The fans. Frank didn't thank the viewers last night, but he pointed out that he'd already said thanks last year.

Wow Frank is a whole other animal when it comes to douche bags. If it were not for the fans he wouldn't have a job does he not know that?

Let's see if this works. Frank gave Maurice Benard partial credit for Lexi Ainsworth and Bryan Craig's wins. Good lord. I don't remember their speeches, so they might agree, but it's really not his place to say so.

He also said after that that he'd wanted to thank MB because him being in LA and BC's reels is why they won. I really can't with him. He must feel MB holds his job in his hands or something.

I don't think LA thanked MB at all? And BC barely mentioned him but mentioned LW several times.

Not sure why people have a problem with what NLG said. It sounds like the same stuff that was said on this thread just some pages back ...

I thought it was overall a good show, but her 2 main complaints were mine as well, and her reference to Frank not thanking the fans is great too.

Back to MB: I just... I try to avoid watching Sonny as much as possible. And then they forced him into Jane's special episode to where I HAD to watch him if I wanted to watch her. And hearing Frank's ridiculous reason for singling MB out over anyone else - they're really pushing me to the brink here.

I agree with what she said about the host Sheryl Underwood.

I haven't read this thread yet so I haven't seen anyone's comments -- I read the first two pages then came here to the last page.

I agree with Nancy Lee Grahn that Sheryl Underwood was obnoxious. I felt bad for Mario Lopez who was trying to keep his dignity.

I liked what Mary Hart had to say but I thought she went on way too long.

I hope this woman (or anyone like her) wasn't watching the Emmys last night:

I was pissed off at Sheryl Underwood. Constant sexual comments to her cohost Mario Lopez.

I don't know if Sheryl was making it up as she went along, or if she started off reading from scripted cues on a monitor. Either way -- Not ok.

If Sheryl was reading a script from cue cards, then I'm pissed at whoever wrote it, and pissed at her for continuing with it once she started reading it.

If she instigated this on her own, then that's really gross.

There is no way in hell that anyone would have tolerated a male host making such comments to a female host. We would not allow a man to give the excuse that he was just joking around, so I don't know why Sheryl thought she was being funny.

Sexual harassment sold as humor? Not okay.

(I haven't read this thread yet, and won't have time until tonight or tomorrow. So I don't know what has been commented. But I had to come here and say that).

That appears to be Sheryl's thing. I don't watch The Talk, but I've seen commercials after B&B and she's always draped all over the male guests or making inappropriate sexual comments about them.

Yea but not like how she was on the show. She took her harassment to a whole new level.

I'm not surprised by SU's behavior. I don't watch The Talk, but have heard stories.

Why should she change her ways when CBS has cultivated her "style"? She comes from a long list of CBS deviants: Bob Barker, Jeanne Cooper and Bill Bell have nothing on her.

I thought BF had much better material in 2015 than 2016. I was pleasantly surprised he broke into the Lead category. Clifton submitted as Supporting even when he was Lead. Maybe he should have taken a page from him.
BF should have submitted in supporting and KM in lead. Jmo
KM wouldn't have won if she put herself in lead. She chose wisely. :)

I'm happy with the Lead and Supporting Actress awards tonight. Both were well deserved.
Unfortunately that is part of the problem with the Emmys and the other award shows. They are easily manipulated or they become a popularity contest. While KM won - and I desperately wanted her to - there are fans out there of the other 4 actresses that were nominated who had to compete with an actress who was CLEARLY lead actress. I'd prefer that actors are put in the categories they really qualify for and win against that level of peers than manipulate the system to get the win. I know it happens all the time but...

I think where you land should be based on the number of shows you were in over the prior period. If you reach X amount of shows then you compete in lead and if less than that you compete in supporting. If you average three days a week e.g. then IMO you are more than likely a lead character. I realize this isn't full proof by any means and there will certainly be exceptions. But just letting the actor decide where to go isn't the proper way. Technically you could be lead a portion of the year AND supporting during a period too. That for me is a more well balanced show. But that wasn't the case for Kate.

I would trust a daytime committee to make the decisions. You'd have to be sure that the members are very well versed on all the shows which is easier now. A rep from Voldermort e.g. or Carolyn Hinsey, even a lay person from websites like this that watch all the shows. They wouldn't determine who won the Emmy, just assist in determining the category the nominee would appear in. You have the age limit that determines Younger actor and I think that works well. Hard to dispute that determination.

Ultimately, I am very happy Kate won. I guess it just is what it is.

I have grumbled about this stuff in the past, but have just come to accept it.

I think the problem with the # of episodes qualification is that for shows like Days, the guarantees are really low now. I'm not sure what the other soaps look like now, but their leads are probably averaging more than 90-100 episodes a year, which is where most Days leads are at. The other problem is that just because you have less episodes, that doesn't mean that you weren't a lead when your story was front burner.

I agree that KM should have been lead, but I think her reasoning (i.e. she was only on half the year) was better than some of the other ladies' reasonings for being in supporting. FH from GH, for instance, only submitted in supporting because she didn't want to submit at all and would only agree to let her show put her in supporting. That rationale irritates me more than other's thinking.
