It is glaringly obvious Ari isn't there and seems weird.
At least she got to be there. Thomas wasn't. They can only work a few hours a day, so they did their flower girl walk down the aisle and some reaction shots and left.

After all the terrible news today, I needed an escape from reality and was so happy to have Days. This show was off the freaking hook. First off, I absolutely loved Abby's dream and the slow mo action playing out. And then Robert Scott Wilson was incredible. Man he is so great in this role. Like Stefano, Andre and other villains I hope they keep bringing him back from time to time. He had some great lines. Loved when he called Paul "slugger" and talked about Andre, John and Marlena all being at Bay View. His reveal about Will was awesome. It was so great having so many cast members there to react. Normally, some of the characters would disappear on a episode like today- like Val, Theo, Steve, Kayla, Doug and Julie. But they used them all.

Interplaying Abby's vow's with Sonny's flashback to his relationship with Will was so powerful. And I have to say, Marci did a great job today. As did Freddie. The ending with Sonny showing up to question Ben was an excellent cliffhanger.

With the Will storyline and JJ's storyline about to start, Days is definitely turning into MUST SEE TV.

I LOVED this episode! It's the first time in a long time that I have liked an episode of Days this much! My only complaint was that they repeated a full five minutes of Friday's episode. When we only get 36 minute episodes, they should not be wasting time doing that, it wasn't needed. They should have just started with Abby beginning her vows. That being said, I thought everything else was great. I absolutely loved MM in that "dream" sequence- I thought it made sense, with Ben kind of triggering her to flashback to her prior hallucinations of him for a few minutes. Now, I have had plenty of problems understanding MM over the last couple of months, with her tendency to mumble or speak too softly, but I didn't have any problems with her today. I thought she was really good. In fact, I thought everyone was good today, and I can't remember the last time I thought that. Really looking forward to tomorrow's episode!

I wonder how Ben found out about a wedding that was planned in a few days (at least it felt like a few days). Especially if he was strapped down to a gurney for who knows how long. And I also wonder why he waited for this wedding to spill the beans about Will when it was such a spur of the moment event. How long has he known Will’s “alive”? I dunno, a lot of this wasn’t making much sense.

I felt that the Abby dream or whatever was so out of place. I think it would have worked better for me if she’d had it before or after the wedding. Or maybe just not included at all.

I thought Sonny’s big speech to Ben was odd. He went into a lot of stuff that seemed way too personal that the writers had him say just so it would cause Paul to feel bad. So it felt contrived to me. I get it, Paul is suppose to realize Sonny is conflicted now so when Will comes back we have an instant triangle. Everything’s in place, thanks Sonny, even though you have barely thought about Will.
I totally agree. So much of this seemed odd, misplaced or overdone.

And...there were 4 cops, a former CIA agent and a former FBI agent at this wedding & EVERYONE just stands there while the escaped lunatic rants and big bad Sonny gets in his face to scold him like he came home after curfew? Sonny's scene might have played better if they hadn't ruined the character by making him Gangsta Sonny, but now it just seemed like he was too big for his britches again.

Abby's dream felt really odd to me especially coming right after 7 minutes repeated from Friday's ep. It just felt like they were stalling and it was just filler.

LOVED the WilSon flashback during Abby's vows. That was beautifully done and for the first time in a long time FS DIDN'T screw it up.

I felt bad for Paul, but others here think there's something else going on. That would actually be interesting. Of course, I always thought it would be more interesting if Paul knew who Will was when he slept with him & that never happened so I'm not holding my breath.

I dunno. I kept thinking Why now? Why 3 years later? BIG HOLE in the story. I could have bought that Ben broke out to stalk Abby again, they threatened to drug him & he was like, Wait...Will's alive.....But this? It just seemed over the top or at least odd. I'm guessing they'll fix that tomorrow (though I won't be at all surprised if its just a huge gaping hole)

There's a very brief moment right when Brady tells Jarlena that he's going to check on Paul and they're sitting there smiling at each other! That was funnier than anything Bonnie said.

Bonnie just irritates me so...there's that.

Liked the JJ/Ben scene and mention of Paige. Rafe being there kinda spoiled it but it was good.

