Really really really hoping for a John Aniston nomination. After so many years, he still brings it and I'd love to see him get some recognition.

I think most of the Days actors have a decent chance at getting a nomination. I think Judi Evans has a great chance given her material at the end of 2016. Kate Mansi *should* be nominated. I think Mary Beth has a better shot than KA in Lead Actress. Someone like VI could be nominated just based upon his cache in the daytime industry.

The only issue with most of the Days actors is that I'm trying to think of stand-out tapes, and other than Judi Evans and Kate Mansi, none are coming to mind right away.

Actually, now that I think about it, where are Arianne Zucker and Suzanne Rogers? They had killer tapes with Daniel's death. I know that Missy Reeves opted not to submit, which is crazy since she had that one great Jen-centric showcase. And no Stephen Nichols?

Hoping Kate Mansi gets nominated. She should be lead, but I see why she chose to go supporting...it's impossible to compete against long-time actresses with lots of friends in the industry. So she probably has a better shot at an actual nomination in supporting. If she went lead, the same thing that happened last year probably would have happened this year (she gets a pre-nom, but not an actual nomination).

I'm thrilled to see my girl Sharon Case listed in the pre-noms for Best Actress. She is constantly overlooked.

I can't believe all of the years to not submit, missy reeves chooses the year she likely could have won the damn Emmy.

She didn't submit last year. The show did it for her IIRC.

OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES
Gina Tognoni, as Phyllis Newman The Young and the Restless, CBS
Jess Walton, as Jill Abbott The Young and the Restless, CBS

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES
Elizabeth Hendrickson, as Chloe Fisher The Young and the Restless, CBS
Kelly Sullivan, as Sage Warner The Young and the Restless, CBS

I'm not commenting on who should or shouldn't be nominated.
My comments are about how the Emmys typed these names.

I know that is how those names are typed on the Emmys website.
http://emmyonline.com/day_44th_pre_nominations

But ... WTF?

Phyllis hasn't been "Phyllis Newman" since 2013.
It should say Phyllis Abbott or Phyllis Summers.

Jill hasn't been "Jill Abbott" in years.
She and John Abbott divorced in the 1990s, although she kept the Abbott surname for some time afterwards.
But still, she's being using the name Jill Atkinson for the past few years.
She should probably be listed as Jill Foster Abbott Fenmore Atkinson (or something like that).
I prefer Jill Foster, but my preference doesn't matter.
The credits say "Jill Atkinson".
The point is that she hasn't been an Abbott in many years.

Chloe and Kevin Fisher divorced in 2014.
I don't think she calls herself Chloe Fisher (even though she moved in with him recently).
She's listed in the credits as Chloe Mitchell.

Sage Warner.
Technically her character died as Sage Newman.
But it they weren't married very long so I won't worry about this one.

Re-emphasizing, I'm not commenting on who deserves the awards.
Just commenting on the inaccuracy of how the Emmys wrote the character names.

Theresa was listed as Theresa Donovan Black which also isn't accurate. Idk if she was credited that way at the end, but they weren't officially married.

Are you sure it's the Emmys people who wrote that? We can't watch the submissions but names of actors and characters usually are in those submissions. So maybe whoever submitted the scenes (actors, shows' employees) made those mistakes.

That's interesting because they managed to get Sharon's last name right who had always been known as Sharon Newman.

Why does Amelia Heinle always submit in Supporting? I would think she would try Lead by now. I mean she is a lead role as is, but she has also won supporting a couple of times. Oh well, I don't understand it much. Jess Walton, lead? I remember when she won back in the 90's. I think that might have been as Supporting Actress, but back then Jill was actually a lead character, lol.

Why does she keep submitting in Supporting?

Duh - they keep giving her Emmy's in that category...no matter how shitty her reel is.

Nah. It's not like it looks any different, and the "Emmy winning actress" lead in for magazines doesn't change just because the category does.
