General Info:

This thread is for social media posts related to Days. We've omitted "interesting/spoilerish" from the title, but that hasn't really changed: We're looking for posts which help our understanding of the behind-the-scenes, or on the screen, workings of the show. If you're not sure if a post fits, feel free to post it, but an admin may jump in if someone continually posts items which aren't really relevant.

Additionally, the ideal posts for this thread are posts which would not otherwise go in their own thread.. If you're a newer member and not as familiar with what types of items go in separate threads, feel free to PM an admin or put something here with a note, but in general major news items get their own threads. It doesn't matter if we also hear about it in social media. If SOD has an article called "EXCLUSIVE: Ali Sweeney decides to stay", it doesn't matter if they also tweet it. (Ps - she's not staying, as far as we know, but items like that have been put in the twitter thread in the past few months.)

Posting these items:

Tweets: Please link each tweet and then set it off in italics, quotes or a quote box. To link a tweet from the web, click the time stamp ("21m") which will put a link in the address bar. To link a tweet from a phone, click the "..." and choose copy link to tweet. If this is difficult, please at least set off the tweet in quotation marks.

Instagram: We very much prefer that the picture be posted here along with the caption. Please put the caption in quotes. Posting the picture may require uploading it to a service like photobucket to get a link, or you can go to the instagram account on the web. If you are unable to post the picture, please leave a note in your post asking if another member can do it for you. (For example: "Justin Gaston just posted the cover of his last script. His instagram is ____. Can anyone grab it for me?")

Facebook: If on the web, click on the time stamp for a link. If on the phone, please quote the post and follow the instructions for instagram above regarding pictures.

Other social media: (Vine, etc) - Same rules, please try to link if possible, otherwise quote and ask for help posting.

If anyone has names to add to this thread, please PM them to Miss Rhi rather than putting them in the thread. There are unfortunately a lot of fake accounts out there, and we want to verify each account is legit before adding it to this list. (Unfortunately, this is true even if a known Days person tweets someone back.)

We have entered the below list as a "Twitter List" under the DaytimeRoyalty twitter account. To access it, go to

http://twitter.com/DaytimeRoyalty/days-of-our-lives

Then click "Follow this list". It will then appear in your lists.

Thanks!

It is unlikely SOD will print any letter that bashes an actor/actress, producer or headwriter. Try to be reasonable and respectful with your criticism, but don't be afraid to express your point of view about the show and its storylines.

If the comment line inboxes are full, wait until they're emptied and call back later.

The PR team at Days wants us to let everyone know they check this board daily and they report our feedback to producers. They also check the comment line, so make sure to call it often and leave your feelings.

I'm not sure if this was already posted, but Jen Lilley gave an interview and shared some thoughts on Theresa.

Quote:

“She’s promiscuous. But as an actress, you have the opportunity that when that guy leaves, you get to play the unscripted silence. The unscripted silence is the void that’s still there. You see this guilt wash over her that’s like, ‘That didn’t fill me. I’m still empty, so I’m turning to drugs now. And that’s not filling me.’ What happened was, as an actress, I was able to force the writer’s hand in some ways, because now they have to tell that story. What is going to bring her fulfillment? By the time I left, Theresa becomes this selfless, amazing individual. They built a church set, the girl goes in, and she prays to Jesus and [says], ‘I can’t do this without You. I didn’t know where else to turn. I know I’m not a model citizen, but I don’t know what else to do.’ It was so amazing.'

Here's part of it.

I was still stuck on the amazing, selfless person that Theresa became.

I'm guessing she takes criticism of interviews like this as criticism of her faith. I don't have a problem with her sharing her faith AT ALL. I have a problem with her bragging about how great she is, specifically about incorporating her faith into things. If she were so great at it, she wouldn't have to tell us about it. IDK how any writer, producer, director, whatever can read that (and they probably don't) and still want to work with her. Her ego is crazy huge...which is weird considering the subject matter.

Selfless and amazing are definitely my top two descriptors of Theresa.

And I totally agree that it is fine to talk about faith. That is just not what played out onscreen...not even close. Did I watch the wrong show?

This is what I was thinking. Theresa was not a complicated and tortured soul, and she certainly didn't become an amazing selfless person before she left the show. It's great that she tried to add layers to her performance, but it didn't translate on screen. Theresa's story was a standard soap arc, so I'm not sure why she thinks she pushed the writers to go in that direction.

I like JL, but she's awful at interviews.

JL couldn't have had the clout to force the writers to do anything.

My criticism has nothing to do with her talking about her faith. But what she said about Theresa just wasn't correct.

Her interviews may not come across well but I admire JL for not being ashamed to say what she believes. She seems to have found a home at Hallmark.

I actually like her Hallmark movies. With real life so dark and unrelenting I sometimes escape into the ease of the happy stories.

Thanks for sharing six.

I am perfectly cool with her for sharing her faith, this has nothing to do with that.

I am not cool with her saying she forced the writers hands. Plus she's wrong, the earlier version of Theresa was better than the redeemed version.

Dude someone tell Jen that nearly every character goes and prays during a crisis on Days. She isn't special.

I'm going to be right by your side. 💕

As a christian myself, I like the fact that she talks about her faith but she comes off as a snob in this interview. I wasn't even watching the during the years she was on and I wanted her gone! LOL
No actor or actress can force the writers to do this or that for them in the script. GMAB.
