Seems weird to me, too. Maybe because it is a really, really, really weird time to go into publishing? Maybe because her tumor markers came back weird and he thinks this is the wrong time to invest in a new business when she needs to be investing in her health? Adrienne and Jen decide to buy the spectator after the stuff with Hope is revealed? Is their whole purpose to provide pro Hope media coverage? You know that's a real possibility, right? |

The only thing I hate about the Stefano reveal is it'll probably have Chad trusting Andre even more. |

I would respect Hope more if she exposed herself TBH, but her supposed gnawing guilt hasn't gotten enough play, and if it's as disappointing as Theresa's confession on the park bench, then no thanks. At least Chad gets to confront her, even though I think Chad loving Stefano at all makes little sense and will only bring him closer to Andre -_- I hate to say it because I've always liked having her around, but I don't think I have any use for Hope any more. I actually like her as a cop, but how many times can she kill someone and get reinstated? I don't have any feelings about her relationship with Ciara, and it's awkward dancing around her being Claire's grandmother. Her friendship with Steve and Kayla was the last time I truly cared about her relationships, but S/K have Adrienne, Roman, John, and to some extent Marlena and Jennifer too. Same with Jennifer, she has Doug, Julie, Maggie, and her in-laws. Even if their friendship with Hope is more special, it's not like they have no one. In an ideal world I'd rather have her represent the cop shop than Roman, but that's not saying much and there are so many cop or cop-type characters now. The only hanging thread that I care about is Deimos apparently kidnapping Bo, I'd prefer if she was able to do something about that since that's what started her current mess and also because I'm more than ready for Deimos to go. But beyond that I don't care. I don't even hate her, I just can't think of anything more that I really need to see from her. If they can sustain pop-up Hope that'd work for me, but I'm a little skeptical of that. I hope S/K and J/M continue to have bubble-bursting scenes after the sweeps event. Wonder if Kayla and Marlena will contribute to saving themselves, although I guess it would mitigate the dudes' heroism narrative. I wonder what is going to prompt Jennifer into thinking of the Spectator all of a sudden. She has been trying to find a passion in life again but just this past week she was back to saying she had nothing to live for without JJ. Not that that's necessarily inconsistent, it would just be nice to have some new dialogue that makes it all flow together. I wonder if she and Adrienne will talk about empty nests, or perhaps they're thinking of Jack. I have really wanted Jennifer to be able to talk about losing Jack with Adrienne and Steve for a while now. Anyhow, I'm genuinely pleasantly surprised at Adrienne going in on this with Jennifer. It's a way to give Adrienne something to actually do on canvas and she does have a business background which Jennifer never has had. And I'm glad it's Adrienne and not someone like Kate or Brady. John already has a partner, Chad would have been cute but Dimera Enterprises comes with baggage. Sonny is a possibility and I guess Justin too, but Adrienne needs connections more. Julie might have been nice since she had bought the Spectator from Jack back in the day, but I bet we'd never see her much. No clue why Justin would be angry though, he always respected Adrienne's business prowess and was proud of her. Even though JPL shouts half his lines I'm into both Titan/Philip and Chloe/Philip. Of course it'd be better with JKJ *sigh*. Interesting that it's Brady who encourages him after the declaration of their little rivalry yesterday. Interested to see his scene with Nicole! Hope she isn't getting roped in to Titan though, I'd love to see her working at the Spectator. My expectations for anything Theresa are so low that it's hard to get truly excited about Shane and Kim, but seeing them as well as Nancy will be nice for what it's worth. I hope Chad rips into Hope for the majority of the episode & we don't have Rafe pop up 2 sentences into Chad's speech and take over the conversation to try to make Chad understand that Hope didn't have a choice, blah blah blah. The last time Hope was in this "arrested for a crime" predicament, there was a whole lineup of people who came to voice their opinions & displeasures about what she'd done (even though the last time, she had no conscious memory of having committed any of the crimes she had admitted to) and got to do so freely. This time, however, I'm not here for the sympathetic bits we got the last time. I want to see Doug & Julie (for example) be disappointed in Hope's actions, not just be all supportive cause it was Stefano & he had done many bad things in the past, so her killing him had some justification. I want to see Ciara be angry at her mother because of the situation it's now putting Ciara in, with the fact that Hope going to jail will mean that Ciara will have no parent to freely turn to for advice or that can come support her when she needs them to. |

