I'm late today but the wedding seemed lovely. I love the D&J romance too. Really glad J&M walked down the aisle as Paul's family too. Really looking forward to watching later.

That OMG from Abby... LOL she couldn't have looked less alarmed if a mouse had jumped into her lap.

Ariana looks adorable. Gabi seems overdressed. I hope today is the end of the "drama" of Gabi' being rejected by Chad.

The red herring phone call is pretty lame. I don't get why Kate's wondering where Fr. Louie is. He wouldnt be out there until the wedding started. I guess the Fr. Louie drama is the big diversion plot today.

That green dress is Hideous. LOL that Paul is the last one to get dressed.

Deidre looks gorgeous.. except for that hair piece at the back of her head. I hate when she wears that, totally not needed. Not liking Nicoles cleopatra hair either.

What am I missing? Why is Rafe not sitting with his fiancé? Is he sitting on the other side because he's not a Horton?

I love that there's going to be a Doug's Place again but I hate that set. Can they redo it, please? It's tacky, cheap, and just plain ugly.

I'm just happy that they have Steve, Kayla, and Hope there. These 3 should definitely be at this wedding. I'm fine with them not having any dialog. I'm sure the actors had fun filming these scenes.
Yea, sitting for hours in uncomfortable clothes... so much fun!

Thank you JCP.

I thought Lucas was suppose to show up after all. Is this another fake out, Chad and Abby aren't even married yet.

I just don't care about Gabi's "heartbreak". She's the dumbass that decided being with a man who still loves his ex was a good idea. She's the dumbass that couldn't see she was just a rebound when Chad thought Abby was dead.

Does it seem like Gabis scenes were added in later? Why is she sitting in a chair?

The Gabi chair stuff is kind of weird. But from the standpoint that she was sitting with Ari, I get it. It's possible it was added in later due to the restrictions they have with children's shooting schedules, too. Wedding episodes with lots of cast usually take a full day, and I think the kids can only be on set for two or three hours.

That reminds me...where was Thomas?

The interactions with different people in the cast....

The use of major couples from this show's iconic history to have their own romantic moments........

The mentioning of many characters that are off the show, FOR NOW!

The little bombs dropping that make it obvious that dramatic moments are coming up

This show is getting much, much better. It's paying attention to history. It's romantic. It's dramatic without being too dark. If only we had Ron as HW, and Sheri as a consultant during the 50th! I think the show has a good fit here.
Yes to all of this. This is what has been missing from the show all in one episode.
Days is always at it's very best when they try to just let story flow, and give these very big moments that brings the town together. It's also best when it has a big umbrella story that hits everyone, but in different ways. When is the last time we had a real umbrella story that featured a different location than Salem, and included people from every generation? JER, Sheri Anderson, and Pat Falken Smith did big umbrella style stories and episodes, and they, along with Bill Bell, are the top writers this show has ever had.

I am looking forward to Memphis. The people heading there will have different reasons for going, and yet they will be able to have input into all the big reveals on the Mississippi River. There will be shockers for everyone, and yet people will likely be around and placed into other spheres. I am excited about the show.

Plus all the queen bitches are going to be back! Vivian, Sami, and hopefully Kristen under Ron's pen will be campy, but absolutely fun to watch.

As a southerner, I just hope they don't act like it's 1955. I live in the Atlanta Metro and heavy southern accents are just not as prevalent as they use to be. Not all of us are conservative, and many of us support gay rights. I am as liberal as they come and I live 15 miles from Chandler Massey's hometown.

Enjoyed the episode, but was laughing my ass off from the moment Justin said "Andre" to the end of his speech. I just cannot accept this guy as Andre.

I also think it's funny when Victor and Bonnie interact.

Also need to add how great it was to see a full church for this event.

That was a good episode. Not a ton to say about it, though. There were lots of good reaction shots, and it was nice having most of the cast together. I thought the PaulSon vows were good. I wish Chabby had even an ounce of chemistry. Gabi sitting to the side in a special chair was weird. Gabi walking Ari down the aisle was REALLY weird. Doug and Julie coming in late was hilarious and a really good tease. Did they cut a D&J scene, though?

