Red is setting the bar seriously high when it comes to a potential partner. When she mentioned that she had the man once.......makes me think she is thinking of Philly.

Billy and Phyllis are so much interesting to watch and physically appealing than Victoria and Billy. And Billy seems happy when he's with Phyllis and always on under attack when he's with Victoria. I think Sally is making a mistake not to go with this paring.

well I am here for the more Philly scene. I can't believe Billy is telling Red, that he kissed her to get back at Boretoria. was those little lines from Philly, Sussman's way at hinting to a "No" Philly future. It's because he's been playing both sides like Phyllis said. I could be totally wrong but I think its to bring to his attention that he gotta make a choice.

40-Watt is so vulnerable when it comes Bitchlary. she knows how to play him like a fiddle. He don't have the game that Bitchlary has. Too baby shit soft.

Ssm set herself up in her interview making it seem like she had so much to make the show better. I don't think she realize how much work it would take. I don't expect her to turn the show around this quickly eit her. Frankly I don't think y&r will ever be that show again that we can't wait to see the next episode. Story telling is the biggest problem everything is dated and repeats. How can soaps survive in the world of netflix and reality shows. It will be very difficult for them to keep up
And she said she wants to be current and progressive. I haven't seen any storyline that would fit that description. Too much Lauren and Victoria. Victoria doesn't have to be on almost every day complaining about something. That's one thing I've always hated about Victoria, she always seems unhappy. The woman doesn't have to worry about money, she's surrounded by a loving, supported family, she has had loving relationship with men......why is always so unhappy about everything? And how hard would it be to bring in a handsome, exciting man in his fifties for Ashley? A Ted Turner type of guy. And another thing, Sally said she wants to be current, yet she has Gloria saying she was sexually harassed by Jack when she wasn't. In these times, does she really want to show a woman lying about being sexually harassed? Actually that is current and it should be shown that women and men can and do lie about these matters. We should not train everyone to believe a someone because it seems heart felt...We should teach critical thinking. Many women lie about being sexually harassed and raped. All you need is 1 person to claim sexual assault and about 50 will follow with NO one truly checking the veracity or validity or claims. Common thinking, which is stupid-naive thinking is that it has to be true if more than 1 person says it...That many people cannot make it up right? Wrong!

I don't think it is set in stone. That was her plan initially. IMO, the situation is open to changes now.

I can't believe how fast the hour flies by these days and I, for one, can't wait for the next day's show. Not always, but most of the time. I am so loving the Glojack, it's a relief not to have some deep complicated plot going on, or sick or dead kids, or another doppelganger or long lost relative, nice to have a little levity in the show. I didn't think Jack could possibly scrunch his face up anymore than he normally does, boy was I wrong. Too funny. I could live without Reed, I'm afraid I'd be arranging for his flight to Warsaw with a one-way ticket. lol Hillary making a big deal out of not wanting a settlement, but if a settlement is not addressed in the divorce, pretty sure that leaves it wide open for later. If I were Devon, I'd have a team of lawyers checking it out before I signed anything.

I think the only reason why reality shows, talk shows, cooking shows are competition for soaps is that they are cheaper alternatives (it doesn't mean their ratings will be any better).

So I'm a little bit afraid about their ratings if the show is too light. I kind of feel SS is too cautious, I hope she takes some risks.

Gloria is on AGAIN today. Is JC on contract or what?
I was enjoying the Fenmore story until Gloria started driving a Mack truck over it. I thought Jack & Gloria in bed was funny, but Gloria's heightened reaction to everything never stops. It's exhausting and is detracting from the main story. Where is Lauren? I suppose she's there but I'm not noticing her.
And I take it Jill left to go on that cruise? It's not like Jill to leave smack in the middle of all this upheaval. She only had one conversation with Lauren. It doesn't seem like enough.
This story should have a little more Jill & Lauren and less Gloria. Gloria is fine to add some craziness but who cares about her in the long term? Not sure why they are so focused on her desires.

Gloria is to save us from falling into a coma! lol I do agree that she is getting way too much but the business story is so mickey mouse, I'll take the comedy if it means I don't have to fall asleep.

Yeah Gloria has been getting on my nerves a bit too. They need to be careful with how much they write for her. She should NOT be front burner like this.

You're right, reality shows are cheaper. Truthfully I hang out on the cooking and Home & garden channels. Trouble with those channels, they run all the old shows during the day, over & over & over again. Posted Image

Maybe it's taking longer for them to figure out how to get all the characters out of the mess they were in when SS got there. Glack is fun and easy to write and between Jack's & Glo's facial expressions, I'm :mutley:

But Gloria and Jack don't make sense. Jack would never go for Gloria. Sorry that's just silly as fuck. I enjoy them being 'frenemies' though.

Sally said she wants to be current, yet she has Gloria saying she was sexually harassed by Jack when she wasn't.
Wrong!
I don't have statistics or proof handy at the moment; but it is my understanding that most claims of sexual harassment are true. Of course lies can happen in any situation; but it's rare.
The issue is that for centuries, people didn't believe women who made such claims. The woman was perceived by society as always being at fault.
There is a subconscious bias in much of society, even nowadays, that tends to disbelieve claims of sexual harassment.
I understand that the show is going for comedy. I understand your point about using critical thinking.
But I think the show could address this issue in a subtle way ... Some ideas ...
Maybe if Mariah learns that Gloria is a scam artist, then maybe .... Mariah could think about the issues involved and do a PSA on GC Buzz about supporting women in these situations. It would make sense Mariah to do that on GC Buzz so it wouldn't detract from the flow of Y&R as a whole.
Or ... maybe Ashley could find out about Gloria's scam and then Ashley could confront Gloria and say "how dare you fake harassment when so many woman really are harrassed?".
Any of these ideas could take up only a minute or two on the show ... It doesn't have to be a big thing ... but I think it's appropriate in this day and age.

Sally Sussmans only downfall for me is making Y&R the Gloria show. Everything else I'm cool with. Minus there being some minor holes in some of her plots, but that can be worked on.
