The Paul and Sonny scenes were really emotional today. I know its not going to end well for them when Will comes back and I am not looking forward to it at all.
I am tired of Chad and Abby and Bonnie. The Bonnie and Victor thing was not amusing to me. It is hard to believe that Justin can't tell something is not right with Adrienne. Rafe and Hope FF material.

I know they don't plan for this, and it doesn't really matter, but I wish KA's 4,000th episode hadn't been wasted on Rope.

I forgot to mention earlier that I really liked that Sonny mentioned being judgmental (and something else I can't remember) with Will. I felt like they hit more on Sonny's actual faults in the relationship rather than the "abandoner" stuff (that I think applies to Ari, but not Will). I also think they've done a semi-decent job of kind of pointing out that these characters (specifically Sonny and Lucas) didn't deal with their grief before, so it's coming out now. It's an interesting way to deal with a previous regime's shortcomings that isn't out of left field.

Also, Sheila not understanding why Bonnie is going after Victor when she could just keep Justin was hilarious and accurate.

Love Sheila! She was my bright spot on today’s show. And I love What she said about Justin- she’s so right and has amazing taste. :)

Loved seeing Justin- but he couldn’t make the boring twosome interesting. I’m so over those two.

Loved Eli/Val.

I love PaulSon- but I just couldn’t take much of the Will crap.

The Bonnie/Victor thing was just bad. I need for Justin to catch a clue like yesterday and go find Adrienne.

I could have done without Idiot Rope and Xander

Glass half-empty: The only part of the show that I enjoyed watched today was an extended celebrity cameo in a broadly comic storyline.

Glass half-full: I love Sheila. I love that Sheila knew a woman in prison who had a thing about Angela Merkel. I love that Shelia thinks that Bonnie seducing Victor would be necrophilia. I love that Shelia is willing to wait for the right time to hear about how Maggie stole Bonnie's husband. And I'm interested to know how Sheila knows Eli.

Actually, Mickey was Maggie's husband first. Then Andre faked Maggie's death and kidnapped her (along with half of Salem). When Maggie returned, Mickey returned to Maggie.

Oh man, my heart can't take seeing Paul that sad. :-/

I can't believe we got an entire show of (comfortably lengthy, for once) scenes that was just one long conversation. That's amazing. I don't know whether to be happy or scream. The first truly substantive thing that has happened to/between PaulSon since Sonny came back, and now Will is already waiting in the wings to interrupt everything.

That aside, I actually found those scenes fairly angsty and I freakin love that kinda stuff. Also, both Paul and Sonny were being refreshingly self-aware. Something I hope extends to Will when he gets back.

It sounds like I'm in the minority but I couldn't get through the Sheila and Bonnie scenes. I guess if I was watching regularly I might get the Sheila love, but for now I don't. I just ended up FFing right past Judi's boobs and also all of Rope.

I was quoting what Sheila and Bonnie said today. In Bonnie's mind, that's how it happened, and Sheila knows only what Bonnie told her.

I found the exchange amusing regardless of the fact that the original storyline sucked.

I don't know about that... I could see Sonny ultimately ending up with Paul in the end with Will getting in the way every so often.

J&M and Family Fanatic!

One of my least favorite episodes of the Ron era. Even the Shelia and Grant stuff couldn't save it for me. Rope, Paul, Sonny, and dullChabby is a horrible mix for me.

This was a slow episode but still pretty decent.

Rafe and Hope were obviously the worst part. I don't hate them, and there was even a time I thought they'd be good together, but that ship sailed when Stefano got "killed". I have no interest in a story where these two are cops. And I do sort of like the idea of Hope being commissioner, but it all just makes me uncomfortable after what they did. I know Roman is running the Pub now, but I wouldn't mind seeing Hope in that kind of role at this point. Just anything other than this terrible cop stuff.

