Kristen is the lead heroine of the show. Trying to paint her something else will just fail. She will be rooted for no matter what she does. : )
In your opinion.

In my opinion, Kristen is a supporting villain on the show and she doesn't work any other way. I have never rooted for her in all the years she appeared on the show.

Different opinions.

Personally, I take more issue with the terms "heroine" and "rooted for" being equated. The two things don't have to go together.

Kristen is the lead Villianess of the show (when she's actually ON the show). Trying to paint her something else will just fail.

I would say currently the lead heroine's of current DAYS are Abby & Nicole. Under Dena, Gabi was in that group.

The once heroine's of the show, who go in and out of storyline are Marlena, Hope and then Jennifer.

Kristen I don't think was ever meant to be the heroine. She was the spoiler, the nemesis and the charcter some love to hate. Interesting that I also think the original version of Sami was meant to be the same as is Nicole, maybe even Gabi. Shifting Sami, Nicole & Gabi to more of a heroine type charcter hurt all of them, it made them in my eyes less rootable. It made them hypocrites and I enjoyed them way more when they are scheming, misunderstood and sometimes just plain evil.

Lead HEROINE? Heroine? Kristen DiMera?

I loathe her character with every fiber of my being.

For me, she is the WORST of all the returns. I would have been happy if she never showed up.

And although some may root for her, I never will.

One of the requirements of a heroine is noble acts. Raping a priest isn't anywhere near noble. Kristen will never be a heroine on the show in my opinion.

Nicole has been capable of nobility and selflessness in a lot of different storylines. Kristen not so much.

I agree. While I have loved and rooted for her in the past (sort of), she is definitely meant to be the villain. I wouldn't have her any other way.

Supposedly, Eileen Davidson's return as whatever character(s) ... won't begin airing until November.

Heroine or villain, I enjoy Kristen because ED is amazing and she shakes up the mundane aspecta of the show. Plus, John & Marlena are so much more intriguing to me when she is around to get under their skin.

Here's the thing. I think she and Nick are cut from the same cloth in a lot of ways. Both characters have done some really f'ed up things in the name of love. Personally, I don't blame Gabi for offing Nick because it needed to happen. I guess I feel more empathy with regards to Kristen because she lost a man she deeply loved and it messed her up pretty badly and isn't able to have a child of her own. In Nick's case, I do understand he was raped and tortured in prison, but he kept trying to raise a child that wasn't even his to begin with. Now, I realize that Kristen did this too with Brady's child, but I think the intention was far different. Plus, I didn't really mind her torturing Theresa, LOL. The point is that even though both characters are villains, I still feel like Kristen has more likeability between the two by far. Personally, I miss having characters with such a deep history that you can delve into their psyche on why they are the way they are. There are so many on the show now that lack character depth and evolution and it's sad. Hope it gets better with RC.

You know the spoilers aren't great when the discussion in the thread is mostly about Nick Fallon and Kristen :blulaugh:
