I think it's ridiculous. Theo has one parent left. You'd think Abe would do everything in his power to stay healthy.
Logically speaking, yes. But people don't often think logically in life.

This same thing happened to my uncle. My aunt was the type of wife I described Lexie as being. Once she passed away, my uncle kind of let a lot of responsibilities like that go because she always pushed him to do it. His health was one of those responsibilities and he was diagnosed with cancer that could've been detected had he gone to the doctor prior. Fortunately, it was treatable even in stage 2, but still. And they have 2 kids. One was college age, one was in high school still.
I understand that but Abe knew he had heart issues and he has an autistic son who needs him. It doesn't jive with anything we know about Abe that he'd let this go.

I can't stand Maggie but this continual 'leave so the men can talk' thing with the Kiriakas is insane
You know, I don't think it would be as bad if they had someone bring it up. I mean, there are a lot of men who think this way. I wouldn't put it passed any Kiriakis man to think this way, actually. However, it needs to be brought up as abnormal by someone else. The way they're writing it now, it's like this is just how it should be and viewed as normal.

I mean, we could have a female president in less than 2 weeks from now! Let's get with the times please.
Elizabeth Taylor's character addressed this sexist way of thinking in a great scene from the movie Giant over fifty years ago. :blulaugh: And that must have been some progressive prison Deimos spent the last thirty years in if he's so wise when it comes to business. Where did he get so much education from?
In a lot of prisons, inmates can earn college degrees. It stinks that they can get it easily when non inmates have to pay through the nose

How did they bring Abe back from asystole.

Asystole, also known as flatline, is a state of no electrical activity from the heart and therefore no blood flow. It results in cardiac arrest. Asystole is found initially in about 28% of people in cardiac arrest.[1]

Asystole is treated by cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) combined with an intravenous vasopressor such as epinephrine (aka adrenaline). Sometimes an underlying reversible cause can be detected and treated (the so-called 'Hs and Ts', an example of which is hypokalaemia). Several interventions previously recommended—such as defibrillation (known to be ineffective on asystole, but previously performed in case the rhythm was actually very fine ventricular fibrillation) and intravenous atropine—are no longer part of the routine protocols recommended by most major international bodies.[2] Asystole may be treated with 1 mg epinephrine by IV every 3–5 minutes as needed. Vasopressin 40 units by IV every 3–5 minutes may be used in place of the first and/or second doses of epinephrine, but doing so does not enhance outcomes.

Survival rates in a cardiac arrest patient with asystole are much lower than a patient with a rhythm amenable to defibrillation; asystole is itself not a "shockable" rhythm. Out-of-hospital survival rates (even with emergency intervention) are less than 2 percent.[3]

Today may be worth not watching. I am mad at Victor and star gazing in the park. I got no reason to watch yet. :headbang:
My sentiments exactly...

Rafe wants to be a father. For the Cubs to win the World Series. And to go to Egypt.

Again. What the man wants.
Please don't make Hope pregnant with Rafe's seed. Noooo!! Please NO!

I mean they've brought people back from being possessed by the devil, from having their organs donated, a little flatline is nothing.

My gripe is they did not do it correctly.
It is medically IMPOSSIBLE to defib and reverse Asystole. The writer needs to research the facts. It would have been more interesting if they had followed CORRECT medical procedures. Instead they flat line him for drama...then zap fix him.

Found out they zapped him on the tweets.

Why the hell would Victor choose Deimos? As much as I like VI, I hate the character of Deimos. He's awful and all of this crappy writing to make him an important character is making me despise him even more. He was in jail for 30 years, wth does he know about how to run a business? Blah. He's reaching Daniel and Melanie levels of hate for me.

He should have come out of prison speaking only Greek, and being a petty criminal. This is ridiculous.

I'm really tired of everything being written from the male POV. I want the women to get the same love. Not merely existing to prop "the boys". Women can drive story, too.
Not according to Dena Higley.

I wonder if part of the problem is that Abe/Valerie lack the built-in drama of David/Valerie. For me, it's just not as interesting a story to have her in Abe's life - unless they're going to cast David and insert that drama.

Could be. Valerie could be anyone right now.