The Chabby stuff was okay. I like that Ron is using her marriage to Dario as a way of creating last-minute wedding conflict, but it just reminds the audience how rushed this entire thing has been. It hasn't even been a year since Abby "returned from the dead" and she's had a botched vow renewal with Chad, drug-induced vow renewal with Chad, engagement/marriage to Dario, and another engagement/wedding to Chad. I get that it's a soap, but this past year regarding Chabby and weddings would make even Sami Brady's head spin. That said, I'm still looking forward to what's coming up on Friday.

Paul and Sonny were a really nice beat today that I'm glad Ron played. Dena would've either skipped this conversation altogether or would've had it completely resolved over the course of a commercial break. FS seemed like he was stepping it up a bit and CS is just so good. He reminds me a little of GV in the sense that when he's teary-eyed, I feel like I should be teary-eyed too. Lol.

I liked the Eli/Valerie scenes and am curious about Eli/Sheila. Sheila and Bonnie were the absolute highlight for me today. They crack me up! I just can't believe how much I'm loving T-Boz this time around. Even Bonnie, a character who used to drive me nuts back in the day, is a comic breath of fresh air. The two of them plotting together is fun! It's like what they wanted to accomplish with Anne and Theresa, except this time it's actually entertaining.

Abby knew she married Dario under false pretenses and lied to immigration officials, and Chad knows that now too but yet she acts like she did nothing wrong.
Abby seems to know she did something wrong in marrying Dario to circumvent immigration laws/officials but Chad actually said she did nothing wrong which is absurd. I do give Abby credit for not want to get into further legal jeopardy by committing perjury or knowingly providing false information in court documents.
I wonder what was used as grounds for the annulment. Its just seems weird to want to hurry the annulment so that one of the parties to the marriage can marry someone else.

As I sat today watching the beautifully-crafted PaulSon scenes all I could feel at first was anger. Why? Because we should have been getting this kind story, dialogue and performances for the couple every since Sonny returned to Salem. Instead we got Paul being pushed aside for all that Deimos/Titan garbage. I always said it takes a real gay person to write realistic LGBT stories and Ron C is proving me right. I may not feel like this in the future but right I'd say that he is the best thing that has happened to DOOL since I started watching back in 2012.

Freddie may had the lion share of the dialogue and today was the best performance we have seen from him in years but Christopher surpassed him in emotion. The tears streaming down Paul's cheek made me want to reach through the TV and hug him. I'm glad that Freddie is fully engaged in his job again. I hope it lasts.

I had a different take on the Sonny tells Paul he was his first love conversation. It sound to me that Sonny was saying that if Will were to miraculously show up alive again, he wouldn't just abandon Paul for Will. Sonny was saying Paul wasn't his second choice because he could no longer have Will, he was his first. It seems like Sonny was balancing the relationships. I think there was a little bit of Sonny telling Paul what he thought was the best thing to say in order to move things forward. Time will tell...

I LOLed when Bonnie just like Adrienne figured out that the only language Shelia understands is hood.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Nor was there any fallout or aftermath.
Right, absolutely nothing :yawnz:
Even when J&M are on together in a story I'm really tired of Deidre having a disproportionate
amount of screen time. So I can't wait for more of BlackPatch (even if it 6 months away)
My appreciation for the character(s) of Marlena/Hattie is at an all time low.

I'm watching more episode of old shows because I want to see Drake,
I don't really care if Deidre isn't in them. Drake did some pretty good
stuff while Dee was away.

I enojoyed the episode. It would have been better without Rope but even they weren't that bad.
I liked Sonny/Paul conversation about Will - it was necessary for the show to acknowledge the past. I loved Bonnie and Victor :blulaugh: - very funny. John Aniston did whatever he could not to break in laughs. The script mentioning geriatric sex, necrophilia and melons could only have been written by Richard Culliton lol.

I can't believe that deep conversation between Paul and Sonny finally happened. It was needed and it was well-done but part of me is really angry that it took so long! I bet we are going to get more angsty scenes like this in the future.
