Sad numbers for Days still, very little gains from the previous week.
Tuesday had less than 2 million viewers and a 1.4 household rating.
:(
I don't get it either.

I suspect some of the problem is due to Megyn Kelly. The fourth hour of Today was down significantly and that may be having a holdover effect on the entire daytime lineup.

At least the ratings went up, but they are sad numbers. Hovering around or under 2 million can't be good. I watch everyday, even though there is not much I'm enjoying. I just dont want to see another soap get canceled. :sadwalk:

There was also preemptions for the Vegas shooting.

The worst thing(s) about those ratings is that they actually promoted that week and it was a week heavy for two young couples. Their younger set is so damn boring. They've got to do something.

Just noticed the date. I wonder if it'll hurt ratings this past week.

I thought it was great actually. Honestly, Dena alienated a lot of viewers.

Am I the only one still salty that Kassie was robbed of an Emmy? No disrespect to Mary Beth but Kassie's performance really knocked it out of the park.

All soaps are down from last year, and pretty heavily - so it's not only Days problem. What sticks out is that General Hospital is doing much better (=loosing less viewers) in W18-49 than other 3 soaps.

Meanwhile, there are two relatively decent positives for those ratings. One, they're up from last week. Two, they're down the least from last year.

TPTB at Days have to think how to attract W18-34 because this seems to be their weakest demo. (very unusual for Days).

They'll probably classify Monday as a special airing to remove it from the averages.

it's so disapponting because it was one of the most important and probably the best episode this year. They should have nationally pre-empted it and aired on Tuesday.

I hope they will submit it to the Emmys.

Agree. It stinks an episode that good didn't get a full airing (obviously all due respect to the tragedy)

I'm in that demo, and there are several things Days could do to make me more interested:

1) Write better pairings, and stop forcing "chemistry" between some couples. It is downright sad how chem-free most of the younger set is right now.

2) Create more young villains. The returns are fun, but they lose some *pizazz* after they've been brought back a time or two. I think one of the things that made the Necktie story so engrossing for me was the fact that we hadn't seen Ben as a villain before, so his actions seemed more intense.

3) Minimize all the business stuff. Days has never been a business soap, and if their only office space is a mansion living room, it's not worth trying to sell the story.

4) Keep anchoring vets in story because they're my main reason for watching at this point.

I'm sad RSW is not here for long. He's literally the most interesting thing to happen out of the younger set.
