Also Gabi had to follow behind Arianna as she dropped the flowere petals. That little girl is old enough to walk down the aisle without being followed. |

So much for the new regime recognizing family Steve is related to Sonny and Abby but you wouldn't know it. They stick S/K sitting behind Hope and Rafe. It would have been nice to see Steve sitting with 'Adrienne' |

I think it has more to do with the fact that it's Bonnie trying to get close to Victor. If it had actually been Adrienne I bet she would have been sitting with Steve and Kayla... or actually upfront with the other parental figures lol. I think the actual seating, or placement of people, has more to do with spreading people out and making the church look full lol. Edited by Tammy, Sep 29 2017, 04:36 PM.

Please note: This report is not to be copied and pasted to any other sites. Please link only. Link to summary archive: http://www.network54.com/Forum/358635/ Director: Steven Williford Scriptwriter: David A. Levinson Segment 1 Repeat of Chad and Sonny's toast. Repeat of Marlena rejoining Paul and John. Repeat of everyone getting a text. Abby - OMG! Gabi is with Arianna in the park off the square. Did you know you're the most beautiful flower girl on the entire planet. Ari - You are beautiful too Mommy. Gabi hugs her. Thank you my angel, thank you. Look there are some flowers over there that are perfect for your basket. Why don't you go pick them. Go. Gabi sits on the bench. She recalls the breakup with Chad. Eli walks up - Gabi. Jen - Honey what is it? Is it about the wedding. Abby - It looks like there might not be a wedding. Sonny - So now what, we don't have anyone to marry us. Chad - Fr. Louis had to back out, family emergency. Sonny - I can't believe this. Chad makes a call. Hey you. Abby - Hey, did you get the text from Fr. Louis? Chad - Yeah I did. Abby - What are we going to do? Sonny is also on his cell - Don't worry about it, Chad and I are going to figure this out. Paul - Yeah definitely. I'm sure you'll find someone to marry us. Sonny - We will. You just make sure to be at that church on time. Paul - Okay I'll be there. See you at the altar. End call. Sonny - Okay we don't have to panic quite yet. Chad - Not yet. Bonnie comes into the living room adjusting her dress. The dress I planned to wear fit much better but everyone was throwing a hissy fit ... Hello boys. Sonny - Hey Mom. Chad - Hey. Bonnie - Everything okay? Sonny - No, Fr. Louis just cancelled so we're wracking our brains trying to figure out who can marry us. Chad - Yeah, what's the big deal. We've just got a double wedding planned. Who cares if we have someone to marry us. Sonny - Actually we do have someone who can marry us. He points to Bonnie - You. John, Marlena and Paul enter the front of the church. Marlena sees the guest book and signs it. Paul - Okay so Sonny said not to worry about Fr. Louis bailing, he and Chad are going to figure something out. Marlena - And I am sure they will. I'd love to do it for you but ... Paul - Yeah, yeah, I know, it wouldn't feel right. I'm going to go get ready. John - It's going to be great. John and Marlena go inside. Brady is adjusting his tie. I think my tie's a little tight. Nicole - Here, let me help you. You know what, it's been a long time since we've had a chance to relax and enjoy ourselves. Brady - That is true. That's good, thank you. Nicole - You okay, you seem distracted. Brady - I'm fine. I'm actually a little nervous. Paul asked me to get up there and say some words during the ceremony. I'm going to check in with Fr. Louis, make sure everything is going smoothly. Nicole - Okay. Rafe gets up and joins Nicole. Nicole - Hey. Rafe - You look happy. Nicole - I am. I'm at a beautiful wedding, I'm in love. Rafe - Yes, that makes 2 of us. Hope stands up - Claire, hi. You look so gorgeous. Hug. Claire - Thank you. It's so good to see you. Look at Theo, doesn't he look amazing in his suit or what. Hope and Theo hug. Hope - Of course he looks handsome. Claire - Yeah, my handsome guy. We're just really happy to be back together. Theo - Yeah, definitely. Abe - You know I've had my issues with Claire but I have to admit that Theo seems very happy whenever he's around her. Val smiles - Yeah he does. Abe - And your son, he should be here soon, right? Val - Yes that's right and he's bringing a date. Abe - Oh well then maybe a new job won't be his only reason for staying in Salem. Val - Let's hope. Kate and Andre come in. Andre - Are you looking for someone? Kate - I was hoping that Lucas would be here. Andre - Of course he's going to be here, his granddaughter's walking down the aisle. He certainly wouldn't want to miss that. Kate - No but he wouldn't care if he was drunk though, would he. Andre - Oh. I'm sorry he relapsed. I know how painful that is for you. Kate - I just feel so sorry for him. He lost his son. His heart is broken. And Will ... I feel Will is the only one who could truly help him right now. Andre - Yes, I'm sure. I just want to say to you I know how grateful my brother was to you about how devoted you've been to him. I just wanted to let you know that I'm grateful as well. Kate - Thank you. And now your brother's marrying again. Have you seen Fr. Louis? Andre - No. Kate - Well like I said given the history of weddings in this town I wouldn't be surprised if he got cold feet. Bonnie - I'm sorry, I can't ... I can't marry someone or someone's. Sonny - Why, you're an officiate. Bonnie - A what? Sonny - An officiate. How do you not remember this. You became an officiate online when you did that Valentine's Day story for the Spectator. Bonnie - Oh gosh right, the online ... Sonny - Yes! This is perfect. Chad - We're going to let everyone know. Thank you. Bonnie snaps - No! Hold it right there. No, no, uh-uh. Sonny - Why, what's wrong? Bonnie - This whole idea is wrong. I can't. I mean, I can't. I can't ... I ... I ... I ... it's a big mistake. I can't do it. Segment 2 Julie and Doug come into Club TBD. Julie - So Chloe and I were bidding like mad and then we realised if we didn't pool our resources we wouldn't be able to stop this sleazy guy