It's so stupid when the bad guy, in this case Raines, wastes his breath explaining everything to stupid little Gabi

How in the world could they write Gabi being outraged at Raines being a dirty cop and then have her use Rafe as an example of being a good cop? That elephant in the room should have crushed both of them.

I kinda remember Bonnie being a lot more fiesty and able to think on her feet.

The police station sure has a big open space suddenly when a lot of actors need to rush in together :D

Stupid Rafe. Everyone's all busy going to look for Gabi and he just stands there.

Thank you JCP.

It is too bad that Raines is the one leaving instead of her.

If Tripp had gone to administrator over Kayla's head, she would have been mad at him for that.

Mad at Tripp? Isn't she already mad at him?

I know Ava was evil and she used Joey but I don't agree with Kayla that it's Ava's fault Joey's in prison.

After watching today, I'm still kind of torn.

Kayla was at least polite to Tripp and said she appreciated the gesture. Watching it, I can understand her reaction more since it reminds her of Ava and all the hell she put the family through. I'm glad they discussed the past some and how while Steve wasn't there for Tripp, he missed lots of Steph & Joe's childhood's too. However, I can understand how Steve wants them to get along. First, they promised Joey they would, as well as Tripp told Joe he'd look after Steve so it's all these promises but Steve really does want them too. It did bug me though that after Kayla finally agreed about the money and Steve thanked her, he didn't hug her or anything. Everything is so distant.

I did enjoy seeing Tripp interact with the other teens. I think he/Claire could be kind of cute.

What is Kayla angry about, Tripp presence in Salem or Tripp threating her? One is justified the other is not, the way she is currently being written it almost comes off is less about what Tripp did to her but more about who he is. I know trust has to be earned. If she is over looking what Joey did to Ava IMO on some she has to understand where Tripp's head was when he threaten her he realized they was covering up who really killed his mom, (whether she deserve the loyalty or not). I'm not saying she has to immediately forgive him, but it feels like she is judging him not because what he did to her but because of who he is. Does she resent him? I'm just wondering.
See this is where I'm at too and I've hesitated to say at cause I'm an S & K fan.
She should absolutely be pissed that he messed with her records and got her fired. and then held a knife to her but right now they're playing it more that she's mad that he's here and Joey's in prison. That resentment and pettiness is not a good look for Kayla. If they stuck to she's angry he tried to wreck her career and tried to kill her and it'll take some time time to earn her trust, it may sound better.

Right now, I want S & K out of this bubble as I'm tired of watching them fight.
Right. Tripp violated her trust, as well as several laws I'm sure in altering patient records, then held a scalpel to her neck and threatened to kill her. And he's sitting at the Pub with Steve drinking a beer while her son is in prison. Joey being in prison doesn't have to be Tripp's fault for Kayla to be upset by the situation. Steve supported Joey turning himself in, but told Kayla that prison would kill Tripp. Why wouldn't that feel like Steve was trying to protect Tripp but not Joey? Why wouldn't it feel like Tripp's facing no consequences for his actions, but Joey's paying the full price for his? That's not pettiness. It is resentment, but she's got a reason to feel resentful.
She has EVERY right to be mad at what Tripp did to her, but what I'm saying is they are scripting it as her just resenting Tripp for who he is, not because her son went to jail and Steve's didn't. I understand that she is just angry right now but what does she want Steve to do and did she really want Joey to live with the guilt of getting away with killing his brother's mother? Did she want Steve to force Joey into keeping quiet about the murder?

It all kind of depends on how you define fault. Joey killed Ava and that's why he's in prison. But does that happen if Ava doesn't come back to Salem, doesn't manipulate Joey, doesn't assault and kidnap Kayla, doesn't rape Steve, doesn't try to frame Kayla for attempted murder, and doesn't make it clear she's never going to stop?

Things aren't always black and white, guilty or completely innocent. I can understand why this all goes back to Ava for Kayla, even if it's also true that Joey committed a crime and is now serving time for it.

