Honestly, I'd much rather have the Westons as an established villainesque family. James Read and RSW are both so awesome and worth investing in. It'd be much better than Sonny Munster Corleone and this weird ass Tony/Andre hybrid. His "the Grinch's small heart grew three sizes that day" speech during the Chabby wedding was gag inducing.

I'm not watching but I don't want Days to be canceled. I'm not sure what they can do to get the ratings up though.

His performance is Emmy worthy.
I agree. He was robbed of a nomination last year.

Was Billy Flynn nominated that year? Because yeah RSW totally deserved the nomination. It was honestly his and Kate Mansi's show. He deserved an award as much as she did for his contributions to that material.

Came up in my news feeds today - so much for being swept under the carpet and forgotten..
I just happened across this press release from 2005 when I was checking something on the archive yesterday.

DONALD TRUMP GETS FIRED-UP TO MAKE HIS DAYTIME DRAMA DEBUT WITH A GUEST STARRING ROLE ON NBC'S HIT "DAYS OF OUR LIVES"

BURBANK, Calif. -- September 14, 2005 -- Daytime television will never be the same after business mogul Donald Trump makes his soap opera debut on NBC's "Days of our Lives." Star of the hit reality show "The Apprentice," Trump will tape his appearance on September 16, in a scene where he leaves Mickey Horton's (John Ingle) office and encounters vixen Nicole Walker (Arianne Zuker). The episode will air on Monday, October 24 (1 p.m. in majority of markets - check local listings for time). "The Apprentice" premieres on NBC Thursday, September 22 (9-10 p.m. ET).

"I'm thrilled that Donald Trump will be guest starring on 'Days of our Lives,'" said Sheraton Kalouria, SVP, NBC Daytime. "Not only is Mr. Trump the biggest star on primetime television, but he also intimately knows drama from his many business ventures to his weekly boardrooms on 'The Apprentice.' Little does he know that the drama on 'Days of our Lives' is often more intense!"

During his scenes, Trump will reference the 40th anniversary of the Horton Foundation to coincide with the show's 40th anniversary in November. This guest appearance and the returns of other fan favorites are all celebrating 40 years and over 10,000 episodes of NBC's hit daytime drama.

Days of our Lives is produced by Corday Productions Inc. in association with Sony Pictures Television. Executive producer, Ken Corday, is following in the tradition of his parents, Betty and Ted Corday, who co-created Days of our Lives and helmed the series for many years. Stephen Wyman is also co-executive producer. James Reilly is the head writer.

I don't think it will get cancelled NBC obviously are not setting high targets anymore when it comes to ratings and know less fans are watching although i think if it drops to a certain level they still be in trouble.

It's being brought back up because it has been a year since the video came out, I believe.

He sure knows drama nowadays. ;)

Clyde got a bit cartoonish towards the end if it's his runs.

The worst thing(s) about those ratings is that they actually promoted that week and it was a week heavy for two young couples. Their younger set is so damn boring. They've got to do something.
Well the low rated day was the day they weren't on. At least Paul and Sonny. Not sure about Chad and Abby. But the fact that the show had better weeks not long ago with almost no promotion probably means fans weren't that excited about the double wedding.

The show is still boring. Not as boring as Dena's way of storytelling but overall the storylines lack depth. The stories aren't very good. If you don't care about Will what else is there to tune in for?

I agree that the younger couples they have right now have no chemistry. They need new ones. Ben is the best one they have right now. Your right no one gave a care about the double wedding. Both couples are boring.
Hopefully the ratings will rise this week with Sami coming back

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
They'll probably classify Monday as a special airing to remove it from the averages.
it's so disapponting because it was one of the most important and probably the best episode this year. They should have nationally pre-empted it and aired on Tuesday.

I hope they will submit it to the Emmys.
Probably too complicated but the best option would have been to air Monday's show on Tuesday in the markets that didn't see it on Monday. And air the Tuesday show at 1am. The other markets would have had a normal schedule.

Agree this would be a good submission for the Emmys.

If I remember correctly General Hospital had a similar dilemma - they had an important episode (I think it was Julexis wedding- or something else -I don't remember exactly) also on Monday and there was a pre-emption. They didn't air the episode at all that day.

I think one of the problems with pre-empting Days is that the whole schedule is changed for 6 months. There was an unscheduled pre-emption in July 2014 and Christmas 2014 aired 1 day late as a result. If that happens with GH, the schedule is back to normal after a couple of months.

I'm sad RSW is not here for long. He's literally the most interesting thing to happen out of the younger set.
Yep.......we need this type of hype. I just think people moved on or something...its not Ron's fault. I guess it is what it is at this moment. But I hope it improves. We are getting there, we did last week or other week ago when Monday, I think was in 1.70....

I am not finding it as boring as it has been. I enjoyed the whole wedding Ben drama. I like Sonny and Paul. I wish I liked and cared about Chad and Abby but I don't for some reason. There is some stuff I like and some I don't. There isn't really much going on except the Will drama so I could see why some would not be interested.

I though Ben was great to but its funny how some people can praise a performance on one board and think it is awful on another.