Myron. And so we did pool our resources and we got it! So it belongs to you and me and Chloe. Darling you haven't said a word since I sprang this on you. Was I too impulsive? Should I have discussed it with you first? Doug looks around - This is my place? Julie - Yes. Doug - Then I'd like my first dance with my girl if you don't mind. Julie - Oh sweetheart, I don't mind at all. They dance. Doug sings - I love you truly, truly dear. Life with it's sorrow, life with it's tears fades into dreams when I feel you are near. For I love you truly, Julie dear. Kiss. Brady comes out of the back of the church and goes to Victor. Have you seen Fr. Louis anywhere? I couldn't find him. Vic - No, maybe he's lost in traffic. Maybe he misplaced his bible. Vic sits down next to Maggie. Nicole - From what I understand it was Adrienne leaving him, that's what started Lucas drinking. Maggie - Adrienne broke his heart, no doubt but you know there is no good excuse to relapse. Brady is listening. In fact Lucas's drinking again will sink him so much further into depression. Nicole - Yeah I'm sure. But on the bright side Sonny must be pleased to see his parents back together. Vic scoffs - Yeah. Bonnie - It's not that I don't want to marry you and the other people it's just ... I suddenly feel very itchy. Sonny - Mom you're just nervous, that's okay. Bonnie - No, no, no. This isn't nerves. I just can't get up in front of all those people like this. What if I made a mistake! I'd never forgive myself. Sonny - Mom you're not going to make a mistake. Fine, if you're really that uncomfortable ... Bonnie - Thank you for understanding. I just can't ... Chad - What are we going to do? We can't just cancel the wedding. Justin comes in - Cancel the wedding. What are you talking about? Sonny - Fr. Louis just cancelled because of a family emergency and the only person who can do it is Mom but she's feeling uncomfortable. Justin - So what about me? Chad - You? Justin - Yeah. Sonny - Oh wait ... Justin - I married Maggie and Victor. Sonny - You're ordained. Why didn't I think of this! Justin - Yes. I'd be thrilled to marry you two and Chad and Abigail. I mean if it's ... are you sure you don't want to do this? Bonnie - I'm sure. So sure. Justin - Alright, go call your intendeds and give them the news. Chad - Abby's going to be so relieved. Thank you. I'm going to call her right now okay. Justin - Okay, let's go get you guys hitched. Sonny - Let's do it! Alright! Chad - I'll be with you in one second. Thank you. He makes a call. Eli - You feeling okay? Gabi - Yeah I am. I mean it's going to be kind of tough to watch Chad and Abigail get married but I'll have Arianna there to cheer me up. Eli - You know I'm not too bad at it either. I took a course once, Cheering People Up 101. Gabi - I bet you got an A. Ari comes back. Gabi - Hi. Wow, so many flowers. You ready to go to the church with Eli. Alright, let's go. Eli - Can I hold your hand? Ari puts her hand in his. The camera cuts to one rose that has fallen under the bench. A man comes along and picks it up. Segment 3 The music plays. The doors open and Ari starts walking down the aisle strewing petals with Gabi behind her. A course of 'ahs' is heard. Eli smiles at Gabi. Gabi shows Ari where to sit. Steve and Kayla turn when Paul and Sonny come in followed by Justin and Bonnie. Justin claps Sonny on the shoulder then steps up to the altar. Sonny kisses Bonnie's cheek. Bonnie shoves Vic over and sits next to him. Ari waves to Sonny. The doors open and Paul comes in followed by John and Marlena. John and Paul hug. Then Marlena and Paul hug. Paul joins Sonny at the altar. The doors open and Chad comes in followed by Kate and Andre. Chad and Gabi exchange smiles. Kate hugs Chad and so does Andre. Then Chad hugs both Sonny and Paul. Jen is helping Abby adjust her veil. JJ joins them - You okay? Abby - I've never been more okay in my life. I'm marrying the love of my life. I just wish that Dad were here. Jen - Me too sweetie. The doors open. Everyone exclaims. Abby walks down the aisle followed by Jen and JJ. Chad joins Abby. Jen hugs him. JJ shakes his hand. Jen takes Abby's hand and then JJ does. All 4 face Justin. Segment 4 Justin - I'd like to begin by thanking all of you on behalf of the bride and grooms for being here today. Now I know most of you were expecting to see Fr. Louis standing up here to conduct the ceremony but unfortunately he had a family tragedy and he had to bow out at the last minute. So it my great pleasure and honour to stand in his place. Now I promise I won't veer too far off course which is why Sonny had me put a little cheat sheet on my Tablet to avoid doing just that. Laughter. But before I do begin speaking as today's Officiate I would just like to say a few words as the father of one of the grooms and the uncle of the bride. Like many of you we've all been to our fair share of weddings. But we've all seen ceremonies where the egos involved sometimes overshadowed the very reason that brought us all together in the first place. That's not the case today. That's not the case for these 4 extraordinary people, extraordinary friends who have chosen to share their special day with each other and all of us. Their wedding isn't about just them as individuals, it's a collective celebration of their love for one another. And there's a lot of love in this room, not just between the bride and the grooms but among those of us who are lucky enough to be part of their lives. And I realise that some of us here have had our differences (Andre stares at Hope and Rafe). Some of us have had many differences in the past but as we gather here today to bear witness to these two beautiful couples Paul and Sonny, Chad and Abigail, I trust (the camera cuts to the front door of the church opening and shows a man's feet) we can leave any feelings of ill-will outside the church. Marriage is a sacred institution not to be entered into lightly or unadvisedly so I must ask if anyone here can show just cause why either of these couples should not be lawfully joined together let them speak now or forever hold their peace. Silence. The