The jury is still out on Tripp/Claire for me. Their physical appearance together doesn't really impress me.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Right. Tripp violated her trust, as well as several laws I'm sure in altering patient records, then held a scalpel to her neck and threatened to kill her. I haven't seen her resenting Tripp for who he is without any other factors. If that was the case, then why was she so accepting of him before? I just don't think you can divorce what he did from her reaction now, even if it's not specifically referenced in the dialogue. As for what she wants Steve to do, I'm not sure she even knows. She's hurting and he's toasting the man that assaulted her. So, I think a good start would have been to not do that. As for Joey, I think what she wanted was for the counseling to work and help Joey deal with the guilt. It didn't, but she doesn't believe prison will help either. She might be wrong, but it's what she believes and I think she wanted Steve to support her in that and fight for Joey. He disagreed and did what he thought was right. Thus, the impasse they are at right now.

Okay episode. I will say, though, that the episodes do still drag for me when I watch live (like I did today).

Man, for someone tied to the law, Justin sure knows how to make himself (and "Adrienne") look suspicious to the cops. LOL. Nice to get another Alex mention.

I liked Gabi standing up for herself. But some of the dialog was kind of annoying -- especially about Rafe being "respectable." The whole "Gabi's in danger plot" is old, too. In fact, I think they've had a kidnapping plot every fall for the last three years (and many in between).

LOL @ Eli and Rafe's detective skills. They have their ungloved paws all over the envelope that Dario sent (which could have valuable fingerprints for evidence), and then they take caution not to get their prints on Gabi's purse. Way to be consistent, guys!

The Theo/Claire/Tripp stuff was pretty boring. And what do you know? As soon as they throw Tripp in the mix, I find Claire semi-annoying again. Sigh.

The dialog for Steve and Kalya was pretty decent today, and I like that they're both allowed to having a POV again. But the scenes today reminded me of some of my big issues with this story -- mainly that, with a few exceptions, they've been involved in the same story circle for the last two years thanks to crappy writers. It's frustrating, and I don't think there are that many good options to break them out of it either since we're stuck with Tripp and his connection to Ava. But without Tripp, they'd be more likely to get written out completely. Sigh. Why can't they cast Stephanie?

They really should write a story where Tripp is Kayla's son. Where Ava manipulate a situation and had Stayla's son and lied about it and I don't want to hear it can't be done, especially when we saw Steve die in front of us. History can always be changed and that would be a positive one. LA should have been casted as Joey in the first place.

I think they CAN do it, but IDK why they would. It limits his dating pool for one, and it cuts out a lot of possible conflict.

Yes, but he was trying to make amends with her, so going to the administrator before or after she rejected the offer wouldn't have achieved his goal. She would have had to be okay with it regardless.

He doesn't need to go through Kayla to donate the money, but he's doing it as a way to make it up to her. He could donate regardless, but he has a very specific reason why he's giving the money to the hospital.

I so agree with you about Stayla. The dialogue was decent but I'm tired of this story and want them in something else. However, I know Tripp keeps them relevent. ugh. I'd be fine with them supporting other family or friends in stories until we can get a Stephanie. It would help them and tat age group is lacking.

I just think LA look more like Stayla's son, then the actor that played Joey, maybe if the role is recast in the future the actor will be more believable as Stayla's son.

Half Halt

I'm looking forward to Theo/KP being gone. Tripp/LA and Claire/ORK are the best of that generation. Theo all innocent standing there naked except for a towel.... what a tool.

I think CB did a good job today, but Gabi really needs to get back to being a mommy/style consultant, cuz she's very very bad at staying out of dangerous situations. :blulaugh:

Raines is another whisperer. Thankfully he wasn't in scenes with Eric. Or John. lol

Bonnie is slipping, and I LOL at the message she left for Hattie!

Steve and Kayla haven't said a lot of things that should have been. Come on writers...

Ok episode
