Based on the numbers, I would say Y&R hasn't gained any audience since Chuck Pratt left.
so Y&R gained a cheap mediocre writer who just managed to hold onto the same audience level.......no gain on their part.

Not to defend Pratt, but under Pratt, Y&R managed to have LESS bleeding than they have now.
Where Pratt averaged a 4.798 viewers, and that's a difference of -0.67% from the previous year.

The new mediocre writer is averaging a -6.45% to date and she still have ten weeks to go before the season is over.
so yeah, Y&R really doing well.............. NOT

Y&R gained in total viewers but are still down in the demos (which is what matters). But yay for them not reaching a new low. It's progress.

P.S. So Sally appeals to older viewers but not younger viewers. Makes sense.

Y&R also had pre-emptions that week in 2016. I think they had pre-emptions this week too. Not sure if it's comparable though. The pre- empted day in 2017 was July 13th and they had the highest number that day. It was the concert. I was kind of surprised that Friday was so much lower, it's when Nikki played and Ashbys were talking with kids about the ONS and pregnancy.

Was Y&R pre-empted on Thursday? I saw they were fairly high that day. Why?

Last year's pre emption numbers are the about same as this year's with less pre emption lol. At least the ratings seem to be improving from ealier in the year. How long will it hold?

I am glad to see Days on the rise. I am curious to see the results of Ron's first week. I've enjoyed it so far.

SON doesn't mention the pre-emption on the 13th but I remember posters saying Trump/Macron stuff interrupted the show. Not sure how many markets were affected though.
In 2016 SON mentioned it: http://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2016/07/ratings-3?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter#ixzz4FCWyGrip

I definitely already knew that. I was just happy to see some improvement under this regime because I feel like some of the storytelling is starting to pay off and hope that the ratings continue to improve.
