I think it would explain the overacting if the audience knew what the plan was and the gag was watching the criminals get ensnared in a trap everyone knows exists except them. But since the audience is presumably supposed to be in the dark too, the acting should not be convincing the audience that they are faking everything. There are two big ways to write suspense and whoever is directing the actors should probably have wondered how this was going to payout for the audience. If the acting is a tongue-in-cheek to the audience as well then don't end on the dramatic note.
I think their idea was to have them overact because the characters are not suppose to be actors so they would naturally overact when they're trying to convince the convict that this isn't a set up.
See that's the tongue-in-cheek audience in-on it part I get. But the dramatic end then is like..."okay?" I think they are trying to straddle both sides in terms of audience totally knows this is the plan and omg the baby, the audience is going to be tense waiting for tomorrow and it leaves me sitting here thinking "how odd!"

Where is pesty Tatertot btw?
Does anyone really care? lmao
Well, I don't LOL But it seems Theresa who was utterly exasperated by him earlier has pushed him off on her poor nanny, instead of bringing him to the doctor to see why he's been inconsolable.

It's like everyone was directed today to "be as obviously unafraid as possible- okay go!" My fave wtf moments so far are Chad's I spit on your grave sneer line and Nicole yelling at Deimos. Like seriously- wtf was going on
I laughed at that spit too. The only emotion from Chad that looked a little bit real was his anger when Clyde said Abby was a whore.
JR and TP seemed to compete in a scenery chewing contest while BF and BD looked mostly disinterested and JE seemed to be acting in her own scene with no connection to the other three. The whole thing was a big WTF moment.

Arianne was terrible from start to finish. The director must have been on something, because it's really a weirdly acted episode by everyone. Did they get their scripts just before shootingt?

BF has been phoning it in a lot lately. I want old Chad back.

Going to be optimistic, going to be optimistic...

* Deimos-Xander-Nicole sounds like a setup, but I need Xander to be smarter and not fall for things. If not a setup, I need Nicole to kick Deimos to the curb. (I need that anyway, but we just got a great reason for her to do so.)

* Nicole at Jonas Christ's grave seemed genuine. I'm hoping that this is closure for us too. No more mentions.

* Xander would be a fantastic villain for Ericole. Please let us keep him/ have him in town when Eric returns.

It was very odd. Plus, if it was a set up, why is Adrienne crying like a banshee over Chad when Clyde is no longer in the room?

Another thing.. If this was a set up at the DiMansion, where is Kate? Unless she comes into it after Clyde takes the baby. And are they seriously letting a baby be involved in this nonsense?

I wish Xander would tell Nicole I thought you have better test of choosing a hot and sexy man like me, Eric or Brady.what the hell is wrong with you to fall for monkey Daniel and father figure Deimos?

My guess for where this is going:

* Chad isn't bleeding nearly enough. I'm betting the shot was faked.
* Clyde is in a windowless room approaching a crying crib. I'm betting that's a fake baby and someone is about to capture him.
* Kate might be with actual Thomas or she might be the one to slam the door shut.

Adrienne was screaming like a banshee while Lucas looked like he couldn't care less. :blulaugh:

^ Maybe they kept Adrienne in the dark and told Lucas that it wasn't real. ;)

I love how Nicole Walker formerly Dimera and Kiriakis and hopefully soon NOT to be Kiriakis again is only willing to deal with certain murderous criminals and degenerates. Still love her to pieces and i guess it's different when you are the target.

Hmm that makes sense. I thought Gabi might have Thomas.

I'm actually annoyed because I tried to go into this week with just the preview (and the 2 spoilers i couldn't avoid on twitter grrrr) but this episode is taking me right out of the suspense of it all.

I don't know if I think he's phoning it in (I think some people just have really bad days...except Ciara, who has bad terms) but one thing I have noticed in regards to BF- is it me or has he developed the Chandler Massey inappropriate smirking disorder?

If this stuff today were indeed set uos, it hasn't been played out completely yet, so I'll wait to say whether I think it worked or not, but doing that kind of thing is super complicated and hard to pull off and I don't think Higley and Quan are talented enough to do it.

I also think the writing for Chad has been pretty uneven under DH/RQ. Their version of Chad is kind of a dumbass and the DE stuff with Andre and Kate do him no favor? But I don't have a problem with BF's acting.

It pains me to give a compliment right now (lmao) but JL looked nice in that blue colour today. It suited her, imo.
