Wait!

I thought all those pearl clutchers were going to STOP watching YR following the Mariah and Tessa kiss.

Yet the show went UP 10,000 viewers.

I expected Days to be at least 2.3 million viewers by now oven better you think people start tuning in again with a new head writer's work airing but it seems people no longer interested in Days. I think they should of done a special event on the new reboot like Tomsell did in 2012 to see if the audience was still there it worked for Tomsell they got of to a flying with that story line they created after Olympics games. If the returns of Ali and CM don't help pull them in Sep and Oct then i think Days will be in serious trouble i put money on it Ron is relying on Sami finding Will alive as his big story line for Nov sweeps and beyond.

I think the initial changes made by Ron have not been big enough to make a difference in the ratings. I've seen a lot of mixed reactions to the doppleganger story. And my guess is that the Chabby reunion only solidified a fanbase that was already there. And when it comes to Ericole, it's probably too little too late.

Well, it's still summer and lots of people are enjoying outdoor activities. I am pretty sure that more than 80% of viewers don't even know about the writing change. The same stories are continuing, we can't expect miracles IMO. I'd expect increases in October-November (usually 3-6 months into the new writing).

They should of done a big fall preview and showed Ali returning with CM and ED show clips of Sami reuniting with Will and show other story lines that were going to air at that time that may of helped Ron's reboot i think that would be very exciting for the fans as well. I can see why he taking to social media begging fans to tune in he must be worried that is a lost cause, because i never seen any head writer act like this may only the writers that would there in 2011 Mardar when they did tweet a lot to the fans Tomsell were very quiet just got on with it.

Ron has always been very active on Twitter. It's nothing new. Frank Valentini (EP, GH) promotes GH daily.
It's only unusual re: Days.

I don't think you can really gain momentum by promoting something that will happen in 2 or 3 months. You have to make the fans want to tune in now, I think that's what Ron is try to do on twitter and he's doing a good job. I hope his efforts will pay out eventually.

It didn't work for TomSell . Ratings only went up for that event which was also partially MarDar's. Ratings then dropped and were still pretty low for a few months. They didn't hit their stride for a while. That's typically what happens with a new writer. The ratings don't usually make dramatic changes either way for a few months. Ron's stuff doesn't start until fall.

I know that they dropped after the event and didn't start going up again until early 2013 but every new head writer i assume wants to get off to a good start to show how good his or her's work is. I thought Ron's new stuff began on 19 July i read this everywhere i even saw him take credit for that episode.

His stories don't start until September. His writing started in July, but it was him wrapping up Dena.

There is still time, Ron's storylines haven't really started yet, and as said it is still the summertime, people watch less television during the summertime. I believe things will look different in October and especially November sweeps. That will be the real show at that point.

Not everyone who watches soaps cares about it. Some people just watch them, they don't go to boards, don't post and read about soaps on Twitter, Facebook or other social media.
And it has nothing to do with geography. You can live overseas but get all the info you need if you're interested but if you don't care enough living in Burbank won't help you.