doors open. Everyone turns. Segment 5 Doug and Julie rush in. Julie - Oh, sorry, trouble with the caterers. Doug - But it's all been handled so don't worry. Julie - Don't wait for us. They sit down with Hope and Rafe. Justin - Okay since no one here has any objections we'll move on. Our couples have asked a member of their respective families to speak on their behalf today. Brady. Brady goes to the lectern. I was going to talk about love. It's a wedding, so that's what you do, you talk about love. I was going to say that when you share your life with someone you love it's more meaningful. It's better, it's richer. But the truth is when you love someone it can be hard. It can be complicated. It can be one of the hardest things that you ever do but that doesn't mean you give up and walk away because without love life is really not worth the trouble it brings. When we stop loving we stop living. And when we stop loving we might as well die. My wish for all of you is this. No matter how tough things get, they will get tough, don't ever give up on each other. Do everything you can no matter who or what gets in your way to be with the one you love. He goes back to his pew. Justin - Andre. Andre - I'm very proud of my brother today and equally proud of the woman he's chosen to be his wife. When I'm around Abigail and Chad I can't help but be uplifted by the light that comes from their love, that emanates from them. It's made my heart not so dark and I turned out to be a better man. I'm quite sure that everyone in this room will agree that history will not be remembering the DiMera's for how they loved but when they write the story of Chad and Abigail it will be a story of beauty, poignancy, the story of true love. A passion that is timeless. And so I want to say to them, to wish them a very well deserved happily ever after. Oh sorry, to Paul and Sonny, much happiness to you as well. Laughter. Justin - Maggie. Bonnie scoffs - They asked Maggie to talk about love! Mickey must be turning over in his grave. Vic - What did you say? Bonnie - I said this part is my fave, all these speeches. Maggie - Today is all about second chances. I know a little bit about those. We are told to take it one day at a time, that tomorrow was never a guarantee and yesterday is not worth that much either. We only have today, this very moment. You've all been given a second chance at love and that opportunity is so rare and so precious. Sonny, Paul, Abigail and Chad I have faith that you will take one day at a time. Take each and every moment of the new opportunity to love each other better and to take this second chance and make it count. I hope and pray that today that your love will be a reminder to all of us to take that chance. All the couples look at one another. Gabi smiles at Eli. Paul and Sonny take candles and together light a large candle. Chad and Abby do the same. Segment 6 Justin - Before Paul and Sonny and Chad and Abigail exchange rings they have chosen to share the vows that they have written to each other today. Paul. Paul and Sonny take hands. Paul - Ever since I was 4 years old I knew what I wanted to be. I could throw a baseball faster, ironically straighter than any kid twice my age. It made me different. Just about as different as they feelings I started having a few years later. So I used the first thing that made me different to cover up the second. I hid behind it. I could stand on a little mound of dirt in front of 75,000 screaming people and everywhere I went they all knew who I was. I was Paul Narita, all-star pitcher. I was respected and admired but me, I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror. My grandfather and my mother couldn't be here today but they raised me together and I'd like to believe they did a damn good job of it. He talks in Japanese to his Mom (John has her on video chat on his phone I'm presuming). My mother and my grandfather are Japanese obviously. And the reason I tell you that is the Japanese don't have a word that means identity which for a good part of my life I was trying to find for myself. But unfortunately I couldn't find who I was. I didn't really know who I was until I met you Sonny. When I first saw you I saw someone who was brave, was funny, was honest and true to himself and what was in his heart. And as I got to know this man I saw something else. I saw those feelings that I'd had, those feelings that I'd been hiding, they weren't wrong. And it was through our friendship and later my love for you that I was able for the first time in my life to look in that mirror and see who I really was. When I was 4 years old I knew what I wanted to do but it was only until very recently that I found out what I wanted to be. I want to be the man who spends the rest of his life with you Sonny Kiriakis. Segment 7 Sonny - It's true that I was able to see who you were before you could or before you could admit it. But you were the one who saw how good we could be together before I had any clue at all. But now we're standing here Paul in front of the most important people in our lives and they all know and you know that I have been in love before and I lost that love. And for a while I was lost and I didn't want to be found by anyone. You helped me find my way back from a broken heart. You showed me that I could love again and I'm so happy that it's you that I fell in love with. And as we begin this journey I know that no matter which direction I turn you are going to be there for me like you've always been. And Paul I want you to know from the bottom of my heart there is not another a living soul on this planet that I would rather be standing here with than you. Chad - Great! I'm going to follow that. Laughter. Abby - You want me to go first, let you off the hook. Chad - Yes please. Abby throws back her veil. Life is surprising. I used to be really into planning, I think I get it from my Mom. But it doesn't matter how much I plan I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. I don't know what's going to happen in the next 10 minutes, 10 seconds. The door opens. Everyone exclaims and stares. |

