I like the tension in the room in that last scene.

I haven't watched yet, but for those who may have tuned in for the first time in light of the Trump Scandal, were the Nicole scenes good enough for new viewers to continue watching? Was the episode in whole intriguing?
Is Nicole in tomorrow's episode?
I'm not expecting first time viewers to answer my questions. I'm expecting regular viewers to be objective.

Today was the perfect encapsulation of what Dena Higley does well (relatively speaking). We had lots of different interactions, but the day started with little family/couple moments. So, we get this tiny bit of softness/emotion to start the episode which is nice. But it was also small enough that it can be very surface level (Dena's preferred emotional level). Then we move on to plot.
The J&M/S&K gathering was good, I enjoy seeing them interact and work together. I like Marlena putting together the profiles and all of them working on the plan. It shows our heroes (and heroines) being smart and resourceful and banding together. Then everyone splits up to recruit for the plan and we get some different interactions and expand the story, making it feel like a community of sorts. We get John with Dad voice, Marlena backing up Nicole's right to make her own decisions and fight back for herself, Steve snarking about the DiMera mausoleum and Kayla pointing out everybody has something on the line. It's nice. It's not anything spectacular, but it's watchable and semi-interesting and it keeps things moving along. But it also requires no real depth which is right up Dena's alley.
Then we end the episode with the little emotional moments again, which is a nice way to emphasize what's at stake and, again, are a little bone for the fans. I mean, I liked Marlena's line to John, and I liked the little side hug with Steve and Kayla. It works. So, sure, today was a decent episode. Not really good, not awful. And, in some ways, that's an improvement over a couple of months ago. But it's all just so bland. And it doesn't take a whole lot of bland before it stops holding any interest. And that's my fear with Dena. Even if she manages to avoid the dumpster fire storylines she created in the past, she lacks the talent (or the interest) in creating stories with any real flavor to them. It's only been a couple of months and while nothing has been really bad, there has also been almost nothing with any real substance. Maybe that's what fans want, but it's leaving me feeling kind of empty.

I'm not expecting first time viewers to answer my questions. I'm expecting regular viewers to be objective. Episode was OK. Mostly J/M/S/K formulating their plans and talking to Brady, Theresa, Deimos, Nicole, Chad and Kate.
Funny Lucas/Kate scenes... he wants her to move in to the DiMansion... there was an Austin reference.
Theresa being whiny and annoying.
Deimos being protective of Nicole... lol
Not too bad 2.5/5

And yes I liked today but it isn't something particularly noteworthy, which it should be given the severity of their situation in town.

I'm not expecting first time viewers to answer my questions. I'm expecting regular viewers to be objective. I doubt they will pick up many (if any) new viewers from that. If it was a actress from a show that I didn't watch involved, it wouldn't make me watch the show.

I thought it was really foolish to have Theresa complaining about taking care of Tate considering that she went for weeks not knowing if her child was dead or alive. And who is Deimos to throw shade at the convicts when he came to town to get revenge by destroying lives too. I really can't stand this character and they write him like he's been on the show for years and should have a major role.

It also didn't make a whole lot of sense when five minutes later they referenced the nanny being there.

Lucas wants Kate at DiMera mansion. He thinks something is up with her and Andre. He thinks she traded one homicidal murderer for another. Correct.

Lucas thinks the DiMera mansion is the safest place in Salem...I cannot even.
Abby should show up and be like let me tell you why it isn't...let alone the historical inaccuracies Faye Walker, the mayor shot dead at the front door...

On top of all the reasons why Deimos and Nicole already irk me- he's not tall enough for her. Also lol at Deimos calling someone a psycho kidnapper like Bo was willingly held captive and tortured. Just... lol. Nothing else to do but lol. Lol even more at Brady walking in as his ex is about to make love to his great uncle. Just....lol. Victor should probably replace every couch in the house.
Businessman Chad is oddly smarmy. Like it's not intentional, I don't think, but he comes off really smarmy.
Kudos to Lucas for reading Kate like a book. I love Kate, but her delusions about her own love life, chile...

Boring episode..
Yes, it was. They have made Chad so boring. They have. I used to look forward to watching any episode he is. Now I'm like "meh." Of course they have stick Andre in his story as well as Abby's.

AZ and VI just don't have chemistry and the story sucked for them since the beginning. :-/
