I thought BF had much better material in 2015 than 2016. I was pleasantly surprised he broke into the Lead category. Clifton submitted as Supporting even when he was Lead. Maybe he should have taken a page from him.
I think the supporting actor category was more stacked than the leading actor category?

I don't even think Kate thanked her mom? Lol
"This, forgive me, will be quite tangential because I was so not prepared for this, but Mary Beth [Evans], you were right. Julianne Moore once said "There's no such thing as best actress" and you can see that in the category I was in. You three women, I am so honored to be among you and to be in this community of passionate and hard-working actors and actresses that work every single day. I am honored to be among you. Thank you to my co-stars, I wouldn't be here without you. Thank you to NBC and to "Days." [Casting director] Marnie [Saitta], you're only supposed to have one person that believes in you in this town and that's been Marnie. She has been a life-changer. She's changed my life forever. "Days" you've changed my life. Thank you to my partner for reminding me what happy feels like every day. This is incredible. Thank you so much."

See, she didn't thank her mom.

Maybe. They seem to take you more seriously if you submit and win in Supporting first. See Billy Miller and now Scott Clifton. Both of them were and are on the younger side too.

Marci got to present and open the show with her current costar. I'm sure she wasn't slighted in any way. And it's been established KM and Billy are cordial but not bffs and Gina and SC still work with their costars. I sort of feel like maybe some of this is wanting to give BF and MM their lane to do their thang. I think saying all her costars kept it cool. Also as many mentioned she even forgot to thank her mom and even family like her sister who just got married yesterday lol. Kate got nervous because I feel like she may have wanted to bring up the mental awareness she's been doing an awesome job with online and she forgot that too.

Also I peeped Michelle Stafford was there for GH and watched Gina take win for Phyllis. Some interesting dynamics lol and I'm sure even more scenarios were happening.

It's very political, most of the time it's not based off of merit at all.

She seemed happy for Gina? I don't perceive MS as being a diva.

So true. Billy Miller's first win came from a special "What If" episode focused 100% on him, he was supporting nothing and no one in that lol. But he was barely 30 and therefore knew he needed to submit supporting to win. :blulaugh:

I don't know whom they take more seriously but SC shouldn't have won this year (nothing against him but PB's and BF's reels were definitely stronger than his.

I don't think Chad has had a story specifically about him. It's mostly surrounded Abby and her drama.

I have to say that despite Mary Hart's 20-minute acceptance speech and Sheryl Underwood constantly sexually harassing Mario Lopez, this year's Daytime Emmys was well produced and entertaining. They could have and should have done better on the red carpet but the actual show was good. I was afraid the stream would be choppy or skip because some many people would be watching it (5.6k) but it never did (for me) and it was smooth sailing the entire evening.

Well I have no idea about that. Just based on how she interacts with her current costars she seems to get along fine.

She did look genuinely happy today, though.

Right. Both times BM won in Supporting he was a Lead character. There are always Leads in Supporting. I don't remember anyone complaining when he won his Emmys. Same thing with Amelia Heinle.

YnR is notorious for their BTS drama, MS doesn't stand out.

I'm sure she was fine today, but I heard many stories about some of her BTS antics.

I complained. Especially about his first one because it was just outrageous. He was in every frame and all the other characters in it were just figments of Billy Abbott's imagination. Come on.