I've never seen so much hugging at a wedding ceremony.

I hate what Patch and Kayla are wearing. Why can't Patch wear a colored shirt once a year? And I don't mean navy blue or indigo LOL

I guess I don't go to many weddings that have so many speeches... feels more like a funeral. Why doesn't John get to talk, but Maggie, Andre and Brady do? And it just felt like it was Thaao making his speech not Andre. Everyone's reactions to him were bizarre.

It must be Ben at the end not Will, if I go by reactions, especially Marlena's. If it was Will she'd have fainted or gasped. Unless they're being directed to have those reactions to fool the audience.

Yeah, they must have cut Julie showing Doug the outside sign that we saw in the preview pic.

I haven't read this thread yet. I wanted my impressions of the show to be only mine and not influenced by what I might read.

This show was the best of all RC's. I am a sentimental fool. Weddings get to me. But this one or pair was just perfect. The dialogue between Sonny and Paul had me in tears. CS is so very good. He made me believe every word.

MM looked beautiful. It is the best she has looked in her whole tenure, imo. Everyone looked great.

Loved the tease at the end. We all know it is Ben but many probably do not. Great hook for Monday.

Doug and Julie were adorable. Loved Doug adjusting the lyric at the end to add Julie's name. Bill and Susan are so entertaining.

Great show.

I think they did.

I was looking for Julie with the sign "Doug's Place". I didn't see it. When the scene cut to them they were already inside and Doug knew Julie bought the place for him. I was disappointed.

You're right, he wasn't there! I didn't even notice. He should have been held by JJ as they walked down the aisle.

Great episode. I think the impact of the cliffhanger would've been greater if they showed Ben's face, but it's possible that they are trying to swerve the audience into thinking that it's Will.

But overall, thanks to Days for putting on an episode of classic soap. Family moments, emotional moments, funny moments and a great Friday cliffhanger.

My highlights:

Doug singing to Julie. This could easily have been cut but I'm so glad it wasn't. What a beautiful scene. Doug always sang to Julie. It's history and character and sweetness all rolled into one.

Bonnie sitting next to Victor in the church pew and making everyone shift over was hilarious and generated a legitimate LOL out of me. And Victor pulling on his coat to set it free was the icing on the cake. It looked like Eric Martsolf was having trouble keeping a straight face. Judi Evans might just be the best actress on the show. There is nothing that she can't pull off.

Paul's vows were so well-written, not to mention well-delivered by CS.

The direction was on-point. Everyone got their reaction shots, whether to the romance, the surprise, etc. It might seem like a small thing, but reactions are EVERYTHING in soaps. Even The Californians skit on SNL could figure that out. I'm glad when soaps embrace certain "cliches" and execute them well. It's why we watch soaps to begin with!

And as for the overall story, I feel like this episode brought us to that opening peak of a roller-coaster, and it's about to get CRAZY from this point forward.

I can't wait!

Which means the audience didn't hear the name change. That's a bummer.

This has to be Tony. Has to be. Because all those Salemites sitting that room with him not wanting to throttle him don't make sense.
This is NOT Andre. I mean there isn't any medication that has been produced that would make Andre this affable. This just seems surreal, and it's the only thing in this episode that screams "Where is the history?".

I would love to see an evil and unhinged Andre, but the show needs Tony as well. They have a man that can play a psychotic maniac and a classy but "gray" character......and they need to fix this.

All I know is this guy talking about love and trust, while not torturing anyone, is NOT Andre.
The acceptance of Andre's presence at this wedding almost (but not quite) ruined the entire episode for me.

Every time I see Marlena in a scene with Andre, I want to just shake her wildly and scream "HE SLAUGHTERED TRISTA AND TRIED TO FRAME ROMAN FOR IT! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU, WOMAN?"
