Y&R needs to make some changes and SOON! Sussman and Mal are destroying the show. Not good, especially considering it's up for renewal again soon. Glad to see DAYS above 2 million but it's still pathetic. Ron has SO much work to do to turn this sinking ship around. I think he can do it, but I just hope that factors outside of his control (low budget, not enough time, etc.) aren't going to get in the way. It also might be a too-little-too-late kind of scenario. However, if anyone can do this, it's Ron. So for now, I'm choosing to remain cautiously optimistic. |

Typically we hear about CBS Daytime renewals at the beginning of the year, not in 2017 though. They renewed Y&R in 2014 through 2017 season. No news what's next. Edited by thepadange, Jun 17 2017, 01:54 PM.

Y&R will be renewed....but at what cost to their budget? That is what remains to be seen. |

More actor cuts probably and more cheaper newbies. |

Yeah, they already started this. The trend is pretty obvious. |

Which show is better, GH or Y&R? I've given up on giving Ron's writing a chance, so I won't be watching Days again. I'm looking for a different soap to watch. |

I think B&B is the best out of the other 3 right now. Between GH and Y&R, I'm not sure. GH has a lot of little storylines going on, it's messy but I don't find it boring maybe because the scenes are really short. Y&R is the opposite, better control of the storylines, longer scenes but I get really bored sometimes, it depends. |

Thanks. For some reason B&B has never interested me. Looks like I need to try both GH and Y&R and see which appeals to me. I kind of hate giving up on Days before Ron's writing starts airing, but I haven't seen anything to draw me back. |

I think you should give Ron a chance but maybe wait until the end of the summer, I don't think his first month will be that great (he had to wrap up Dena's stories and write a few exits). |

Well, then don't. I actually think it's kind of ridiculous to do so when his stuff hasn't even aired yet. Give it a chance first. Don't come to a conclusion about his work before it even airs. |

The stories are Dena creations so they'll still be flaming piles of poo, but the writing will be indefinitely better right away. I expect the show to be 10 times more watchable even during the transition period from Dena's stories to Ron's. He's good at transitioning. Edited by Justin91, Jun 24 2017, 11:38 AM.

I was very excited about Ron's writing until Lysie indicated he was keeping Rope. That zapped away all my enthusiasm. I'll continue to read here to see what's happening on Days, but I just feel a huge letdown. I can't help how I feel. I'll never say never though. I watched Days for over 40 years. I want to come back and watch again someday. Ino the meantime, I miss having a soap to watch. I think I'll try GH first. I watched it ages ago, during Luke and Laura, but not for a long time. |

I'm sorry then, I thought you said the show is keeping them together basically by default. It may seem silly to others, but Rope is my line in the sand. They poisoned the whole show for me. I actually do want Days to succeed. I hope Ron gives me a reason to come back. I've had some twitter friends today recommending GH. |

I've heard that's the case initially, but I have no idea what that might actually look like onscreen. And it may not last. Every change they make will hopefully not be immediate. That's where the last several regime changes have gone wrong. |
