I'm all-in. Ron can write great soap so I don't even really care who is the "focus." He will use the cast as an ensemble and that's why he got fired from GH! I mostly like the people getting focus anyway here.

I think the show is going to be totally balls to the walls in October and beyond. I definitely have people that I would prefer to get story, but they'll get their turn around January/February. We'll see how this all goes but I'm willing to bet that I'm personally going to love the show come October.
LOL the nerve of an ensemble at GH!

Yeah. It looks like Ron's strategy was to keep more or less the same cast but shift the focus from the characters who were overexposed to the ones who were on the backburner. If you don't really watch the show, it might seem like more of the same but it's not.
If that was the case, people like Jennifer and Chloe would be getting focus. Also Nicole, Brady, and Sonny would be deemphasized. I'm another one who could do without Will's return. I hope he doesn't continually focus on these same characters because most of this preview (not all) is positively snoozeworthy for me.
It's still different though. It wasn't a couple of weeks ago, and now is kind of iffy, but the stuff coming (as mentiined here) is different. The storyline focus isn't even similar. Whether that's good or bad, your motive may differ, but it still a shift in storyline focus.

I think from a couples perspective he definitely shifted focus with the existing cast. He reunited chabby and removed Gabi quickly. He's writing for J&M who barely aired and for J&A who really got the shaft during that cancer story. I'm sure it isn't an accident both couples are connected to Will Paul Sonny.

I still think jen and Eric happen once Nicole is gone. They were on a bunch of those leaked winter scripts together.

Ugh -- how long is this stupid doppleganger story going to go on? So ridiculous and a waste of time and talent.

The minute that "Adrienne" starts making the moves on Victor, wouldn't Maggie and Justin immediately know it's not really her? So dumb!

I think the Hattie stuff ends relatively soon. It's not part of the fall preview, and the spoiler articles for next week are about people being suspicious of her.

I think the Bonnie/Adrienne stuff is going to go for a while.

I think you're right. Glad Hattie is done soon.

Bonnie needs to wrap up quickly, too!

Nobody seems to realize that Adrienne has a lookalike, so they probably won't think it's not her. They'll probably just think she's having some sort of breakdown as a result of the cancer, or experiencing side effects from the treatment.

Honestly, not looking forward to Will and Sami's return at all. Simply loathe those two so much. But I'm looking forward to the Memphis story with Justin, Adrienne(it better be the real Adrienne), Sonny, Paul, and John/Marlena.

The rest of the Fall Previews don't interest me at all.

Eve is one of my favorites so do not want her saddled with Brady. Im actually hoping she reconnects with Eric after Nicole leaves. I liked their friendship and thought they had chemistry.
What sort of interaction did Eric/Eve have and when? I don't remember this.
They had a friendship a few years back I believe it was. It sort of looked like they could be heading toward a dating thing but nothing ever came of it. This was back when Paige was still alive.

Don't worry. No one will ever try that again.
Yep, it's once again the Sam, Sonny, Jason and Carly hour with a side dash of Roger Howarth and Michelle Stafford wasting my time and sucking up two contracts. It's still a bit better than when Guza was destroying the show but still. Look at the ridiculous storyline they had Sam and Sonny just in. And now Steve Burton is back.

I'm very nervous about the JJ/Theo storyline. I can see Ron and KC thinking this is a good opportunity to write something socially relevant, but I just don't see how it can work in execution. There is no realistic way to deal with a police officer shooting a young black man without bringing race into the story, but how do they do that? I can't imagine JJ is going to be portrayed as shooting Theo because of his race. Even if they try to be more nuanced and tried to attribute JJ's actions to unconscious racial bias, it still tarnishes the character. But if they don't do that, how do they avoid making JJ the victim of unfounded accusations of racism and trivializing/dismissing the very real-world concerns about police abuse toward minority communities? I suspect the storyline would work better if the shooter was a short-term character.
I think that if Ron is willing to go there, that must mean he's passionate about this issue and won't trivialize it. I think the fact that the audience knows and loves both characters is a good start.
JJ accidentally shoots Theo, who he's known since childhood (Abby babysat him), but because it's a white police/black man situation, people who don't know JJ jump to the wrong conclusion about him. There's a story there about a good man being perceived in a bad way and struggling to restore his reputation because of people's biases and assumptions. The same goes for Theo. Even though it was a misunderstanding (or he was caught in a crossfire, etc), a lot of people could assume he's a criminal because of the color of his skin. It happens every day.

That's one possibility. But if Ron is going to address it, I'd rather he take a risk and ask serious questions about implicit/systemic bias. There's a story there about a generally good guy who makes a horrible mistake based on his own implicit biases and assumptions and has to confront/acknowledge them. There's a story about a family who has been in the center of Salem life for decades, but who still has to confront the realities of institutional and systemic racism in this country. There is a way to go deeper and explore real issues. It's something that, ironically, soaps used to be at the forefront of - real social issues. I can applaud Ron for taking that risk and still hold my breath that he can do a story with the depth and sensitivity it requires. If he can, it can be a game changer of sorts that could show that soap can still be socially relevant entertainment. If he can't, then it could be a major disaster.

The Gabi blurb is kind of random, and IMO came across like lip service.
Camila has posted a couple of times in the last few days using an insta or SC filter that gave her purple/blue hair. She asked if she should go that color. Once, it's a joke. But, it's been a couple of times and she commented how she'd never dyed her hair before. Obviously could still be joking but I just found it sort of odd. She can't go purple while she's on Days so I wondered if she might be leaving or thinking about leaving.

Normally, my mind wouldn't go there but after being a member of this board for two years, I read into EVERY post a Days actor makes, lol.

For me, that runs the whole spectrum.

There's absolutely dreadful: neither Hope nor Rafe has any business being commissioner, and Kate/Andre.

There's boring/not my thing: Gabi the paragon of virtue, road trip to Memphis.

There's neutral: Steve/Kayla/Tripp.

There's enjoying-it-in-the-wrong way: Bonnie can please make Maggie suffer.

There's cautiously interested: JJ shoots Theo, while knocking up Theo's sister.

There's unfortunately I'm a sucker for this: Eric/Nicole/Brady and anything Lucas.

but...but...but Sami.....you didn't say anything about her?

Hmmmmm

Gabi is only important because she's Arianna HORTON's mom. Otherwise lol, important my ass.

Lucas has a problem with Sonny moving on? Sonny has been dating Paul for how long now? He should've already had a problem if he was going to.

What exactly is a cops worst nightmare... (re: JJ)
I could see him having a problem with Sonny getting married, though.

I really do like the preview. I'm looking forward to whatever happens in Memphis, and I'm also looking forward to the JJ/Theo storyline, I really hope it's written well and what a twist to have JJ knock up Theo's sister.

and that wedding sounds absolutely the type of crazy happening wedding that I've been craving since Kristen/Brady and the tape reveal.

It just seems ridiculous that he would have a problem with Sonny moving on NOW. Did he just assume Sonny would never marry again? That's not how this works lol
