouser-less...do "they" know about the word HYPOCRITE?

They are as sexist as any man, and sometimes worse.
There's kind of a big difference between commenting on how nice of a body he has and saying you can literally do anything you want to the man because you're a star, and that you're gonna grab him by his genitals.

In my opinion, only one candidate is truly equipped to handle the job although I can't ignore that she is ethically challenged. All 4 major candidates are white people over the age of 60. 3 of the 4 have been candidates for the Presidency in the past. I'm 53 and white but I still don't think that demographic necessarily represents the general US public.

I'm hopeful that all of our disdain for what has happened this election season turns into more political involvement over the next few years. We have to make our opinions heard and make it clear that we will not continue to support career politicians that don't have their constituents' best interests at heart. (McConnell, I'm looking at you. Stop blocking the Power+ plan to aid suffering coal mining communities in your own state and hold hearings on Supreme Court nominees.) We have to push from the local level up to affect change. I am also hopeful that in four years there will be some fresh faces that are adequately prepared to take on the presidency.

It's been way better then on things like Facebook and twitter where Trump supporters have wished death on me,so when Hillary said "basket of deplorables" she wasn't wrong, nice, decent people don't do that.
