I don't have issues with how Gabi handled things. It's just that it's boring because her life has been the Perils of Pauline this past year.

Meh, it seems to me the entire point of this particular kidnapping is to heighten just how far off the edge Raines has gone and to have the SPD save the day. It doesn't even seem to actually be about Gabi, so I never expected her to get out of it on her own. Still, it seemed she was trying to keep him talking to buy herself time and as unwise as it is to talk back to someone pointing a weapon at you, I'm glad we didn't have to watch all of their scenes being Gabi begging for mercy.

Overall though, I'm going to need the kidnapping subplot to end for everyone for a few months.

I didn't find today all that interesting for the most part. I did want Raines to put some tape on Gabi's mouth so she would be quiet.

I couldn't get into today.

I don't care what happens to Gabi.

I didn't enjoy anything about Claire/Tripp/Theo today, and I have no interest in a triangle there.

I'm sick of S&K talking about Joey like he's his preSORASed age. I'm sick of both of them talking about him like he's dead. I'm sick of Steve preaching to Kayla.

Bonnie is becoming less and less Bonnie-like.

This is a tough episode to get through.

Claire's excitement is cute but I'm not behind her and Tripp by a long shot yet.

Gabi and her crises. Pass.

Steve definitely is a lot of wrong here. He's so preachy today. I really wish Kayla would talk to someone else who had a kid go to jail so it doesn't seem so final. They talk like he's literally dead.

Hope is light years more tolerable without Rafe. They are just dreadful together and he's dreadful alone too

Another thing that annoyed me is Kayla letting Steve pursued her to take the Vitali money. BS. Steve says its Tripps money and that makes it not blood money? I don't understand Rons writing with this SL.

This was one of the weakest of the bunch. I'm ready for something more fun. Today was just either dumb or depressing and I agree hard to get through

I dislike Raines, but I found myself rooting for him to kill Gabi off and the rest of the Hernandez pests.

I think if the Bonnie stuff was funnier today it would have helped balance out the episode. But it wasn't

I know right! I was like slit her throat from ear to ear so she will shut the f@ck up before she dies then rinse and repeat with Rafe and Dario. That particular trio is better than sleeping medication.

Yea, I know things aren't black and white, which is why I said I knew Ava was evil, but Kayla always puts all blame on Ava. She never wonders how her son could do what he did. I think it's a big deal that a young guy could kill someone, I don't care who it is.

Kayla just didnt want her son to go to jail. She wanted him to continue therapy. It's even crueler that her son is in jail over something to do with Ava. That's twisting the knife. I think her feelings are completely understandable.
Joey murdered Ava. He's in jail because of what he did. The therapy sessions weren't helping Joey. He needs to feel as though he paid for what he's done. His father took the fall for him and Kayla, Roman, etc helped cover for him. The guilt was getting to him.

I get Kayla's anger and resentment, but it is not coming off well. Tripp shouldn't get insta-forgiveness from Kayla, but it's not his fault that Joey is a murderer.

Someone should tell Steve that Tripp shouldn't get insta forgiveness.
It is Tripps fault that held a blade to Kayla's neck and tried to sabotage her career. He then threw her to the ground like a piece of trash.

I'm not rehashing whether Joey deserves jail. I'm trying to look at it from Kayla's perspective. Someone mentioned Kayla doesn't see that her son is a murderer. My argument is that she was trying to get Joey help and right or wrong she doesn't believe jail is where he's going to get that help.

CB was good as a victim in the pre-prison scenes with Nick but the constant danger under Dena was overkill. That's really too bad because I think the Gabi/Raines scenes from Friday and today have been decent.
I also didn't mind the expository dialogue from Raines to explain how he went from by the book lieutenant/commissioner to Dario's partner in crime.Didn't really mind Gabi believing Rafe was a good cop.She knows he got a lawyer for her and did not turn her in for her behavior in the Andrew/Melanie incident but he turned in their father and I don't believe she is aware of his scandalous history covering up for Sami and Hope.

I seem to recall when Tripp first came on the scene he was trying to collect his last pay check after a bar fight caused him to be fired. He doesn't have enough money to pay rent for his current apartment yet he is giving away his entire inheritance.I think giving away all of the money is kind of short sighted. It would have made more sense if he made hefty donations to charitable causes and kept enough to live on since it attending college will not be cheap even if he forgoes medical school.
Given that the hospital had no problem accepting money from Stefano,I don't think they would balk at accepting money from the Vitali family.I thought it strange that Kayla would say no given that hospitals can always use contributions.

I forgot one other thing that pissed me off. When Steve said that Kayla knows why he had to leave them in Africa. ENLIGHTEN US PLEASE. To keep them safe from WHAT?

Thank you JCP.

I think Kayla has been able to voice her anger and frustration. She told Steve off but good in the pub that day. Ron let her tell Steve that she didn't like seeing him and Tripp toasting their drinks while Joey is locked up. I think Steve is the one looking bad. He comes off looking wimpy begging her to let them work together to get through Joey being gone. Leave her alone Steve and let her work it through herself. She doesn't want you around her right now and stop pushing Tripp on her.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I know. I'm just saying we've seen Abby in a similar situation, and she didn't outwit him in the end. She was rescued.

Like, I understand the Gabi hate, but I just don't share it to the extent that others do.
Abby got out of handcuffs using a fork, tried to seduce Ben, stole his phone, etc. What stopped her was labor pain.
She went into premature labor for heavens sake lol. But she was able to send a signal through the phone to Chad, that ultimately led to her rescue (it wasn't the cops that rescued her, it was Chad). So yes, she did outwit him. I don't think being pregnant and in premature labor is similar to the situation Gabi is in anyways. But I don't think Gabi is dumb for not being able to get away from Raines. It's not easy against a man with a gun. I just can't stand her screeching and like others said it's overkill.

Not a great episode but it was watchable.

My favorite part was Justin/Bonnie/Hope. I loved the dialogue.

I didn't like Steve/Kayla/Tripp. I think what bothers me is that it's written so the audience feels bad for Steve and Tripp and looks at Kayla as the bad guy. Tripp attempted to kill her last month and now we are supposed to look at him as an angel? That's bullshit.

I'm over Theo but he has a really nice body.

This Raines storyline is a waste of time. I like Gabi but not in those type of scenes, Camila is better at the light-hearted stuff.

I think we are going to get Ciara/Tripp/Claire triangle in 2018 and Tripp/Ciara are going to be the root for couple in this(per the writers), because I can see Claire getting a little clingy with Tripp once Ciara comes back to town . She is already insecure where Ciara is concern. Tripp/Ciara will fall for each other but will try to deny it, because they don't want to hurt Claire and I can see Claire getting manipulative because she knows they are in love but doesn't want to let Tripp go. In other words one big mess.
I hope not because I like Claire and Tripp. It would be a shame to waste their chemistry IMO.

I don't think Kayla is coming off as the bad guy, I think it is Steve. He is being too pushy and not even trying to understand why Kayla is angry. Steve is always the one in the wrong. It was wrong for him to take the blame for Joey and now they all have to pay for it. I think Ron wants to redeem Tripp in a hurry. I am ok with that if it means the ghost of Ava as Steve said, is gone for good and never mentioned again.