Nah, the show is just ignoring that Steve is related to them. Steve, Jack and Adrienne had such a complicated relationship its the shows loss that they mostly ignore that now. |

Yeah, the seating is always wonky at big events, and I think it has a lot to do with blocking and getting the best angles for reaction shots, too. Hell, Sonny wasn't even in the front row for his husband's funeral. So, S/K are hardly alone in the weird seating arrangements department. |

Yeah I'm pretty sure Bonnie was supposed to be with J&M. Steve is just an uncle and not one with a close relationship to either niece or nephew in the wedding. His seating was normal. |

Obviously not since she appeared to get lost when she reached the end. :D It reminded me of when RoJohn had to do the same thing to the twins in '86. |

You are right, I put my glasses on and he is wearing his wedding tux, but they still don't look like they belong there with all those dressed up people. JMO. I can't stand it that MBE who is still gorgeous dresses like that all the time. |

It's not just the seating but the show didn't recognize that Steve is related to both in the wedding party. No Steve doesn't have a relationship with Sonny or Abby but all it takes is for one of these head writers to change that. Steve had one scene with Abby when KM was there and it was very sweet. |

They didn't acknowledge anyone's relationships outside of the "parents" and the ones who spoke. I certainly don't mind them doing more with Steve's side of the family, but starting the day of the wedding would be a little weird. |

And this one just started, Steve's disaster of a story just finished, it's still a lot of time to change it. He sat with his wife, who actually does have a relationship with the bride, on what was clearly the Chad/Abby side. Not too weird. |

Oh, I don't think they need time. I don't think that's a priority for them at all. But if it hasn't happened before now, IDK why it would happen at the wedding. |

Steve and Kayla were there. That's better than Abby's 1st wedding. I don't get what the issue is? Is it because they didn't give speeches? |
