Another episode full of Abigail and Chad slobbering all over one another. Thomas is going to change his name back to Colin and find his real dad.
I'm really sick and tired of Chabby. Get married already and go on a long honeymoon offscreen.

What people have said about EriCole having Jarlena vibes: I can't see it because I'm not as invested in any of the characters like I was back then. Back then, although I wanted Marlena to choose John I still felt horrible for Roman. It was a situation where no one was really going to win and I felt for everybody. Now, I only care about Eric.
I don't get the comparison either, TBH  Apples and oranges.

Where to even start - John and Marlena's chemistry? Their decades long love story? It's lightening in a bottle. None of it is even comparable.

I don't get any "John and Marlena vibes" when I watch Eric and Nicole. There may be similarities in the fact that John wrote Marlena a letter in 1996 and Eric was writing Nicole letters more recently, but the "similarities" end there. Those beautiful gut-wrenching scenes of John asking Abe for a piece of paper and a pen and then sitting on a cot in a dungeon cell, awaiting execution and pouring his heart and soul out to Marlena ... Dear God, this current superficial crap could only dream of coming close. Especially since that letter that John wrote to Marlena was the culmination of years and years of longing and love between these two. Consistent, unrushed, true to character, wonderful storytelling. I miss it.

I can't stop watching the Nicole reads Eric's letter and the Jen/Eric goodbye -- those scenes made this episode for me. The miss you/miss you more/Jen's grandmother's donuts portion was adorable.

FFS, how many people live at the Kiriakis Mansion?

Justin and Bonnie (Adrienne)
Brady and Nicole (who was married to Victor)
Victor and Maggie
Sonny and Paul (who is Brady's brother)
Sheila
Tate
Holly
Henderson
And yet strangely, with all of those people living in that house, it's only the characters being featured that day who are ever using that cramped living room. I wouldn't mind seeing, even for a quick second, Tate running through and grabbing one of the stupid figurines and have some U5 nanny snatch it out of his hand and usher him into another room. Or Henderson or some maid cleaning up one of Brady's many broken glasses at the beginning of a scene. Or cook popping her head in to ask Magic what they want for dinner.

I feel like they handled this much better when Lumi and baby Will were living in the old Kiriakis Mansion. That was a huge sprawling set compared to what we have now.

I feel like such a curmudgeon! Remember way back when they showed people living in houses and not just delivering lines on a park bench in front of wall of fake leaves? And did real outdoor shoots? And had snappier dialogue? And people actually went to work in offices and not living rooms? And the offices weren't the same single office with different furniture? And there were actual patrons in the pubs, coffee shops, and clubs? And the rotary phones that constantly ring at the police department were appropriate background noises? And there was wind and weather and the change of seasons? Back in my day there was love in the afternoon! LOL

I'd like to see Tate come back from having visiting grandma and grandpa's while his dad never noticed. It's like they try to make Brady look like he totally ignores that kid. Brady can be like wow I didn't realize they were in bayview and I didn't realize Tate was gone

And balconies! I loved the hospital balcony and the penthouse balcony too.

I'm not a Jenn/Eric fan but it would have been good if Jennifer had followed Eric to the farmhouse and they ended up in bed and Nicole rushed in and saw them :blulaugh:
Good for Jennifer - not so good for Eric.. he'd come off as a bit fickle.

Why? He's not involved with anyone.

He's just spent the last month obsessing over Nicole. For him to jump in bed with Jen when he's still obsessed with Nicole is the kind of behavior I expect from EJ, Chad or Brady not Eric.

As an Ericole fan I have to say...I'm not opposed to this. We've had to endure Bricole so I'm just not opposed to Nicole having to deal with someone else wanting and having a little bit of Eric Brady lovin'. But honestly I can see why Jennifer fans (and I do love Jennifer) would be pissed if she were just used as Ericole angst. But I'd probably be okay with it despite liking Jennifer.
I am ok with Jennifer getting hurt & used a little bit. Jennifer has done her share of unknowingly hurting other, Emilio, Frankly, Peter and Daniel. I think this triangle would have played much better if it was an Eric in the middle. He having some sort of a relationship with Jennifer and clearly being drawn to Nicole. I would feel for the three charcters in that situation. I just could care less what happens to Brady and I think Eric having feelings for Jennifer would really work when Nicole leaves. Plus I like the Jennifer & Nicole dynamic, they do have an interesting history, which would have added layers.

Jennifer following Eric to the farmhouse and having heartbreak sex with Nicole walking in would have been major angst all around.

You forgot Jack.

I don't like Jeneric, so I'm happy that Jennifer isn't an issue in this triangle.

^Jack most of all.

I finally watched this episode today. I really like Jennifer and Eric. Jennifer is just very sweet with him unlike when she was with Daniel and she became a very unlikeable person.
I also like Nicole and Eric. I think if Nicole was sticking around I'd want Nicole and Eric but since she's leaving I'm all for J/E.

I disliked everything about Chad and Andre and Chad and Abby.

I think this episode was filmed the day Kate M visited the set & they did that Emmy nomination Q&A with cast. There was a video of KM surprising MR in her dressing room & Greg V being there also. It looked like GV had the same clothes on & was clean shaven & MR's hair was very similar.

That was the week before the Emmy's around April 20th...

There is for sure similar aspects to the storylines. I am no fan of Eric with Nicole, but I can see them. Marlena & John were forced to work together via Victor. Both were drawn to the other and neither wanted to hurt Roman. John decided to leave Salem abruptly with Brady and head to Italy. He told everyone it was to start a new life away from Salem. He admitted to Marlena on the planet that he was leaving to get away from her. Eric & Nicole have been forced to work together at the Horton center, both are drawn to the other, neither wants to hurt Brady. Eric is leaving town with the excuse that he needs a fresh start away from bad memories. He is really leaving to get away from Nicole. She will soon confront him at the farmhouse, much like Marlena did John on the plane. Very similar setups

And it's probably not a coincidence Sheri wrote both

It's a shame the setup isn't what it could or should. Hoe fantastic this storyline could and would be if it were told in a different manner, if perhaps Brady wasn't written as a jealous crazy person. If both. Jennifer & Chloe were used in a more productive manner. I think I would really have enjoyed this storyline if Jennifer & Eric were the two in the relationship.
If perhaps then Eric & Nicole could be drawn to the other and want desperately not to hurt Jennifer (who is a good person, much like Roman). It could be Nicole leaving town and sacrificing her happiness so she doesn't spoil Eric & Jennifer's. This would allow for a goodbye night of passion for Eric & Nicole and then her exit. Jennifer & Eric would be left with a boatload of drama as a result. I also would have liked to see Brady naturally realize he doesn't love Nicole and for him to have been drawn romantically back to Chloe, that he would realize the ease & depth of the relationship..

Instead we have Pop-up Chloe, Jennifer outside the storyline' jealous crazy Brady, miserable Eric & a Nicole that still cries daily.
