I think she's trying to suck up to Devon by doing the "right thing"

I noticed how Lauren never approached any female investors and now she's chewing off the head of Jill who would've been happy to invest. So only males are acceptable investors?? Specifically the one who actively screwed her over?

I think she is faking doing the right thing as part of her scheming.
There is no way that Bitchilary is suddenly Carol Brady.

female investors would probably seek a say in inventory.
that is, what products to carry, etc.
meanwhile the male investors wouldn't want to bother with suppliers, etc.
basically Lauren wanted an ATM for an investor.......she could constantly withdraw without any checks and balances.

now Jack is supposely a business man and he can't tell that agreement between Fenmore's is invalid?
where is Jill's signature?
Lauren does not have controlling shares.
therefore the agreement is void.

That's definitely not what she's getting with grubby Jack but she insists he is the it

Also, her big hair and push up bras wouldn't work on a female investor

Jill thinks that Jack will sell her the 49% he's getting without her permission. Does that even make sense? If Jill currently has 50% why would she have to pay Jack to get less?

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep"(like Shylan, Nage, Chadam, Hevon, even Tricky etc whom we might have liked or hated, too)."

Those were love stories? Lol. More like insta-pairings. With the exception of Chadam and maybe Hevon, who I happen to like more than the above couples you mentioned. I didn't feel like ANY of those couples were "love stories". There may have been chemistry between the actors in those pairings (just like I felt Billy and Phyllis had chemistry) but that was definitely no love story. If that is the best Pratt can do to write a love story he should try again because I didn't see it.

Dylan and Sharon have become good recently, and I fully give credit to SS for that for making them feel like a real couple. The same can be said for Devon and Hilary. Their relationship is problematic, but it feels real. They've been doing a good job of showcasing the layers behind Devon and Hilary's problems which I've really enjoyed.
Yes, most of these were badly developed love stories (Philly and Chadam were exceptions IMO. I wasn't crazy about Chadam but the story itself wasn't bad) IMO. But I've seen people who liked those stories or couples.
I won't talk about 80s or 90s but if I were honest I haven't seen one single really well written build-up to a love story (or let's say a better build-up than the one Philly had) during the last 5-6 years on 3 out of 4 soaps.

I initially liked Shylan but then I lost my interest and never got it back. The same with Hevon. A writer's name and their reputation/likeability don't play any role in my enjoyment of a pairing. Either I feel something or I don't  .
I love Chadam but they only became a love story over time. In the beginning they too were kind of insta but they were romantic so I went with it and didn't care lol. Sure there have been a string of insta couples but like you said Philly had the most build up under Pratt comparatively to the others. Shylan was always more like a friendship to me than a couple. Sharon and Dylan could've been siblings moreso than lovers.

Not only under Pratt. The last couple of years of MAB, Griffith, SA/JP weren't any better in this aspect. What new couples did we have? - Chelsea/Dylan, Avery/Nick, Avery/Dylan, Jack/Genevieve, Neil/Lesley, Tyler/Abby, Austin/Summer, Neil/Hilary, Stitch/Victoria, Jill/Colin, Noah and two whataretheirnames girls (oh and Shictor :blulaugh: ). Most of them are long forgotten lol.

Reed makes Boretoria inept. He doesn't follow the rules but gets his weak mother to apologize and give him a prize while she doesn't even know he bought porn with her CC. On top of that, she cannot do anything without Billy help lol. Reed, work, concert tickets, blown fuses, ass wiping etc. She will realize he is so indispensable, she will take him back

I can't imagine any scenario where a writers "likeability and reputation" plays any kind of role or significance in whether or not you like the writing or not. If SS came onto Y&R and wrote a horrible show I'd be the first to bitch about how much I hated it :/ I love her writing and have loved it since December 7th. I haven't missed a single episode and I've watched every single one in full. I haven't fast forwarded any scene once. If I only liked her because of her "reputation" I definitely wouldn't be watching as much as I am. I've also given plenty of criticism on her writing because it's not all perfect, and I've acknowledged that. So I'm not sure what that comment was supposed to mean. I'm not someone who carries a chip on my shoulder once a couple I enjoyed is no longer being played either, so.

When Pratt was writing I hardly ever got through a full episode. I only watched to see what he was doing with Sharon but now I'm interested in ALL of the stories. I think Sally could benefit with having Kay Alden as co-head writer because she could use some help with making these stories stronger but overall the show doesn't feel like a cartoon anymore, or some lame and poorly put together teen show like Gossip girl or Melrose place. It feels like how an actual soap should feel.

MAB was just as horrible as Pratt, probably worse.

I actually liked JG and SA/JP but the network didn't give them a chance. Also Josh Griffith started writing some crazy shit near the end too with the whole Summers paternity bullshit. I liked that he introduced Tyler and made Leslie a full time character. He also capitalized on Chelseas popularity which was smart. Avery was overkill though IMO.
