Wow, Sonny is bad in those first few scenes.

He starts off saying he felt sorry for Lucas getting dumped by Adrienne. Please. Sonny agreed to be best man for Lucas/Adrienne, then ran off to get Justin to interrupt the wedding, which was both bratty and disingenuous. Then when Adrienne chose Lucas, Sonny wouldn't even be civil about it (Justin was, and Lucas was when he thought that Adrienne had picked Justin, but not Sonny boy). So I don't want to hear Sonny justifying his bitching about Lucas by claiming he was some kind of sympathetic stand-up guy during the Lucas/Adrienne/Justin triangle, because he wasn't.

Then Sonny goes on about how Lucas is BACK TO being "a nasty, belligerent drunk." Sonny was not around the last time Lucas fell off the wagon and Dylan Patton was playing Will. So Sonny has no idea what kind of drunk Lucas was back at the height of his issues... and for the record, he went between being a snarky drunk and a weepy drunk. Lucas' current behavior is not him even when he is off the wagon, which is why the decent human beings of Salem are concerned.

"I don't care if he was in a coma. That's no excuse to give potshots to me like that." Yikes. Truly, Sonny's compassion is overwhelming. Are we sure he's Justin/Adrienne's kid? Maybe he burst full-formed from Victor's forehead?

As much as it squicks me out, and despite my well-documented issues with Chandler's Will, I may end up rooting for Paul/Will in this triangle.

ETA: And this fool will "never forgive" Lucas for bringing up Lucas' own son's name? Fuck you, Sonny. (But no fucking Paul. He's too good for you.)
Sonny never asked Justin to break up the wedding he only advised Justin if he still loved Adrienne to tell her .it was Justin's choice to bust into the church .and Sonny was always nice to Lucas not fake at all sure he may have wanted his parents together he respected his mom's choice.and just because Lucas is drunk doesn't mean sonny doesn't have the right to be upset by the pot shots Lucas was throwing and yet be synthetic to him as well sonny carries his pain to which is why I'm glad he had Chad to vent to
Actually sonny not always nice to lucas
The nothing wrong with sonny told justin it wrong because the timing when it so close the wedding and when agree to be bestman when it clearly he wish his mom dump lucas sonny reaction to his mom choosing lucas proved that

Yeah she does love Lucas because BONNIE was the one that dumped him.
Isn't it kind of heartbreaking even if you aren't a Lucas and Adrienne fan that the eventual breakup will likely come from the post 'Bonnie passing herself off as Adrienne' reveal fiasco and not anything truly to do with the Ludrienne relationship
I'm holding out hope that Adrienne will make it clear that their relationship is over not because Lucas drunkenly slept with Bonnie-as-Adrienne, but because Lucas clearly always believed that Adrienne would eventually leave him for Justin. That lack of faith is a serious crack in their relationship foundation, and it may be that because of Lucas' history with Sami he needs to be with a woman who has never had a One Great Love regardless of how wonderful that woman is otherwise. Lucas' baggage originally looked like it matched Adrienne's baggage, but it doesn't really.

Did I hear JJ right? He said Ben killed Will and 2 other people. Are they forgetting the midwife?

So, in summary:

Lucas: I feel alone and self-destructive and shouldn't have said those things I said. I care about people and right now I'm not capable of being good to them.
Vision! Will: I care about you, and so do lots of people who are not hallucinations.

Paul: I care about other people, like Sonny and Will's family. I hate that Sonny was so hurt by what Lucas said.
JJ: I care about other people, like you! Let's make sure you're all ready for your wedding, which will be fine.

Jennifer: I care about other people, like Abby and Thomas.
Kate: ... And Lucas?
Jennifer: Of course. What can we do to help him?

Abby: I care about other people, like you, Gabi. I hope this double wedding isn't too rough on you.
Gabi: I care about other people, and want all four of you to be happy.

Chad: I care about other people, and you can lean on me, Sonny.
Sonny: ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME!!!! ALSO ME!!!

I'm sorry that's accurate but also made me burst out laughing. That's probably really bad.

Once again, why isn't she "aunt" Jennifer?
My family doesn't call each other "aunt" and "uncle" so-and-so. We call them by proper names or nicknames. That doesn't seem weird to me at all.

I liked today's episode for the most part.

