I wonder how much they spend between 2005-2007 to use songs and singers on they show I know the show still had a big budget in those days but still they had Donald Trump, Clay Aiken, Smokey Robinson they played Rolliing Stones songs also show a real concerts, had Rex Brady sing I got you babe, had country music and singers .
DAYS must have had some deal with The Rolling Stones because they played "Streets of Love" in every episode for like two weeks.

All the advertising dollars that came in during the Salem stalker storyline. Their ratings were through the roof during that time, right?

Re: that picture of the Will/Sonny/Paul trio... now that Chandler's back, I honestly wouldn't blame them if they wanted to try it with Will and Paul, if there's something there with actors. I'm not gonna argue that Freddie is the weak link right now.

But I think it's kind of sad that's only my reaction because of the actors. From a character standpoint I am crazy sad/disappointed that's even a possibility considering Sonny used to be my absolute favorite and Will was just so terrible there for a while. I'm encouraged by what I've seen so far in the writing. I'm not mad about Sonny or others around him pointing out what he did wrong. But I think if Will comes back and the show expects me to forget all the lying and manipulation that Guy's version did... I'm gonna be bitter as fuck about it and Will/Paul getting together in that scenario is gonna sting.

Freddie and Christopher are very pro-PaulSon in the interviews, that makes me feel good. I know they are not writing the show but they know what's coming over the next 6 months and I doubt they would be so positive if the couple was completely undone. That being said, Sonny will probably be torn between Paul and Will for a long time. I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't made a clear choice yet.

Thanks for sharing the link, Hugo. I'm off to watch it now.

Makes me sad that DAYS doesn't have the budget that they used to because if there's one thing that's lacking - that's music and montages. I used to love them back in the day. Although, if that's true how come Ron gave an open invitation to Lionel Richie? Wouldn't it cost to have him sing on the show? lol

I don't really understand how it works with the songs. I would think if the song is really well-known, it would be expensive. But otherwise, wouldn't a lot of artists and labels be happy to have their songs played to 2-3 millions people? It's good promotion. They could show a bandroll with the name of the artist and the song at the bottom of the screen, I've seen it on other shows.

I don't really understand how it works either so that's why I was wondering. I guess it's win-win if a show gets an artist to perform and the artist gets its music heard. LOL

I REALLY enjoyed the live interview, it was so much fun. :D

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I'm always rather pessimistic about Lucas and Days... I didn't get that from her comments given the story I can see it happen and I can see it not happen.
Well Ron C did sort spoiler that Lucas/Adrienne are done and Lucas moves on (romantically). I believe that's what he said.
The whole Adrienne thing got me to root for them. (Lucas & Adrienne)....And hearing this...sad, but interesting of who is his next love. I think it's Chloe...unless Days brings him someone new...

Ratings for Megyn Kelly's daytime show.
http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/more-tv-news/megyn-kelly-today-gets-out-of-the-gate-slowly-at-nbc/

Megyn Kelly Today (September 25-27)
Households: 2.0
Women 25-54: 0.8

Days of our Lives (September 11-15)
Households: 1.58
Women 25-54: 0.73

I think if Days could beat Megyn in the demo, it would be a good argument for the renewal.

I think so too. The article shows she's losing demo viewers to her main competition already.

Just found the numbers for each day:

I had the show on and honesty was not impressed. It's not Megyn, it's the format that doesn't do it for me.

I think they had some type of deal with the Rolling Stones because they were on tour and promoting the tour, IIRC.

Lmao! Ron is truly a blessing to this show. I believe his storylines are just beginning for real. I haven’t been this excited for DAYS in years. Love that he tweets about the show a lot, it shows that he truly cares.

I'm not as confident the choice will end up being up to Sonny again, because we've already been down that road once. But if that's the case, as long as they fill the time that he's undecided with substantive dialogue and decent emotional beats, having everybody confused or undecided for a long time could be okay. They rush so much stuff, that it's often not satisfying.

In the beginning I really loved the initial vibe between Freddie/Christopher, but it was wasted because of how repetitive everything got after the cheating reveal. Will does something horrible, Sonny gets either sad or angry, Sonny runs into Paul to angst to him about and then say "I'm married" and nothing moves forward. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

Hopefully this time, it ends up being a drama-filled mess that actually makes sense to take a long time to figure out, because somebody coming back from the dead should be heinously confusing for all involved.