Not bad. Bit over the top for my taste, dialogue was a bit stiff, but not bad. Wasn't totally disappointing.

Which writer screwed up Will and Sonny? They need to never ever write again.
Two sets of writers screwed WilSon. First the ones that insta-paired them (MarDar) and the second set made Will an irredeemable liar and serial cheater and then killed him off (TomSell)

I LOVE Ben, RSW has more charisma than all of the other guys in his age group. I'd permanently swap, Chad, JJ, Eli and Sonny to keep Ben.

Only if he's now playing Sonny... :tounge:

I think RSW elevated everyone's performance today. Billy was the most committed to his scenes (as irrelevant as they were) that I have seen in a long time.

Anybody else get inappropriately aroused during the Sonny/Ben end scene?

The show needs to find a way to keep RSW on canvas. He's just so damn sexy to look at. Maybe Ben could have a weird but not dangerous twin named Ken. I'd give up majority of the men on this show just to keep RSW. The equally gorgeous GV stays though!

Is it wrong that I see more chemistry between Chad and Ben than Chad/Abby?

Making Ben dangerous is what made me love him. I don't want him neutered.

I'd love for their to be a procedural error or something screwy with his trial whereby he was released on a technicality. Dangerous, homicidal Ben playing mindgames with everyone, rebuilding his dad's drug empire would be amazing. Especially if he could goad others to commit assault against him and drive half of Salem out of their minds just walking around free.

He doesn't have to be permanent. A few months here. Then a few months later type of thing would be totally awesome and allow RSW to work on other projects too. He's a completely different type of villain than Stefano. Crazy Ben roaming the streets of Salem would be delicious.

I was thinking too that Paul was acting very strange today, not wanting Sonny to talk to Ben. I was like No. He won't do that. But it would make great tv.
I wouldn't want my fiancé anywhere near the man that killed his partner either! That's why today was so cool. I was team Paul, team Sonny AND team Will. What a web we weave! 😉
I wouldn't want mine near someone like Ben either, lol. And I wouldn't really want them to talk to them if I knew it was just going to hurt them.

Is it really a big hole in the story, though? We were supposed to believe that Ben was either in prison or in a mental institution. If he had known about Will this entire time he wouldn't have been able to tell anyone.

I really loved this episode. It felt so soapy and full of drama that it kept my interest.

I would have liked to see Marlena and Kate come together as Will's grandmothers and lean on each other for support. Hopefully that will still happen once the search begins.

The way Paul seemed to want Sonny to forget about Ben's words and resume the wedding felt very strange to me. I almost suspected Paul of having something to do with Will's death for a hot minute. I don't know if that was intentional or not but it raised a possible avenue for the story to develop further.

MM is better when she's acting angry and I just want her to be like this all the time.

I liked that Maggie urged Bonnie to go check on Sonny. I'm kind of tired of Maggie and I don't know what she brings to the scenes other than serving as someone that humanizes Victor, but I'm liking that she's on Bonnie's case and taking her to task.

I hope the rest of the week has episodes this good or better!
Actually, it's funny that you mention that about Paul. There seems to be a floating around of the notion on multiple boards & groups that he has actually known that Will has been alive and has kept the truth from Sonny just to hang on to him. The more and more I see it, the slightly less far-fetched it could be. If they took that story that way, it would be amazingly soapy and would FINALLY help to remove that sickeningly annoying halo people seem to think Paul has.

Are you feeling threatened yet Paul? Good, because you should. :blulaugh: :blulaugh:

I love Will, Sonny and Paul. I like that there is no bad guy in this story. I do not want to see paul sacrificed to pimp Will and sonny or vice versa

The unintentional comedy of the episode was FS' walk down the aisle. It looked weird. As if FS didn't know whether to run or walk dramatically down the aisle, so he power walked. I don't know how to describe it.
He looked like he had to pee.

I had the same suspicion about Paul. He wanted so badly to get back to the wedding even though he knew Sonny was questioning what Ben just said about Will. It was like he did not care about anything else as long as he MARRIED Sonny. That was his focus. And then he was disappointed when it did not happen.
