Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
And it's probably not a coincidence Sheri wrote both
It's a shame the setup isn't what it could or should. Hoe fantastic this storyline could and would be if it were told in a different manner, if perhaps Brady wasn't written as a jealous crazy person. If both. Jennifer & Chloe were used in a more productive manner. I think I would really have enjoyed this storyline if Jennifer & Eric were the two in the relationship.
If perhaps then Eric & Nicole could be drawn to the other and want desperately not to hurt Jennifer (who is a good person, much like Roman). It could be Nicole leaving town and sacrificing her happiness so she doesn't spoil Eric & Jennifer's. This would allow for a goodbye night of passion for Eric & Nicole and then her exit. Jennifer & Eric would be left with a boatload of drama as a result. I also would have liked to see Brady naturally realize he doesn't love Nicole and for him to have been drawn romantically back to Chloe, that he would realize the ease & depth of the relationship..

Instead we have Pop-up Chloe, Jennifer outside the storyline' jealous crazy Brady, miserable Eric & a Nicole that still cries daily.
I think the conflict between the two brothers is a better set up than this being Eric Jennifer Nicole. There's just too little history between Jennifer and Eric to make that work for me. As it is, there's deep history between the brothers and each of them with Nicole

I think the real pity is the story has to be told on a short time schedule with Ari leaving

About comparisons to J&M's affair. That story was epic. For sure. I loved it. I still love it. But I am pretty sure no one watching that thought it would take four more years for them to get together for real, after it took almost two years to get to the affair from deidres return and a five year separation prior. Let alone that belle came into play and they missed all that time they could have been together with her.

So while watching the affair and aftermath in clips now in retrospect is easier, it was PAINFUL in real time and I feel like if a story played like that now, the complaints would be endless
