I agree. I would tune out altogether. Let's hope they have more sense than this.

I dont trust Sussman to not write Billy as Y&R's Liam.
She will do it to make her favourite (AH/Boretoria) more likable.

Sally Sussman keeps changing storyline direction. She needs to stop. She needs to make up her mind and just stick with a plan. I was really loving her work in December and January and then she kept flip flopping. It's annoying. You can't invest in anything. It shouldn't be that hard to figure out what works. Fuck!

She's dropping her plots faster than Pratt did. At least he gave us a full month, Sally is only giving us 2 weeks of storylines.

I still don't understand the point of bringing Reed back. There are no other teens around except him and those 2 girls. JT & Mac aren't in the equation to have scenes w/ him or Victoria. Victoria barely wants him there and barely spends time w/ him. His music teacher, Tessa, is more relevant than he is right now. What was even the point of him being in Genoa City?

The Reed storyline is yet another unnecessary storyline that lasted longer than Sussman's standard 2-3 weeks without any real purpose.

But I definitely agree with your comments.

Reed being back should be a good thing because Y&R could use a decent teen grouping but it's not working with just one character. Especially when that one character is written as whiney and spoiled.

Sally decided to make Lily and Cane's children Reed's age, so I guess she wanted to bring on a teen scene. Instead of going with this version of Reed (which I don't like. He and Victoria were so close when he was a child and should still be close) I wish they had just aged Johnny and gone with him discovering that Chelsea was his biological mother and him wanting to know why she gave him up and wanting to be with her. That could have been a good storyline for Chelsea, Victoria and Billy.

I am patiently waiting for Johnny to be SORAS because its going to be good when he realized that Chelsea gave him up without a much of a second thought.
I can see the feud between Johnny and Connor later on.

I think this might be because of the ratings. They can't continue with the same direction when they see the numbers drop. They have to react/change something. I think CBS plays a role there too.

SSM does some things really well - some scenes are really sweet and have some depth but the storylines aren't working - I can't think of one single story that was well developed and executed.

I think SSM has a good handle on character personalities and interweaving past relationships between the characters, but her stories are subpar. The Dina and L.A. storylines are supposedly big umbrella storylines but I don't know if I can trust that with the way things have progressed so far.

I would wish for SSM to be fired, but I'm not sure who else we'd get that would be any better. It might be one of those 'be careful what you wish for' situations... Dena Higley is available.

She probably noticed the ratings. Sally is in trouble. Why didn't they get her a co-writer? She would probably work well with someone like Pratt.

Sally has this unusual talent of making any storyline boring. Also, I'm not really digging her new characters. They are like empty vessels.

Even that comes and goes with the wind. Scott is a prime example of a character that has been here all of three months and every month has a different career. wth?!

The current show plays like a bad sitcom instead of a drama. Whoever decided this as the vision, needs to dump this idea immediately. The show is also overrun by ridiculous unnecessary triangles that are generic at best and do nothing but ruin the couples/characters.

The leading ladies should be Sharon, Phyllis, Ashley, Chelsea and Hilary. Until they get a legitimate actress for Victoria, that character needs to be no more than supporting. The other major problem lies in the department of the leading men. There are barely any that I would consider a strong male lead. Aside from Jack, Victor (the oldies), there's just Billy after that. But what they doing with Billy is crap, completely wasting a talented actor. Nick can't lead shit. Michael Baldwin should actually be a lead. CLB is a great actor that is also wasted. They better be getting a strong actor to play Adam to help fill this void. Another character that should be lead material is Kyle Abbott. He needs to be cast.

The latest ratings are absolutely tragic. If the Newman pact is the best they can do as an "umbrella story", it is only going to get worse. The summer time is going to be brutal.

What I inferred from Sussman's first interview, she may have portrayed that she is a writer who may not need the support of anyone.
After the way she blasted her predecessors, I would have thought her writings would be off the charts.........instead it damn well broke the bore-meter and send viewers searching for alternate means of entertainment.

Pratt was bad in his own right, but Sussman so far after five months is AWFUL!!!

Especially since the streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon etc) is about to release some excellent shows.........and of course Game of Thrones, etc will be back......so On-Demand service can be entertainment for many while Sally produces her boring crap.

Higley claimed she will never writer for another soap again......but she could change her mind, when her credit cards bills start piling up.
Anyway, Higley needs to stay far away from any soap writing......she should try her hand at book writing instead.
