I personally don't enjoy him as a talk-to because I'm not interested in his advice but I think Rafe and hope before candidates because roman says no to Abe.

That's because JT is better suited to play Chris Kositchek the bartender.

I think that might happen a lot with Ron. He will show the same characters every day for 2 weeks and then have them disappear for 2 weeks. At the end of the day, the actors probably have the same guarantees than before (2 episodes per week for most of the cast), it's just that Ron uses them differently than Dena.
I think most actor guarantees are less than 2 eps/week. Based on lysie's previous comments on this board, only a few people (likely Billy, Marci, and maybe someone else) have 2 eps/week, and everyone else has 1 ep/week. It may have changed slightly when Ron came on board, but I think most guarantees are still pretty low.
I don't think that's correct based on their episode counts but I suppose anything is possible. The actors could have a low guarantees and then the show pays them more when they go over, which happens a lot if almost everyone has just a 1 episode per week guarantee.

Here's a look the percentage of presence of the current cast under the past 2 regimes (Griffith/Higley and Higley/Quan).

Maggie 33% 14%
Abe 11% 19%
Hope 59% 42%

Can't they have 1,5 ep/week guarantees?

I think Ron is able to use Deidre a lot because she's been underemployed by Dena.

If her guarantee is supposed to average 2 episodes per week at the end of a 52-week cycle, that's 104 episodes taped between July 2016 (start of her contract) and June 2017. So if Ron didn't let her episodes go to waste, we might see Deidre in 30-35 more episodes between now and mid-December.
Only about five people were at 2 a week last year. Some people's definitely changed around February/March though.
I see what you mean if you look at the count for 2016 but that year had so many arrivals and departures, and less episodes because of the Olympics. Plus the episodes were probably not all in the same year for the actors. If you take Daniel Cosgrove as an example, he had 51 episodes in 2016 but he was only there for 6 months so that's a 2 episodes per week.

If for a full calendar year someone wasn't in more than two episodes a week, the other stuff doesn't matter much.

Regardless, some people's guarantees have changed.

Two of the five had to be Rafe and Hope. Probably Gabi too. Maybe Chad and Nicole the other two?

I replied. If lysie heard that most actors are only guaranteed 1 episode per week (52 episodes per year) and get paid extra if they tape more, I believe her. I was only guessing based on the episode counts that it was 2/104 for a lot of people and often the actors ended up a little bit below the guarantee.

Seems like Ron is trying to make Brady a bad guy. Maybe he will have him hit rock bottom and reset him. Chloe and Julie must both want TBD. Lucas and Will that should be good.
I think a reset like that would do Brady a lot of good. Vilify him, let him run Eric out of town, ruin his relationship with Nicole etc and let him hopefully then get a better grasp on real life.
I wouldn't mind seeing that and hopefully realize what a horrible influence Victor has been and get away from all the Kiriakis stuff.

I'd rather watch Rope than have to deal with Sami drama again
Not me. She can mix things up, there's no saving grace for rope for me. I hope Sami manages to bother them too while she's here.
Hopefully she will have some funny sarcastic comments about that pairing.

They can be fractions. 1.5 per week.

Maybe.

Going back to Deidre, she will probably end up with more than 78 episodes but less than 104. So either her guarantee was 2 and they let some episodes go to waste, or her guarantee was lower (maybe 1.5) and they went over.

The wording for the Julie/Chloe spoiler was a bit different in Voldemort. It said something like Julie and Chloe had their eye on the same prize. I did wonder whether both were trying to buy Club TBD.
oh that makes sense.

LOL, I read that Julie and Chloe were after the same prize and my first thought was, "Chole's going after Doug?" LOL. Them both trying to buy TBD could be fun. Julie can annoy me but it makes sense for her and Doug to want to invest in that given their history.

She plays two roles right now. She is separately credited as a guest star for the role of Hattie. Do these episodes count as part of her guarantee or is her contract guarantees only for the role of Marlena?

I THINK it counts as part of her regular guarantee. I think that's why they used her that way last winter. However, there's someone here who I think has some inside knowledge of such things that indicated differently recently, so I'm not sure.

I'm almost entirely positive that Deidre's guarantee changed recently. I think Drake's did, too. His seemed to be a solid 2 per week once he was back for real.
