I'd be pissed if John was the one digging up the grave particularly if he knows Lucas doesn't want it to happen.
That just doesn't fit with my concept of John.
I'd like to think that John would know better than to try and dig up Will's "grave" just to appease Paul. He's just too wise of a character to pull some stunt like that.

True enough. I'm just saying that such a wise sage-like character who has been around for a bit should know that you don't just disrupt someone's grave on a whim. The only way I see him going ahead with it is if Marlena thinks it's a good idea. Actually, on that note, I would be curious to know how both Marlena and Kate would feel about Will's body being exhumed. He was just as important to them too.
Lol!!! 😂😂😂 Samantha Gene does not look happy!!! I understand if she's angry. I'd be too if I were her. No one has a right to dig up her son's grave without hers or Lucas' consent! But I do hope they all end up working together to solve this mystery.
I love Ron's writing, and always have since he wrote for OLTL, but the predictability of his next plot points will be the issue with many viewers. It's not complicated, and he had to get Sami back into bitch mode for people like me to be on board for this return. Forcing her into the role of lead heroine destroyed the character. There are characters that can be heroines, and characters created to wreak havoc. Samantha Gene Brady was created by JER, and reintroduced as a walking catastrophe. Sure we had to wait for the conference room and the rape to turn her, but it was obvious the second Sami realized Austin was with Carrie that Sami would be a bitch.
So, the exhumation makes her go back into "I Hate John" mode. I saw this coming a mile off, but it's a welcome change from the "Good" Sami we got stuck with from HS on.
They'll get together to solve the mystery, but something makes me think they won't be singing Kum-by-ya. I expect a lot of tension between characters.

Sami is 1,000 times more appealing in evil scheming bitch mode than the watered down sap that EJ turned her into. I don't know if I'll ever see her as a heroine, so to speak, just because she has such a checkered past. Same goes for Nicole as well. They were always at their best when they were being master manipulators. :D

But see this is my problem with John exhuming the grave - if he does that without Sami's approval he's the bad guy not Sami. She'll be well within her rights to be pissed with him. And Marlena should back her on this one not John.

I just don’t think it’s a whim.
You don't get to exhume someone elses kids grave just because your kid wants to get married.

I don't think that is Johns intention here...Will is basically his grandson, he loved him dearly...if he is alive John would want to find him and bring him home, regardless if that ends up hurting Paul and Sonny's future as a couple.

Isn't Paul the one asking John to do this favour?
I don't mind John digging up Will's grave but I just don't think John would do it without Sami and Lucas's approval. I think to do it without their approval is inappropriate.

John would want to exhume Will's grave to see if his grandson is in there. :-/:shrug:
Just because Jarlena are (technically) divorced doesn't mean that Will isn't John's family.
Well, I mean, if we want to get into semantics, John is only really family by marriage and since he and Marlena aren't technically married, he isn't exactly his grandson. Yes, he did grow up around him to a certain degree, but he has zero biological ties to Will. Honestly, I've never seen him as a "grandfather" type figure towards Will as it is. Maybe it's because the show has always played up Will's closeness with Marlena or the minimal interaction that they''ve had in recent years, but John has just not come off that way to me with him IMO. If he really was to be considered a "grandfather" type towards him, we would have seen that by now. Over the years, the show has made it a point to highlight his interactions with most of his grandparents (Marlena, Kate, Roman, Caroline), so it seems odd that this beat would have been missed if they wanted this to be a thing. If there is evidence to the contrary, I am open to hearing it.
Speaking of Brady, isn't it odd that he's pretending that Theresa never existed? I wasn't a big fan of the character (I liked her in the beginning) but she's Tate's mother. He believes she left him and their son to go back to being a party girl. Shouldn't he try to find out where she is? What is he going to tell Tate when he asked about his mommy? I assume Theresa is still with that guy from the cartel, I don't think she would decide to abandon her son if she had the chance to come back. It's been a year now. Are Shane and Kimberly okay with what she's doing? I know that Jen Lilley thought Theresa's exit was genius but it's so unresolved and makes a lot of characters look bad. I wish the show could fix it, she comes back, they divorce, she moves to Chicago and shares custody of Tate off screen. But I'm not sure Ron cares, I can't remember the last time Theresa was mentioned.
When was the last time we even saw Tate? I don't think he's been on at all since Ron took over writing the show.

Is he going to get an OK from Marlena first to overide Lucas's wishes.
I mean... probably. I can't see John going along with the idea simply because Paul and/or Sonny ask him to. Marlena probably hears about it and urges John to do it.

Again I don't see Marlena as someone who would go against the parents wishes.
I see her as someone who would work to convince Lucas that this is the best way forward... to clear up any questions.
I mean its not as though Will / the body is going anywhere.....