I really agree hope confessing would have been a way better way to go to make her more rootable. Whatever she does now loses a sense of remorse or nobleness because she's in this spot because she was exposed. She's taken zero ownership of her actions. I'm so not here to hear everyone say how horrible what hope is going through is. Because I can see J&M, S&K, Shane, Kim, Jen, basically everyone doing that. |

I'm gonna need to see Theo's reaction to learning that Ciara's mom murdered his Nono. And then there's Abe's reaction, which shouldn't be accepting given the way he's been written prior. John/Marlena/Steve/Kayla could potentially be understanding, but I want them to also be angry. Particularly Steve, as he was trying to help Hope deal with Bo's death, but Hope wouldn't let him into her world then. Maybe Steve could even feel some misplaced guilt and that he could've maybe stopped Hope or talked her out of going to Stefano's that night if he hadn't given up so easily when he went to see her (I forget what he needed to tell her). |

I just don't feel like there's any chance at all that everyone isn't all oh poor Hope about this. And I totally agree that that's the reaction that would have made sense in 2010. Not now. She actually wasn't at fault back then when people lined up to yell at her. |

She's taken zero ownership because Rafe has convinced her that she did nothing wrong. Hope did have some guilt at the very beginning and she feared that the truth would come out, but Rafe managed to get her back on the "this is the best thing" train every time. If anyone is to blame for the fallout of this secret having taken so long to come out, it's Rafe. Yes, Hope pulled the trigger and shot Stefano. But it was Rafe & Rafe alone who made the decision to cover up the murder & frame Andre (even though, on the surface, it looked like Hope was the one that decided that they had to play out the framing the way they did. There were definitely hints that framing Andre had been something that they had discussed prior as a possible course of action.). One would, therefore, expect Hope to be angry at Rafe for having convinced her to cover up the murder in the first place, but the show is pushing Rope as this "destined to be together" couple so much that Hope will probably show more guilt in "having gotten Rafe involved" (which is complete bullshit cause Rafe had essentially followed Hope to the DiMansion and came upon her mere moments after she shot Stefano & Hope never asked for Rafe's help) than the fact that the murder was covered up. |

I'm just glad Ryan and Dena are bringing it out and movin on. Hope killing Stefano in the manner that she did was an atrocious decision. Beyond stupid because of all the crappy story that followed that move. So yes, deal with it and put it in the past. I don't need to see more story thrown on bad to drag it out either. Wrap it up. |

No. Hope's an adult. She isn't Rafe's puppet. Unless he's been drugging her she should still have the ability to make her own decision. |

if I hear another well he was a bad guy...UGH!!! Just because I guy's a dick and has done very bad things doesn't give anyone the right to go shoot a disabled man, point blank in his own home...and then go frame his own son! I don't care if he was Satan's brother, I want someone to react!! bit I'll probably get nothing. :shame: |

AGREED Hope was in a bad situation emotionally, but it doesn't IMO not completely excuse her actions...RAFE, had a clear mind, this guy is a dirty cop who needs to be setting behind bars. |

You would think that she would still have the ability to make her own decisions, but we haven't seen Hope written as strong & independent since she got stuck in her Rope bubble after shooting Stefano. The few times we saw Hope want to go and confess, it was quickly followed up by Rafe explaining why she can't do that and Hope giving in & saying that he's right. Hope has been written in a way that make it appear as though she really can't function without Rafe. TPTB didn't even allow Steve to give Hope a supportive hand after Bo's death. Everything was centered around Rafe and Hope spending as much airtime together as possible to push the ultimate agenda of having them be a couple. |

I just don't think we can excuse away her decision making as some sort of agenda Rafe had. Not to mention the fact she's also been a horrible mother. And that's solely on her. |

We've IMO seen her guided around by the nose by Rafe Hernandez |
