Man, I forgot how much I loved Chabby's story around this time last year. I love that Kate included the scene where Abby is seducing Ben and breaks down when he turns to head upstairs, as well as the scene where Abby is trying to seduce/guilt Chad into stopping her from checking in to the hospital. Fantastic scenes! I'd love to see her win. Looks like there might be some good competition in her category, though. |

Am I the only one who doesn't see anything special about John Aniston's reel? I like James Reynolds', though. That scene of Abe and Theo in the hospital after the shooting is so good. |

For me, I think the competition is between Kate and Finola. Both did great work in their storylines. I'd be happy with either winning. |

After watching their reels, I totally agree. Anna Maria Horsford and Stacy Haiduk were terrific too, so it could go anyway I suppose. I love Stacy Haiduk and she plays a brilliant mentally unstable person, but the "wow" factor was missing for me in her reel. KM's and Finola's just had something that grabbed me. I loved those comedic scenes Finola included at the beginning, not to mention her other stuff, but those is particular because they were different and not so dramatic. I want Kate to win, but Finola is such a great actress I won't be upset if she wins. |

I wasn't going to watch the reels this year because I'm not really into the Emmys, but I was bored, so I ended up watching (most) of the Younger Actress reels. 1. Lexi Ainsworth: Didn't like the beginning stuff at the church; too much screaming. The second episode was good and surprisingly made me a bit emotional. The third segment was also good, although a little standard for a reel. I'll give her the edge over Reign just because she actually did make me connect with the scene (even though I can't stand MB). 2. Reign Edwards: Overall, a nice, subtle reel. Her scene partner, Rome Flynn, was really weak, though, and kept pulling me out of the scenes. I'd be happy with her winning. 3. Hunter King: Her reel was fine, but nothing really stood out to me. 4. Alyvia Alyn Lind: I'll just admit it: I only made it through about three minutes of her reel. As such, it's probably not fair of me to compare her to the others, but...whatever. Anyway, I think she's a good actress, but there's only so much material they can give the very young ones, and I don't think she has enough yet to get an Emmy. (Why was her reel so long?! I noticed the same thing with the younger actors last year, too, the really young ones had the longest reels). 5. Chloe Lanier: This was Maurice Bernard's reel more than it was Chloe's. (And I don't even like MB). |

Supporting actress is a very strong category this year, Supporting Actor - pretty weak. |

Younger actor is typically weak, but I've watched most of them now, and all I keep thinking is, "This is supposedly Emmy-worthy?" It's honestly quite sad. |

I still have only made it through one (Bryan Craig's). It didn't motivate me to watch the rest. |

Honestly? I thought BC's was one of the better reels (and I don't even like him). :-/ The acting was typically OTT, but at least the scenes had some meat to them. Fodé from B&B was okay, but I thought Godfrey, his scene partner, out-shined him. The other kid from B&B? I don't know why his scenes would be considered Emmy-worthy at all. Don't even remember the other reels. LOL. |

I'm so turned off by the Days' nominees this year, that I can't even get myself psyched up to watch the reels anymore. |

1. Laura Wright 2. Heather Tom 3. Gina Tognoni 4. Jess Walton 5. Nancy Lee Grahn (She had the best acting year, overall, but this reel construction was a bit of a mess) |

1. Duell 2. Burton 3. Reynolds 4. Aniston 5. Parise I wouldn't be surprised if they give it to Aniston as a career achievement (nobody really blew me away enough to sway the voting in one clear direction) but the second half of Duell's reel should be enough to secure him another emmy in supporting. |

1. Edwards 2. Ainsworth 3. Lind 4. Lanier 5. King Lanier is the best actress in this category and has been slaying dragons this year, but there just wasn't enough centerpiece material to put together a solid reel from last year. I was puzzled by what she would pick when the nominations came out, but I see her having this award on lockdown into the future. Just not much of a showcase here. Lind's reel is entirely too long with too much filler after the first few minutes. I could see her winning based on the "hey, it's that kid who played Dolly" factor working in her favor if my top two don't impress the judges enough. I would've liked this much better if they cut this down by about ten minutes. King did absolutely nothing for me, but they really love her. Who knows? Ainsworth didn't choose her best scenes (Kristina vs Alexis was a goldmine) but this is still a very well acted and very well told story reel. I would've cut out that first minute of the hostage stuff though, very strange choice to include all that frantic screaming. Hope it doesn't hurt her chances, but it might. Edwards had the most focused and best put together reel. I wasn't blown away by her acting, nor by a rather weak screen partner either, but it is the only one that didn't have any editing or timing issues that distract from the character's drama. She carries the entire reel very well all by herself. Edited by Vince79, Apr 23 2017, 03:09 AM.

I watched both "Younger" categories the other day. Haven't watched anything else yet because they made me lose my will to live. The girls were a lot better than the guys though. I'm already so tired of seeing Maurice Benard, he's in every damn reel. . I think Lexi Ainsworth is my favorite but I really just liked the middle section of her reel. I hated that beginning with all the shrieking. Alyvia had sooo much material. That was a long repetitive feel but she may have been the best? Reign's was dull to me, horrible scene partner too. I love Reign and know what she's capable of, this was just OK. Hunter's wasn't bad, but it was absolutely nothing special. She had similar scenes with Victor and Luca about betrayal. Chloe's was the worst. I'd rank then in the order I talked about them. I'd be happiest with Lexi winning because she's already been ROBBED horrifically. Also would be good with a Reign win. I'm still gonna predict Hunter though just because. For the guys it's just Bryan Craig. I hate that douche but there isn't even competition here. I hope Pierson steals it because he's popular but he doesn't deserve it. Linsey was great in Pierson's reel. He did nothing. |