I thought most of the Lucas/Will scenes were well-done. There were relatable emotions in the scenes, and that's something that's been largely lacking for me in the Dena stuff that I watched and some of Ron's stuff, too. I'm not totally familiar with Will's early years, so I'm not sure if the story about the music they were telling was shown on-screen, but I'm thinking it probably wasn't. And if not, I wish they'd stop doing that; they've been doing it a lot lately. There's actual on-screen history that they can pull from for Lucas/Will.

Chandler was fine. Nothing amazing, but he wasn't terrible, and I'm hoping that he'll get better as the story progresses.

I thought Freddie's first few scenes today were pretty bad. He doesn't do anger well. He improved a little bit as the scenes went on, though. And overall, I appreciated the content of the scenes. I think they would have had more impact had his feelings about Will's death been shown on-screen more before now, but I guess it's better late than never.

I also appreciated the content of the JJ/Paul scenes, but I kind of felt like JJ wasn't the best choice to be having that conversation. I mean, on the one hand, it works because of family connection and same age group thing. But I don't really recall JJ being that involved in Sonny and Will's story at the time. So, it was just a bit strange to hear him discussing their love story. I mean, I know he was around at the time, but I don't remember him sharing that many scenes with them.

Abby and Gabi...blah.

Jennifer and Kate were somewhat better than I was expecting. I liked that Jennifer went over there out of concern about Abby being tied up with the DiMeras again. I also liked that Kate admitted that her actions -- especially firing Lucas -- didn't help the situation (ya think?!). I'm still not really sure that I fully agree with how some of the characters are approaching this, though. I know they've mentioned that he's been sober a long time, but some of their reactions about him needing to hit rock bottom kind of come across to me as if falling off the wagon has been a semi-regular thing for Lucas, which it hasn't been. IDK. I know they've questioned the timing of it, but I would expect a bit more shock and urgency from some characters over Lucas relapsing considering how long he's been sober. IDK if that makes any sense, but that's the only way I can describe it.

I thought the same thing. Poor Wendy. Although we didn't see it on-screen, I thought her death was actually one of the most horrific.

You are correct, the story about the music was flat-out wrong. Onscreen, Will did like lullabies/nursery rhymes, particularly Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. If they had wanted to go for hardcore history, they could have brought up the time Will demanded that Lucas/Sami sing it together and then faked being asleep. (Lumi mouthing "he's faking!" "I know!" to each other over Will.)

But I found the overall content of the scenes so excellent that I hand waved that inaccuracy. I suppose it's not as if Will couldn't have gone through a classic rock phase.

Wasn't going to bother watching today, but I'm bored, so....

FS is making me regret this. He hasn't improved at all. And Sonny is being an ass. My god, have a little empathy. He'll never forgive Lucas for bringing up Will's name? Are you kidding me?

Who goes around pulling on grown men's ears to greet them?

Jennifer's granny hair...eek.

Poor Arianna must be a very confused little child. One day she's living with her mom, then goes to living at the DiMansion and is told Chad is her mom's new boyfriend, then not too long after is told her mom's new boyfriend is marrying Abby and she gotta move back to wherever Gabi's living now and gets to be a flower girl at a bunch of people's wedding. :D

I loved that Twinkle Twinkle Little Star scene. It's one of my favorite Lumily scenes.

Well it looks like Will might be getting a chance to get back together with Sonny.
I doubt it. Paul will convince Sonny that they were meant to be since they are each other'S "first love." Paul likes to be right.

Ok, that was funny. Will suggesting Lucas get back with his Mom, and Lucas says, "Sami?" As though it was the last person he would have ever thought of.

Actually I haven't seen the entire scene just a scene off twitter, but I'm not sure if you are referring to the part where Lucas says he can't sing to him anymore. If it wasn't for the damn rights crap with Youtube and Sony or whomever went after every damn clip of Days there has ever been, we would still have a scene of Lumi singing twinkle twinkle to baby Will....

but here are two videos that are fan made that show the extent of how close these two were when Will was young:

You know one of the times Lucas fell off the wagon was when Kate blackmailed and forced him to sign his rights to Will away so that he wouldn't go to jail for killing Franco as Sami had the evidence. So he signed the papers and drank himself into a stupor and while he was drinking all he could think about was all the time he spend with baby Will and the pictures Will drew of 'daddy and me'....

what we are seeing now with this hallucination reminds me of how important Will has always been to Lucas.

I know I'm more of a Sonny fan than a lot of people here but I don't mind his Lucas bashing. The man just threw all of this BS in his face so it makes sense that he would be pissed. He'll get over it, I'm sure.

FS does need to take some acting classes, though, damn.
